You do know that Florida now has the highest inflation in the country. It's the reason why a lot of people are leaving the state. Homeowners insurance alone has risen to 4x the national average.

For instance lots of blue cities avoid bankruptcy each year by getting bailed out by the government. Should they pay back all of that money and the backlog of money they received? I left NY 1974. Recently I saw a story about a home there that listed for just a little more than mine. Zillow said the taxes were $42,500 a year. Mine are under 5k. Tell me how great NY is.

I don't find that is necessarily true. They tend to come here, and open business and fully understand why they left New York. I am very grateful for those that have I've known that opened pizza places, because without them we'd have to eat garbage like Pizza Hut.

My son came and visited from Oakland, California during Covid. He was so scared to take his mask off and once he realized he could go into businesses and live without a mask he said wow mom I forgot that I live in a free country. He was so grateful to get his senses back a few weeks he was here and he had only moved to Oakland two years prior. That's how brainwashed he had become.

I moved to Florida in 2019 from NY and I never really thought I would do so. I never wanted to because I am a cold weather person who needs all 4 seasons and I really hate the heat. As I come upon my fifth anniversary in Florida later this year, I can say I will never live anywhere else. I would rather deal with some Summer heat and have my personal freedoms protected than live under Democrat chaos and high taxes. To all those who are leaving Florida I say so long. It takes several years for your blood to thin out and get more accustomed to the heat. But it's only about 100 days during the summer. AC is a must. The ok there 9 months make it all worth it. Shorts year round beats freezing to deathnin the winter. I have zero home heating bills in the winter versus the home heating oil we had to have up north.
Yes hurricanes can be an issue but the last cat 5 we had was Andrew in 1992. The Carolinas get hit with far more hurricanes than we do.

MYTH: Floridians have thinner blood.
"But your blood doesn't "thin," per se. Doctors say what is happening is that the capillaries in the skin dialate in warm weather, so it takes longer for them to constrict in cold weather. You feel colder longer, but it's a tolerance thing. Your blood is actually not "thinner."👍

As a Floridian, at first I was annoyed by all of the ignorance that gets spread around about the state of FL via social media and the legacy media, but as I have gotten older and wiser, I realize that it is actually a blessing, because if everyone were to see the truth of how amazing it is to live in this state compared to others, then everyone would move here and it would be even more crowded than it already is. We retired to Florida a little over 7 years ago, but due to health reasons we had to move back closer to family. I will be the first to say that Florida is a great state to live in, much nicer than PA.
I have to disagree, but only because the heat and humidity killed me during the short time I lived there. Climate-wise I prefer PA (where I live now); my ideal would be the Colorado Front Range, but that's too far from family. Politically I'd prefer Florida, but it's not worth going back to dropping from heat exhaustion a few times every summer. I thought after passing 60 I'd be more attracted to warmer climates, but I still feel best in the 50-65 degrees range, and colder than that is way better than hotter. So y'all are safe from at least one potential invader 😁.
