My great grandchildren like the ons that I made for them. One of them told her teacher it was her favorite book. The teacher asked to see it. She said it was nice. I like the sound ofvyour voice. You kept me company while I worked on my journals that are going to be for sale in a craft show on the 6th of Dec at one of our local senior center I plan on having mostly fabric items that I've made during and since the pandemic.
Your voice is very soothing, which is something I look for in craft videos because i have issues with anxiety and migraines, and they help me cope. I checked out your channel and saw that you have ASMR videos! So now I'm truly a fan. I love that you let us see your entire process.
Hope you see this this my first time I've seen you. I really like you. I subscribed few mins into your great video. I've gone a head n liked some the comments. Your voice. The crinkly paper noise etc. Love you already. I think one day you be up there with millions of subscribers. Can you send me some your tea coffee stained papers please. Lol. Jo from new Zealand
I thought it was just me that had to listen to a voice first to decide if I’d watch the video or not, I’m very sensitive to vocals and also suffer with bad anxiety, I get irritable with certain sounds or noises. I often turn the sound off when I want to watch tutorials and just follow along with sight only. I do like this video 😃
I just love junk journals. Its so much fun designind and making them. I've made all kinds of methods for dying papers the most interesting results that I really liked were with the shaving cream method. The colors were really vibrant with the first dip. I got aprox 3 to dips to each mixture. It was still pretty nice on the last dip. Kind of a chocolate brown mixed with muted shades of the colors that I chose. Then you scrape your dipping tray and start all over again. I'm looking forward to watching part 2
Your video is the first one that explained comprehensively, how to actually make a journal , other videos did not detail the process the way you did ❤thank you for walking us beginners through your easy step by step process. …I always knew I wanted to make a journals but nobody explained all the techniques and directions 😂the way you did . You are a teacher Extraordinaire ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thanks Journal Professor 👩🏫 📚
This was fun to watch! I remember back in elementary school mid 80s we made journals but we made the covers with card stock or cereal boxes and covered with fabric. We could put whatever we wanted in to our journal. I love the idea of junk journal for that creative out let.
This is by far the best video start to finish I have ever seen! You should have classes, your instruction is perfect, and your voice is incredibly soft and relaxing…I can’t wait to watch part 2. I have watched so many videos, and been so overwhelmed, again, this is the best ever!
Omg i know im pretty late to the junk journal party but better late then never right lol but i agree i love tht sound and im glad im not the only one and i love the idea of dying a bunch at one time but my goodness i dnt think i have room in my craft room I've moved it upstairs in stepsons old room he got his own place and I've rezdid my craft room 3x times now well only did decor once i just redid soacing and moved it around and took out some old furniture to make room and i ran out of room again i told my fiance we need a much bigger house 😂 of course he laughed at me lom im new to junk journaling like i need another hobby but my dad ppoast away just 3yrs ago and my mom & i have lots of my daddys things and i want to make a little memory book like junk journal for my mom i think she will love it..i use to scrap book 12yrs ago when my babies were litte so i didnt have to buy much but who doesnt want or lime new craft items lol so thank you for this tutorial for beginners i saved it so i can watch it and re-watch it lol thank you
Thank you so much for a great video. I am going to make one too. You made this so clear with great instructions. You removed the fear. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I love your journal. It's beautiful. I started makinjournals in 2019. My 1st ones were small and I learned as I made them. The next ones I completed were made using the bottoms from the large paper bags that my granddaughter brought home filled with her groceries from Winco. I tore the rest of the bags up and glued the pieces onto the bag bottoms. This gave them strength then I decorated them with the Garden Goddes paper pad. It had lots of sunflowers on many of the pages. They were birthday gifts for my great granddaughter who was turning 14 yrs old. She loves sunflowers and she loved both of the ones I made for her.
Handmade gifts are the best! My mother in law made me a beautiful journal after my baby shower with the gift bags little things from the favors and anything with the theme. It has pockets with notes written by guests, little phrases and pictures of my baby shower up to the point when my daughter was born. She too has developed a nice knack for scrapbooking and journaling.
What a wonderful tutorial! Thank you so much for showing us how to sew the cover to the Junk Journal nice and slow so I can follow. You've inspired me 💙 Subscribed!
Thank you! 😁 I’ve noticed with my teenage nieces junk journals they always come up with something so cool that I wouldn’t think of. I think it’s yalls young brains thinking out side of the box. Lol
Thank you that’s very sweet. 💖 I’m so happy I could inspire you. I just love the whole process of re-using old things & vintage items for creating junk journals & having such a unique piece. It never gets old to me. Lol
Thank you very much Chrissy, it has made the "where to begin" so much easier to understand in your step by step process. I am looking forward to watching the fun process in part 2 and attempting my first journal. Keep up the good work!
I am still watching this, and I love it. You are taking your time so we can hear your thoughts, and see it in real time-how long it taks. Thanks. You hav a new subscriber.
This has been very inspiring for me. I have looked at other videos but your instructions nailed it. I didn’t understand what a junk journal was so thank you!!! Cannot wait to look at part two. I might just try this junk journaling thing. So once again thank you 😍🥰
I just subscribed to your channel, this is all new to me, I’ve been trying to make my first junk journal, and this is so far the best and I just love it 💖 and I can’t wait to start my junk journal journey.
Thts wht im afraid of i know i will right now ive got 3 to do one for my mom of my dad and one for mom in law of hubbys dad and one for my daughter shes getting married in seotember to give for xmas gift of photos from the time they met so i need son in laws helo pto get some items i dnt have lol so he wont be surprised lol i just love this idea
Thank you so much! This is a great place for me to start. I've never made one before, and this is very inspiring. I don't feel so intimidated now. Getting started before seemed a little overwhelming. Keep up the great work!
A signature is just the group of papers in the middle of the cardboard covers. The signature is what you attach to the spine. It’s just the main pages of the journal. Depending on the size of your spine you can have multiple signatures (groups of pages). I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions I can help with! 😁
Thank you for sharing. You explained the process of making a journal beautifully. I am going to try and make one for a friend birthday that’s coming up soon.
Hi,many thanks for sharing this video. Finally someone who can easily explain it to beginners. This has helped me a lot. love from the Netherlands ✂️🖌️✏️🎨🌺💕
Quick Tip: I just wanted to let you know that I also like dying my own items. What you need to do to make them thinner is as they're drying put them in an old book. Don't completely let him dry so let's say you use a blow-dryer or embosser to partial dry it, that's fine but don't completely dry it keep partially damp so when you put it in the book it makes it flat again and if it's a lot of items in your book then all you have to do you know add more books or I add my beads on top of it whatever I have available that's smaller and heavy to weigh it down. Periodically you do still want to pull them out and let them dry and if it seems like they're fluffing up again you just put them back in the book.
I discovered this method of using a manila envelope years ago and used it with a girls group to create mini journals that they were really proud of. I enjoyed your different approach to using the envelope. it really is lovely and I appreciate your thorough explanation of the process which was also relaxing to watch. I see a new junk journal in my near future.
I just gave my niece the different kinds of journals for Christmas, she LOVES them mind you she’s only 4!!! But i think junk journals for most ppl bring out their imagination!
Aww that’s awesome! 😁 You can never start to early with journaling especially for kids. It helps in so many ways. I make them for my kids all the time. Even my 6 yr old son will draw pictures of his dreams (kind of like a dream picture diary lol) in his pac man journal I made him. & I’ve got most of my teenage nieces journaling now too. Lol Happy Holidays to you & your family! 🥳
