      The medallion fund was something everyone could invest in at first. Only in 1993, after a few years of ridiculous results did they change it so that only employees can own a part of it, Truth is it functioned like an ordinary ETF at first!

    • @blueicer101
      @blueicer101 2 місяці тому

      @@costa2018 I think his strategy was to just get fundamental/original thinkers who are just faster mentally, thus any ideas in the current market could be considered and then outperformed simply outperformed. Just barely staying 1 step ahead of the competition means everything in social games such as the stock market and investments. It's like if 2 people swung swords at each other and 1 person has an inch extra reach. The difference might be small but someone's head is getting chopped while the other is unscathed. So it's no wonder that they invented ETF's before ETF's even existed.

This won't happen; an increase and a crash are coming. There will be more negative portfolios this 2nd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. I lost over $80k when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. It just taught me to be a better investor now that I understand more of what could go wrong. It took me over two years of being in the market, I'm really grateful I found one source to recover my money, at least $10k profits weekly. Thanks Charlotte Miller.

    My opinion for young people is you need to be both a dividend investor and a growth investor, basically how i made my first million also i use an FA, Olivia Rene Reyes. I started by investing $70k with her and she tripled it in 2 months and since then we've been doing business but i digress, so for example if I just got a 1000% gain on Tesla and then pulled 85% of the money out and went into a load of more stable dividend stocks like CVX So I would say diversify, but also use those growth opportunities to build the capital to invest in the dividend payers (or in cash flowing real estate)

The soft landing narrative is gaining traction, making this big recession everyone is calling for less likely. Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.

    Fun fact, Jim Simon's often touted 66% per year is BS. Do the math. If he started with $1000 in 1988, and got 66% per year, that would, as of 2020 (42 years), be over $1 trillion. His track record has never been confirmed. He won't let anyone know how he does it, aside from a few insiders.
    You and I both know Jim is not a trillionaire.
    You know, Jim's story reminds me a lot of another story from not that long ago, involving a man who "made off" with people's money. When the returns are that good, the only people asking questions are usually ignored until after it collapses.
