Both supertech and fram drive are made by champion labs. And yes the supertech is cheaper because Walmart is able to purchase larger qualities from champion labs. Walmart is able to take a $6 filter down to $3. Those filters are the Ecore design and they are well made. I rather have these filters than a fram extra guard. The extra guard is a cheap filter, but the ones on this video are mid tier not cheap as this UA-camr is claiming. Lastly, the bypass being in front is a better design than it being in the back. When a rear bypass opens it pulls the contaminants from the filter element back into the engine. Where as a front bypass never allows the bypass oil to enter the filter.
I believe the main reason for the creation of the 12060 part number is the difference between bypass PSI spec. With the poppet style the spring tension can be adjusted so between models of filters the spring changes. The 10060 with the combo valve isn’t variable though so the baseplate and Anti Drain Back Valve do the job. GM or Chrysler who mainly spec those filters made a change so the new part was needed.
thank you. I found this document from Fram but didn't explain why www.fram.com/media/wysiwyg/resources/consumer_tech_docs/gm-fram-ph12060-application-change.pdf
@@drivinmedavey7265 I checked the FRAM site and the 10060 has a bypass setting of 9-15 PSI while the 12060 has a setting of 19-25 PSI. So using them in the wrong application can cause a filter failure from too much pressure or lack of filtration from too much bypassing depending on the conditions.
FRAM and CHAMP are now basically the same company! The parent company that owns them both is called First Products. I bought a FRAM TG9972 Cartridge oil filter for my Camry and it was actually a Champ filter with a FRAM Name on it. So they are basically messing around with their products, giving it new names (FRAM DRIVE) ....you are not getting something new and improved, they are just playing the consumers for suckers! (not a wise idea!)
Say no to oil filters using a "combo valve". Don't see a coil spring bypass in dome or base end, pass. Get one that does, even if it costs a bit more. Unless of course the engine has a block bypass like many GM models. Then no filter bypass required.

Neither of the three!!!

100% agree
Basically they are all the Orange can of death FRAM filters, just cheaper prices
