If your dog is an off breed, some trainers can unfairly be weird about that. But in a lot of cases, if multiple clubs wont accept you (and they aren’t full) your dog probably isn’t suited for the sport, and that’s ok! It takes a very specific type of dog to excel
@@mado11373 I'd have accepted it if he didn't blow his own trumpet saying he was the only club completing with a giant shnauzer. Why gloat about that but then say my dog isn't any good, if you're already training dogs that don't traditionally do IGP why not try something else? I think he just couldn't be arsed
@ Shield K9 Dog Training - I know it's not as good as you wanted but congrats on IGP 1. I spoke to you a few weeks ago about topic ideas regarding dominant dogs. I wanted to say that I watched all of Vasko's videos and you label him as a "gangster dog". I am really hoping you can add this dog, and gangster label, to any future conversation regarding dominance, social and handler aggression. I really like Vasko's attitude as I have a dog that seems simalr to him. I wouldn't call him "truly" dominant but he is up in the spectrum and can be a nasty a-hole and handler aggressive if not handled correctly. Congrats again and keep up the great work. I think you are doing all dogs across Canada, and the globe for that matter, a great service with your no BS information.
Love your openness, helps those watching your channel. Would love to see more of this type of content. Haven't seen anyone else show the dog trial and talk about what could be better. Thumbs up.
Great video. You encompass a true competitor. If you can lie to yourself, and can’t take accountability, you simply won’t get better at anything you try to do.
I really appreciate your detailed comment on your performance! This is so educational, informative! I am preparing for IGP 1 and your video helps me seeing it as what it should be, an opportunity to see more clearly what needs to be worked on. Thank you so much!
I feel like you're very honest in your self-reviews, if I can say so. Not harsh but not delusional either. I love watching your IGP videos. Someday that will be me!
I’m really enjoying your videos and your straight forward explanation. I’ve been around and trained hunting dogs and stock dogs my whole life. We just got a sport line Germane Shepherd puppy for my wife. My question is what is the practical use for dogs to heal in the way you are showing other than in a field trail. I’m not knocking it I really would like to know before I continue training (personal protection) thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Congratulations for the title! Nice routine for a young dog, it is very educational to see this with comments! I also have the problem with jump skip jump skip in the heeling and I don’t know how to fix it. My dog is very excited and heeling with a lot of energy but it makes her hard to keep position, which causes the ugly heeling with skipping steps. If I try to bring the energy down she loses her focus. So it is a hard line to walk.
Ditto to all the comments below about your honesty in critiques of Gage and yourself. Also, it taught me a lot about these trials since I am very new to this 😀thank you !
@Haz is the Hop-skip to do with Gauge’s stride length being out of whack with yours, where he needs to shorten/lengthen his pace every other step or so to stay in place for each of the walking speeds, or is it just a quirk that he’s developed? :)
my helper just sticks a folding chair in the blind and that helps the dogs get the position not to out their body towards the elbow during the hold and bark
Awesome video, love the honesty. I can't help with tracking but you can borrow my Coonhound lol, maybe he can his nose never stops. In all honesty love the video and how you show us everything the good the bad the ugly.
88 n 90 were very liberal tbh, anyways well done. Handler errors were visible at the beginning as well, especially with the walking, would work on that definitely.
I love how critical you are on his performance.... congratulations guys
I love how you critique yourself as a trainer and Gage. It shows yourself to be a great trainer.
Your candid self-assessment is refreshing! No other training content creators seem willing to share anything that is less than perfect.
I think that's why I'm so drawn to it as well
This video and commentary are priceless. Thank you very much!
Good honest trainer, love to see it. I wanted to do this with my dog but no club would accept us.

Thank you for showing the ups and the downs. Great explanations.
I would love to see a video on how you teach the send out. Good job Gage!
Me too!

That dog is the reason i want a working class shepherd, love his intensity! Coming from a authentic game bred APBT lover.
Another fantastic vid! Thank you for taking us along on this journey with you, Gauge and the team! Awesome work, well done! 😁👍
Awesome
7*

Love this - trialing is always humbling!
Power from the dog and Power from the Haz (work ethic/commitment)...great recap of where you are in training
excellent video sir, thank you, good luck on the 2&3...pretty sure you'll see the perfection you desire on the 3!

A win is a win. Great job!
At least you know where you can make the necessary improvements so your ahead on that score.

"Lower the Pace but maintain the Pace"...Back to grind! 💯👊☝️

Awesome video as always 👏
Wow, for how critical you were of yourself I was expecting you to barely pass XD Good on you for being honest.
Great work!!

Congrats my Brother
I absolutely love your videos, any chance you offer apprenticeships?
Why did you go back on the field afterwards with an e collar but let him get away with everything? (9:55)
I will take that on his first trial. Everything he did is fix able
That voraus!
I love the idea of putting your dog to the fire before they are actually pristine
😍😍😍 omggggg

So is your dog collar wise?
How do you train the send or? Do you have a video?
Did you trained him ?
