    Great footage! Im glad you were able to set this up. Technology has really improved. The time lapse from a few years ago we had to change out the cards almost every day. Looks like it will be a big machine!

      Yeah, we are spoiled today with such great technology!

    How reliable is the fist option? Have you ever taken it down to find out it wasn't working?

      We checked on the cameras every couple of weeks to make sure all was good and it worked out great.

    Those Afidus cameras can solve so many things for me. Thanks Jay P!

    Thanks for sharing your techniques. You may be interested to know that Walt Disney had time-lapse cameras setup on massive towers throughout the property to record the construction of Disneyland in 1954. The videos are available on UA-cam. Incredible foresight way back when.

    Hi- When you have to change the batteries, because you have to physically move the camera, isn't there a perceptible change in the frame position?

    Hello, I am trying to create a time lapse of plants growing over a 10-week period in an indoor setting using supplemental light. Do you have any recommendations? Is the GoPro Hero10 or 11 a good camera choice for this application?

      There are probably too many limitations due to battery life. I would use a full frame camera plugged into a power source. But the easiest solution would be to buy an Afidus time lapse camera, but it only does 2k.

    Question - lost me with the wifi set up - what if the construction site doesn't wi-fi. Do you recommend a hot spot for set up prior to leaving site for the 3weeks or so?

    • @TheSlantedLens
      @TheSlantedLens  2 роки тому

      The Afidus cameras use a closed wifi so you can set them up on your phone or iPad. But when you set them to work I don't believe you can check on them using wifi.

    Cool ideas. I had no idea there were dedicated cameras for long-term time lapse like the Afidus device.

    Thank you for the great info. I've used Brinno cameras for some construction projects in the past, and they were okay. Just ordered a couple of Afidus units for a new project and I'm optimistic about them based on your video. I do notice some heavy artificial sharpening in some of your angles. Is this selectable in the Afidus ap or perhaps something you added in post? Thanks! -AW

      @TheSlantedLens  2 роки тому

      You can adjust the sharpening in the app. They are great cameras. I have been very happy with them.

      We are still working on the time-lapse of the SKB machine install. It will be recording for a few more months. When it is finished we will see if we can share it on our channel. Thanks for your comment!

    hello Sir, May i ask how much I would fee i would charge for a timelapse of a building construction for 2 months. I will be using gopro hero 10.

    • @TheSlantedLens
      @TheSlantedLens  2 роки тому

      I would charge a setup fee to install the cameras. And then a fee for each time you will need to go and change out the cards and batteries. And then a fee for editing the video. Figure your time and what you need to earn for that time.

    I might have missed this but how do you make sure there isn't camera shift when you are changing batteries or cards?

      He not specifically combatting this is seems, other than just generally locking downing the ball head and perhaps being careful not the bump.

    • @TheSlantedLens
      @TheSlantedLens  3 роки тому +3

      The view is so wide and the track is pretty narrow so any shifting is not noticeable.

    This is nothing but plugging product. Shameless grifting. Zero about all the techniques and optimum settings. About the closest you got to being technical was telling us you shoot 1 frame per minute which gives 60 frames an hour. Shameless grifting, and mostly nothing to do with diy .🤢
