Rod Building - Feather Inlay

I decided to try my hand at applying a feather to my rod. This is a feather I picked up while walking the dog. The colors in the feather came close to matching the threads in the guides and the wrap. I applied the feather to the rod using color preserver (CP) and then three coats of epoxy.

what paint do you use to color the fur

The feather is one I found in the yard. There is no paint.
