DEADSY TIL WE DIE
Despite the fact that musicians abhor comparisons to other talent, I do find that Deadsy's second release, draws on the depth of young-Black Sabbath. It is more rock now, less goth. One may hear RUSH similarities in the intense bass and extended chorus. The synchronized rhythms and beats are Alice & Chain-ish, with appropriate angst of Guns & Roses.
You may hear intensity in the impending harmony of Queensryche. You will hear Stone's Paint it Black and bits of Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song in Time. Even in Black Dreams, a distortion technique brings a touch of mainstream with Bon Jovi.
I didn't use to love Deadsy.
I started listening when I heard Cher & Elijah's version of Crimson & Clover, a cut above Tommy James & the Shondells. And got curious about Elijah's music (P. Exeter Blue I). I liked Mansion World on Commencement. I liked Key To Gramercy Park. And Flowing Glower hinted at the depth of original lyrics to follow.
The second track on the latest release, Carrying Over, is better than a continuation.
It is masterful, as is the amazing title track, Phantasmagore. Now I love Deadsy.
They are definitely Better Than I Know. The haunting medleys can transport me to Urantia-Land, drug free, anytime. Many are thinking they could win a World Music Award for Best Original English Lyrics.
And Media Future (myspace.com/media future) says
Deadsy has the BEST SPACE on MySpace.

**************************
Before his band DEADSY was born, I saw him, at age 14, play with CHER in Salem, Oregon. It poured down rain the entire time, but he never stopped once or even flinched or looked unhappy.
Incredible spirit and determination.
Deserving of his recent success.
Remarkable song and awesome solo demos.

Have you heard his solos and his duet Crimson & Clover? And his DEADSY CD Phantasmagore? His low baritone voice &$^%^# AMAZING!
Im late on becoming a Deadsy fan. My ex used to listen to them, they were her favorite band, and the only song she would ever play for me was Gramercy Park. After that, I kind of forgot about them, but a friend showed me one of their other songs and I loved it. Now I've been listening to them regularly, and i really enjoy their sound. It sucks they arnt a band anymore, I just hope Elijah keeps going with music. Thanks for sharing this!
I fell in love with Deadsy only two years ago, I listen to them every day, they keep me up and motivated. I wish they would make a new album and tour so I could have pics of myself with them and get to experience them live.....Deadsy forever Zelds

Absolutely; the nice thing about a new genre of music on the edge of something new, is that everyone can interpret something for themself out of it !

Elijah's voice has resonance, depth, intensity and an alluring register to awake me... and keep me on my toes with a vivid imagination...and inspire me to internal strength and depth causing desire that yt might not want me to describe...

You are RIGHT!!! Lotsa HUGz!!!
I'm a 5 new bands a week kind of a guy for at least 15 years and I've played stuff myself a bit but rarely do you get such a masterpiece. This song has it all : rythm, melody , harmonies, lyrics , drive and most of all true FEELINGS. I've been listening to this one for over a year now , at least once a day and it can't get me bored. I am as close to calling Phantasmagore the best song I've ever heard as it is possible :) it also helped me pull through a nasty break up. So much power in 5 mins :)
Thanks SO MUCH!! :)
good stuff love this song
That was very nice! Thank You Meh Chuk'Sus!!

Yes,I LOVE Elijah & DEADSY
THANKS!
Yes, I def feel that one of the biggest to an artist and musician is for others to understand the message. I am reading Rick Springfield's bio Late, Late At Night and this seems to be a prevailing reason -to connect- that one feels pulling them when they chose to perform live.
fasho, also awesome slideshow for the song man, fucking awesome.
Thank You Soo Much!!
I just LOVE the beats & ominous chords in combo with his VOICE! *SCREAMS, "Halloween, HERE We Come!"*
Thanks! This is original not a cover and WHATTA CATCHY TUNE! DEADSY is so GREEAT!!! LOVE it!!!
A display of true unusual dedication in today's music world, this band took the unprecedented step of actually making personal phone calls to their fans termed "Legions," during their Tour.
In addition to meeting countless fans and loyal supporters for hours for autographs, poster and CD signings, and posing for photos.
THANK You! I sure appreciate the compliment tho this was one of my first vids and it is not too sophisticated in techniques! :)
thank you for this!:)
-Rossco-
this song is absolutely amazing!
Ok YES I heartily agree! Let's HEAR it for the Legion Pics Video here?!!
This song is incredible & looks like so many fans. Don't know why it didn't get more airplay

You're always welcome. So glad you LIKE it!!
The tone, key, vocals, tune...
FLOORS me on the song
Eerie but Stunning, Mesmerizing
YEaHhhh! It's Grrr-REat!!! THANKS!!
I never could have imagined a song this amazing. I had not heard them in four years, and the level of their development did astound me.
I love the lyric of the song.
especially: "come cosmic thunder sip the potion".
I like how he referes money as "Potion".
'cause money can seem enchanting somehow and destroy the beauty of the untouched
well thank you verrry much! :)
The reason I like this is everyone looks sooo EFFEN HAPPY
Oh. It's alright. Thanks! :)
I am positive it will be brilliant!! :)
@Offspringfan64 You're welcome. The comments assist viewers in understanding and at times with questions. In them, you may discover some things about the band interesting to you, or reasons why people create the way they do. Band photos and some feminine images sometimes compliment audio. Max Cavalera now with Soulfly and formerly Sepultura, who released A-Lex on 26 January 2009, being the first album without any Cavalera member? It is a new concept album based on the book A Clockwork Orange. The album was recorded at Trama Studios in São Paulo!
I know what you mean! They LOOK GOOD --AND sound GREAT!!
one of my favorites off the Phantasmagore CD
this one and the ballad, Carrying Over
they freakin RAWWK
Oh. Yes, if Elijah likes that, I would like that.
Thanks for explaining! :-)
"Friends" was made available on Archives no longer open and to Legions through a Promo at one point.
thanks! :)
You are all right! The person who made this video is not blaming DEADSY for the realities of the music world or all the hot girls and the temptations that exist. It will exist until the end of time.
i totally understand. i wish i could have been there believe me.
Oh maan. Yeah I have heard his stuff. Long way down is soooo good. He has such a unique voice and the things in his music just captivate me. Better than you know is one of my fav songs of all time. I always find myself singing it. Where in the world is Elijah? Germany right?
Gracias!! Estoy Muy Excellente!!!
It was actually 2001 I believe. "The Key To Gramercy Park", for which a video was made, directed by friend and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, was the band's second song with Jonathan Davis. Davis invited the band to join the 2001 Family Values Tour" Wikipedia
Their old stuff was nice. very spacey. very SHpooky. Always did like Deadsy!!! Do you guys have the key to Gramercy Park?
I cannot agree but everyone is entitled...when I heard Orgy the first time, I thought it was DEADSY. The song, "Platinum," blew me away. But when I heard this song, I was FLOORED. I listened to it over and over for DAYS :)
LOVE the riffs in this impending, addictive melody. Elijah Blue Allman's voice sounds amazing. This CD title track and the other DEADSY CD Commencement are individual, unique, alternative & rockin examples of the genre they created, "UNDERCORE."
Yes, I fully agree! Much of Sales is deemed by strategic marketing, IMHO. That was my bid in hopes someone would provide the comparisons! I don't know the figures.
Sometimes, thanks!
Oh I do think Commencement was very unique and has some wonderful songs. I think the reason I favor the Phantasmagore CD so is because I really noticed they had developed in musical ability. So much smoother and I just like the rock style, enthralling and engrossing.
that is very cool; I will put a link your page for Elijah's Trapezoids project too
@xs7701 It is, and they did give credit. It was credit to "No Future (Get Off the Babysitter)" though, another Tangerine Dream song that used the same bit.
yeah i know. Still, i like them and the project is just to show how to make a good slideshow so i can do it on anything i want. I am choosing to do it on one of my fav bands, weither they are together now or not :D
