Mentioned in ancient texts and past games as the Hero King. A man from a bygone era, so old that no traces of its name exist. His will was so powerful that he could wield Soul Edge and not be influenced by its corrupting properties, however, this power led to his son becoming jealous of him. Arcturus would take Soul Edge for himself to prove himself to his father, however, he was not strong enough and Soul Edge corrupted him, forcing Algol to battle and defeat his son, fatally wounding him in the process. Filled with grief about his actions he, with the help of various sages, created a sword to counter the effects of Soul Edge, Soul Calibur. To complete the sword he sacrificed his own spirit to be sealed within the Astral Chaos. Due to Algol's thirst for power and the restlessness of his soul, the sword slowly started to become similar to Soul Edge. (His soul created Elysium, a being similar to Inferno in Soul Edge). To suppress and purify the sword it was given to a hidden tribe and over the centuries various rituals were conducted to force Algol into a slumber and to seal the power of the sword. (The same tribe Zasalamel was in before he stole the sword and it somehow ended up being in the Ling Sheng-Su temple as the sacred treasure Krita-Yuga). When Soul Edge and Soul Calibur clashed in the lost cathedral, the immense surge of power within both swords finally awoke Algol from his slumber. After absorbing a fraction of the released power he created himself a new physical body and created a physical mirage of his old 'Tower of Glory', this time now a 'Tower of Remembrance'. If Algol were to keep his physical body and tower he would need to absorb more of the power of the swords, now he sits atop the tower, waiting for strong warriors to be drawn towards him. He used a small remainder of the power he absorbed to create weapons based on Soul Edge and Soul Calibur.
Stage 1: The Gathering
-Kilik (The last survivor from the Ling Sheng-Su temple massacre. A place where Soul Calibur was a sacred treasure)
-Rock (A warrior renowned for his power)
-Taki (Slayer and sealer of Demons and oddities)
Stage 2: Azure Knight
-Nightmare (The Wielder of Soul Edge) (Algol was powerful enough to resist the swords influence)
-Tira (Trying to find a new host for Soul Edge)
-Solnhofen (Once a member of the Birds of Passage, a European assassination organisation now a servant to Tira)
-Dürer (A powerful mercenary who became a knight and later an ally to Wolfkrone. After the King of Wolfkrone was malfested by the evil seed, Dürer was sent out to investigate the origin of the event. During his travel, he ran into Nightmare who destroyed Dürer's squad including his sons. Dürer escaped and recounted the information about Cervantes' defeat and the Azure Knight before becoming malfested and a servant of Soul Edge)
Stage 3: Hands of Judgement (Bonus Character)
-Angol Fear (A being from outer space)
Stage 4: Uninvited Guest
-Zasalamel (The 'Puppet Master') (Once stole Soul Calibur, removing it from the protective gaze of the hidden tribe, burdened with sealing Algol)
-Arcturus (An illusion of Algol's son, created by Zasalamel)
-Mitsurugi (Looking for a strong opponent) (A worthy opponent for Algol)
Stage 5: Last Key
-Siegfried (The Wielder of Soul Calibur) (The blade that holds his soul, the key to his full resurrection)
Algol is not accompanied by anyone.
The ending should fade to black and then show the text but for some reason, it doesn't. It can be interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes though
