As I planned my trip around the downtown (with a tour of Peggy’s Cove last time I was 10), I chose the Hotel Halifax. It was not the cheapest price I got booking 5 month in advance, nor the closest to the activities and restaurants I want to try. Chose it on other ratings on websites and what they offer. Wonder if I chose right as many of the hotels offered just as much. Criteria:
This is the best Halifax travel/food content on youtube. I've been here since the middle of February and fell in love with the city instantly. Very informative and entertaining and authentic
I lived in Halifax over 25 years ago and yes I like Donairs too. I will be making a trip there this late summer and definitely will look for a Donair. From videos Halifax looks a lot more vibrant now but a lot of the familiar old charming bits are still there.
Since I’m not renting a car, and staying on the edge of downtown core (Hotel Halifax). Most videos show you can get most places walking 30 mins or so… but an I rent and how much for about 4 days?
Said it BEFORE DAVE & MANI! You even responded..NEXT TIME YOU ARE HERE I WILL SHOW YOU SOOOO MUCH MORE! Im gonna dm you now to remind you ;) You guys missed sooooo much!
I'm not that fond of donair sauce either, but for an awesome donair, go to Euro Pizza above the Armdale Rotary on the St Margaret's Bay Road and order it with tzatziki sauce instead of donair sauce. The garlic goes way better with the spiced meat. Best donair around. Nick the owner makes his own tzatziki and pita in-house, and was responsible for bringing donairs to Halifax.
We are going to NS this summer, thanks for the recommendations, but if I took a shot every time you said "so good", I'd be hammered by the end of the video.
We are coming to Halifax the end of Sept for a weekend. I cannot wait and this is a cool video. As an American, I can honestly say the food I have had in Canada is just as good as Europe. QC has an amqazing food scene and Toronto has the best india, sushi amd chinese I have ever had
Loved the tour of Tracey's hometown. Reminded me a bit of Bergen, Norway, at the waterfront. Did you find driving confusing after Kenya? Haha! No traffic in comparison, but driving on the other side of the road? You guys sound & look so happy! Could hear the cold chattering coming through your voice! Hehe! 🙃🥰⚘
Your channel was recommended to me today and I agree with your Halifax foodie list! In the last few years, there have been so many restaurants come and go, and I've worked at a few Halifax restaurants in my day, so I really understand how there's so much foodie culture here. I still live in HRM but I'm no spring chicken anymore, so it's not as easy for me to explore the foodie scene. I appreciate channels like this highlighting the awesome places to eat here. Where do you guys live now? I have a few recommendations for you if you're still in HRM!!
@@DaveMani Kenya, how cool!! Would love to travel to Kenya someday. Any jobs for expats over thataway? Coming up awfully dry here lately. Next time you're in NS, I'll take you out for a cup of my favourite coffee!!
Dave and Tracey the new location for Flynn’s is in Spryfield and it’s already opened I know you did this before you went back to Kenya I’m glad it’s opened I’m in Spryfield it’s the best
I am going to Halifax late April. can you tell me what font you used for the name at the beginning of your video? (want it for the top of my itinerary). including Neptune Theatre which is the main part of my vk/trip to halifax, what else is there late april?
The font is just the Halifax logo used by the city. In terms of what to do well the waterfront should be more up and running in April so that is super cool. If you like nightlife than I suggest doing a little bar tour to the lower deck, dirty nellys and many more as well. :)
I’ll add it to my list, although I don’t think I’ll get to most of my place to eat on my list. Did add that Mexican restaurant in the video for dinner after seeing Billy Elliot @ Neptune Theatre. The guacamole looked that good. I’ll find a new spot for The Bicycle thief. I seen your previous vid and going to peace by chocolate on my first hours in Halifax as it will be my birthday and I think chocolate instead of cake.
Only 🇨🇦 🍁 would have ice cream in the middle of winter 🤣👍 great content luv you guys, never disappoint. 👍 BTW for a true authentic Döner kebab u should definitely visit 🇹🇷.
Funny I am from Ontario and came here tried the donair and thought it was awful and horrible sauce they tried to give it to me for pizza also and I was like No thanks! Ill make my own garlic dip.
@@DaveMani I take all my first time Halifax visitors to Tony’s. Have you gone to the Westcliffe on the corner of Bayers road and Oxford? If not go and try the cheeseburger. One of the last old school diners.

Really?!? Most people who are not original'y from there don't like donair haha. I wasn't born there and I sure hate donairs! 🤣
Love this vid, Halifax is officially on my bucket list.
It's a gem! :)
The baguette at LF is like what I've had in Paris... so good. Definitely best bakery in HFX.
We really liked it too :)
WOW, Nova Scotia is beautiful! Thank you so much for this wonderful video with our #M66R7 ebike! 😍

Its amazing :) 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
You guys gotta make a video on best bars in Halifax . Definitely try bearlys on Barrington street. Every Wednesday it’s karaoke
That is actually a super good idea!
Great video, beatiful city. Reminded me of the guy who got his guitar broken by united.
Thank you.
"Tony's, the best donair in town" those are fighting words around here 😂😂
Hahaha according to me, "best donair" is not a thing cause I don't like those at all! Hahaha

Its a good place to be for sure :)
Love your energy, you two are great. I don't think donairs are meant to be eaten sober!

The best tacos are not there, are at Bar Sofia, huge tacos, after you try them, you will never go back to any other place, trust me.

Sadly food is more expensive for restaurants as well so they have no choice... Hopefully the situation will get better this year!
