3D Printed Articulated Raccoon
This 3D print is of the Articulated Raccoon designed by MatMire Makes. I printed this at a size of 75% from the original and it took 9 hours and 20 minutes to complete. This is a well designed print and should hold up very well playing with it as all of the joints seem to be very sturdy.

Hand Tied Split Tail Crappie Jig
Переглядів 29День тому
I decided to attempt to create a hand tied split tail jig. This has taken many attempts and I'm not sure I still have the process down. I made this jig with a 1/8 oz sickle hook jig head, moonlight chenille, and hot flo pink neck hackle. I was able to catch quite a few good sized crappie on this jig and it will be one of my go to jigs. You can pick up your supplies at Woods and Waters Outdoors....

Hand Tied Bluegill Jig - All Black

Do not throw your print away if gears are stuck. Drill the center gear off and print the only this one as 2 halves divided horizontally resized 85%. Keep the hole as same size. You can easily plug these 2 halves at center and use your guide.

For the planetary gear assembly I didn't have to adjust horizontal expansion and everything "cracked" loose after the print, with just mild pressure from a 1/4inch hex Allen key. I used Cura v5.4.0's Super Quality mode which is 0.12mm and I bumped up infill to 30% on my stock Creality Ender 3 v2. This was using Inland PLA+. Bed temp 52C. Nozzle 215C. The assembly then rotated with moderately strong resistance so I smeared Gojo pumice hand cleaner gel into the assembly and rotated by hand for 30 minutes. Noticing only slight resistance at that point, I used fast tap water flow to thoroughly rinse the abrasive and now it spins super easily. You can flick it and it spins awhile, but it's not too loose. An earlier attempt with -0.16 Horizontal Expansion had so much slop in the gears it would jam randomly.

Thanks for the input. It's always good to have multiple solutions. I, along with others, have way too many ways to make this fail, so having different ways to make it work only helps.

This looks super helpful! Do you have an STL to share?

I have the STL file but honestly I do not have a way to share it. I think what I will do is in the future create a video of the FreeCad process that hopefully others could follow.

@@thegnewguy You can always post it to Thingiverse! But for now, I will have to design my own! Cheers!

Why does no one make an add on lock ring for the reel seat?

I'm not sure. I will admit that I have had a reel get loose. I might look into designing something on a 3D printer.
