Hi! The answer is that the best brokerages depend on where you live and what your goals are - I show you the process by which you can choose it. Sorry if it seems clickbaity - the thing is, I get annoyed by videos with "best brokerage" titles which give bad advice by pushing a few brokerages with affiliate links (so the reviewer gets a cut no matter if the brokerage is actually suitable for the person). I wanted to provide a more detailed answer for people!
Interactive Brokers is pretty good for me so far, but they require you to open a margin account (which requires you to meet minimum criteria) in order to purchase certain instruments, eg mutual funds They could also be a bit less technically complex
IB can be quite technically complex, yes - it can be hard even to find a specific ETF, which is theoretically a simple thing to do. I've been able to buy mutual funds through them without a margin account, though - that doesn't seem quite right.
Naive question: why would you use a brokerage firm instead of your own (trusted) bank? You can buy 000's of ETF;s via your bank. Am I missing something?
Which brokerage would you recommend in Spain? I’d like to invest in safe low risk funds, long term (30 years +). It’s really hard to find info for Spain
Is Revolut a good app for ETFs in Latvia? Want to start investing 10-20 € per week, any tips? Thank you for the content, it's really inspiring. Looking forward to the webinar!
Saxo's fee structure varies a lot by country. Also, they reduced and eliminated many fees earlier this year. In some markets they still have a custody or maintenance fee as a major drawback, in many others not. But generally since the last big fee reduction I like them a lot more and have moved some of my own portfolio to them.
Hi Tom! I am fan of your content. I am living temporarily in the US and recently opened an account with Schwab. I was planning on being a long term investor, so they do have an international account I can 'transfer to' once I leave the US. Do you have any thoughts on Schwab international account? And would you recommend: 1.Continue to invest with them once I go back to Europe 2. Sell and close the account and start over with a local brokerage account 3. Keep the investment with Schwab but make new investments in the European stock market with a local brokerage? I also worried about taxes on my US ETFs if I keep them, once I move to Europe. Thank you!
Hello Tom. I'm from Portugal, and I wanted to know your opinion on Lightyear? I've actually seen 1 or 2 webinars of yours and you mentioned that you use it as well. I have been using it and so far it is ok...
hey tom im currently in poland and i have no clue who i should pick to trade with here . i previously used webull as i was in us for a bit but now moved back to poland
Keep making one of these every week with a variation on the title, e.g. Best brokerage (not eToro) Best brokerage (not Freedom24) Best brokerage (not Trading212) Best brokerage (not interactive brokers) Lol Jokes aside good video. I use Interactive Brokers.
Lol, I think saxo is more suitable for day traders. Low transaction fees and inactive fees are not a problem if you trade daily. But the custody fees is just not worth it.
I'm a foreign student in europe but I'm back home because I couldn't pay expenses. Now that my residence permit is expired do I still have to pay taxes ?
Pretty sure any local option available is a bad deal here in Serbia. Is there a way I can hire a broker that is based in another country? How exactly does that work?
Nice video. I made my first million investing a lump sum in stocks trading a newbie, with the help of a licensed FM I met at a finance seminar in NY who agreed to trade for me. It's best to work with a pro.
I will agree with you. My friend in Canal Winchester who works with this smart lady Erlinia J Barrett, referred me to her & I looked her up & reached out. I started with a 120k in a few months I've made over 615k.
Can you make a video for people to trust ETFs? I have a stomach feeling it could be scam-like. How do I know whether my money was really invested into shares and that the brokerage didnt just take my money and issue a paper saying "i own XY stocks?"
It has many good features (low costs, good UX, good reputation) and some drawbacks (fast-growing Fintech, not yet a major financially strong company, not available in many countries). At the end of the day, you have to decide if a broker matches your personal needs / preferences, which is a very individual decision.
Saxo have gone crazy with their new fees. They are charging 9 dollar minimum commission fee, which is 20% in a 100 dollar stock, considering both the buy sell commisions.
Hey youve helped me a lot. But i have a question one some of the etf's it doesn't say dist or acc. So i have nu idea wether it is accumulative or distributing. And i have no cleu if it can be neither. However on just etf for the same ETF it does say Acc so i dont know anymore. I think i formulated the question really weird but ok.
Always use the ISIN code to uniquely identify the ETF. If you look up the ETF by ISIN and find it on the fund provider's website, it will always say if it is accumulating ("capitalizing") or distributing.
Hi Tom, I am currently living in Luxembourg and I am using trade republic to regularly buy ETF MSCI World USD (Acc.) What do you think about trade republic? Do you recommend it? What do you think about the ETF? Do you have some recommendations for people from Luxembourg in terms of taxes and other issues? Keep doing interesting content :) Wish you well! :)
anyone has any idea how to find all this info for example in Greece? is there a regulated site that for example shows each countrys tax fees and laws etc? Thanks in advance. I just got my 1 mil from my restaurant business and i want to invest but i wont untill i understand everything in a decent level. I will chill and read for 6 months untill i feel like i have a clue but fuck me man its so hard to find specific info online.
Well, of course I'm biased, but this lack of info is exactly why I built my training program - the Index Masterclass. We've got a lot of members in your situation who've used the program to figure out what to do next. You can check out the first free module (webinar) at go.indexmasterclass.com
@@thetomcrosshill its actually not that hard if you have the time. the issue with Gr is that there is alot of gray areas especially if you make a company where you really need an expect with regional knowledge that can assist you make the best decision possible. The key from the little i know at the moment is to make a company then under it combine smaller ones and divide their income in a certain way where there is huge tax reliefs. You can use the company as an entity therefore even if you get bankrupt they cant do anything to you.
I live in the Netherlands, which brokerage would you recommend? I am mainly interested in investing in the Vanguard FTSE All-World ETF (ACC). ACC because I believe ACC is better for tax purposes in the Netherlands. In most of you videos you recommend interactive brokers but you mention that they are more complicated for beginners. Therefore, which one would you recommend? Scalable, trade republic, interactive brokers?
In the Netherlands from what I know both local and foreign brokerages are popular. IB is a bit complicated but cheap. DEGIRO is actually originally from the Netherlands so they should be well adjusted to the local market - perhaps something to consider. As to ACC vs DIST, I can't give individual tax advice, but from what I know about Netherlands "box 3" tax, I don't see a big difference between accumulating and distributing (and in fact Netherlands-based "fiscale beleggingsinstelling" distributing funds may have some tax advantages).
Hi! My core investment webinar is free of charge for anyone to join. We do have a paid course which is quite involved so I present all the details at the end of the webinar, but the free webinar itself is pretty cool and people usually appreciate it!
I was so confused by this. I was going to look at the course info and went to the site and...why is there a webinar info? Where is the course info? Do I have to sign to yet another newsletter to get the course info in what it looks like in a week or so? I double checked the URL to see if it was right, but yeah. I'll wait until the info is clearer, simpler and more transparent.
Hi Tom, thank you for your great work! Could you do a video how often its good to review the portfolio and how many ETFs its good to choose for the long term investments (10-20 years)? Since it seems that they are many good ones but to invest into too many doesnt seem to have much sense.
If you live in Europe and want to start investing, I've got a free webinar you will enjoy - sign up here! indexmasterclass.com/webinar
Hi Tom. Really explanatory video. I line in Greece. Which brokerage would you recommend to start with?local ones?
Click bait title. You never mention in your video which are the best brockerages

At least you could’ve given some example brokerages or recommendations… like Scale Capital, Trade Republic, etc. 😅
The name says exactly what it is: a guide to choosing the best brokerage. Read before you judge :)
Are you people daft? He says “how to choose” not which one to choose. Do your homework!
How is it a clickbait, the title says " The best way to choose"? You choose yourself, don't you?
Very informative video. Thank you!

Any suggestion for a brokerage in Finland? Appreciate your knowledge sharing!
This guy is not gonna say it, so for almost everyone the best broker will probably be IBKR since it kinda has everything and little fees.

Hey Tom. What do you think of buying stocks using Trading 212 in 2024?
Hi. not sure why Saxo was called out, but at least here in Denmark, they don't charge any inactivity fees

Kudos, great video.
