@@HalifaxInsider Bao is Mandarin for bun. so calling something bao buns is like saying bun buns. of course I'm just teasing, as I'm sure a great many people aren't aware of this! I just thought it sounded funny. 😄
Vines Fusion has excellent Indian and Italian. The pasta dishes are good and they have good portions. It's on the Dartmouth side across from the ferry terminal.
Locals - what would you add to this list?
Westcliff Diner!
Not sure what I’d add, but I’d remove bicycle thief, they’ve gone down hill hard the last few times I’ve gone.
@@atlanticpunkhardcore so good!
@@frederickmooney2581 interesting! I haven’t had that experience but it’s been a few months since I’ve been there now
The wooden monkey
La Piazza on Chebucto Road. Been there many times and it never disappoints. A must for your list.
I eat there often. Great spot!
the bun buns! a little repetitive, but I'll try them! 😁 thanks for a nice list. I'm looking forward to trying some of these places on my next visit 😊
I think you’re referring to the “Bao Buns” at Studio East! They’re incredible 🤤

You learn something new every day! Haha
You managed to leave off every one of my favourite restaurants minus Amano. No Sals? No Narrows? No Doraku ? No Mckelvies? No Mappatura?
Yeah, I would like to see more of the “hole in the wall” places, not the boogie upscale spots
@@iSaiiri Doraku is def of hole in the wall . The narrows is special .

The Great Wall has some tasty Chinese dishes, downtown Halifax.
any recommendations for authentic Mexican and/or Indian food? many thanks :)
There’s a restaurant in Dresden row (or a street over) called RASA… it’s gonna blow your mind! Best Indian food I’ve ever had
Taco Loko is great in the North End!
El Este is my fav Mexican place. It's in Dartmouth, but might be opening a location in downtown Halifax.
@@sheenabernett4472 Rasa and Tako Loko are great! Would highly recommend both
I will second a couple that were already mentioned.. RASA and Tako Loko are both fantastic!
If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all. You're not speaking to my generation that live in Halifax.
