- I take a walk in Hanoi, Vietnam from the Cat Linh Metro Station to my AirBnB near the old quarter. Along the way I also try to get into Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, but got turned away by security and had to make my way around. I also get a good view of Quan Thanh Temple and Trúc Bạch Lake along the way.

A saying in Vietnam: "Chuồn chuồn bay thấp thì mưa, bay cao thì nắng, bay vừa thì râm" (dragonfly flies low rain, fly high sunny, fly medial cloudy - rain soon). The place you said "structure is not too sound", that's very controversial, so much debating on protecting the last perfect survival of French factory structure. Unfortunately they approved the new 11 storeys modern hotel, people hope the walls incorporate to the base of the new hotel, seeing they demolished all but the walls remain, hopefully they listen to the public.
A big hotel you passed by in the first 5mins of the video, also built on a French factory and they managed to protect the tall brick chimney tower in front of the hotel.
Ba Dinh square is in front of the mausoleum, the other monument is for the Unknown Soldiers. Right beside it, behind the National Assembly Hall, on corner street is the Thang Long Citadel excavation site, you can buy ticket to see the former ground of the citadel and many ancient wells, this is apart from the citadel you visited.
I got nervous when you're around Ba Dinh area, that's place is scary, it's like if you looked inside my beautiful mansions I will eat you. Cool video, thank you and stay safe.
