the balancing point on the chinese version wasn't right...when the mouse stepped on the plank from the side it would move down making the mouse cautious. The authentic version doesn't allow for that to happen, the mouse has to walk out completely onto the plank before it flips...which makes it a better design.
Not just that. I think the extra weight of the original makes it start slower, and that makes the mice react too late. The chinese one moves so fast, the mice jitter and get away.

I kept replying to the scam ads on Facebook saying they were copies of the trap made by a US family-run business, linking your last video on this issue, and directing people to Rinne traps on Amazon. I got a notice from Facebook saying my post were blocked because they didn't meet their community standards.

I went to the affiliate link and much to my disgust I saw the cheap Chinese knockoff being advertised right underneath the American original, so I left a review warning people not to buy it! I think everyone that watches this video should do the same.
I bought this trap and I am amazed as to how well the Genuine Flip and Slide works. Even on the days that I don't smear some peanut butter on the trap, it still caught mice. No bait, no ramp, and the furry little knuckleheads still found a way to get caught. And it was a 20 in tall drum they had to surmount. Without a doubt, this one is worth the money.!!!
You should have added failed attempts counter alongside the successfully caught mice counter I think. Or a count of times a mice has approached a trap so it's easier to tell what the success rate is
We have a mouse plague over here in australia and im surprised the farmers over here havent bought these trap in mass bulk to easily thin the population, might have to suggest these to my sister in laws parents who are farmers in south australia who are being affected by it

Sadly US patent doesn't protect from foreign companies taking designs and manufacturing it. But selling in US is another think. It is another thing to enforce the patent.
You should include number of missed mice just for certain people who struggles to count heh After all, it's not just the number that mattered. That's dependant on how infested the area are with rats, it's how many rats the trap actually have a chance to catch and have caught.

If you do a comparison again, do a tally for both mice captured and mice escaped. Looks like the original has 0% escape rate because once it tips, there is nothing to catch onto.
i think the fact that the original has better fitting parts makes it better. the mice don't expect there to be a hole under it. the cheap copy on the other hand has holes all over the place that puts the mice on alert, if you add the faster tipping point they just don't go for the bait

Having 2 planks is nice idea and all but them being way too short reduces the gravity on other side from the center and makes mice easier to avoid it even though they are quite dumb

I've always found the old Victor snap-trap very quick and effective. I suppose if you have a farm, or a real mouse infestation the flip trap is what you need. I like the oiled roller design too.
Plenty of Amazon gurus in the US teach how to take popular products and find factories in China to copy them with their Amazon brands. This is a well-known proven method that has made many Americans very rich.
Generally I think the thinner material on the chinese mousetrap makes sense, it's as strong as it needs to be for a mouse. The flip geometry is obviously seriously flawed. Spending a little more for domestic made products is alright.
Are you dealing w/ mice or rats? I think he pointed out in one of the 1st 2 videos abt this (type) of product that it is balanced & designed for mice (although not pointed out, the low ceiling of the yellow mouse head doesn't fit larger rats well at all). Maybe yours are rats?
I try to avoid any product made in China, especially food for humans & animals. I feel purchasing a product made in China is a job potentially lost in the USA. The Chinese government is ruthless when it competes with the United States & other free nations. Cheaper is not better as is evident with this copy of an American designed & made product.

I purchased the original and caught all the mice in less than a week. No more mice issues here. Love it.

Are you dealing w/ mice or rats? I think he pointed out in one of the 1st 2 videos abt this (type) of product that it is balanced & designed for mice (although not pointed out, the low ceiling of the yellow mouse head doesn't fit larger rats well at all). Maybe yours are rats?
Mice. Have tried many times. Nothing. I would not recommend this product at all....
Of course it didn't work it had a cat's face on the lid tipping the mice off it was dangerous.
I try to avoid any product made in China, especially food for humans & animals. I feel purchasing a product made in China is a job potentially lost in the USA. The Chinese government is ruthless when it competes with the United States & other free nations. Cheaper is not better as is evident with this copy of an American designed & made product.

Great video. Before watching this video, I almost bought the Chinese version, thinking that the double trap door would be superior. Thankfully, I went with the American made version.

Well Shawn, you gotta understand that the price is what you pay for! The cheaper one is a fraction of the price and still got some mice
