Clip from the final episode of the series.Buddy goes to the lumber yard with her father and is smitten with the sales clerk, whom she asks out on a date.
It really sucks, a great quality classic series like this isn't airing on reruns today, not only for the pop culture generation, but also for a new generation to witness 70's tv programming at its best. Make to petition Antenna TV or MeTV to air the show
This means so much to me; I am responding many years after this was posted but am deep in the grip of nostalgia over this time in television and our culture in general; just miss it so much suddenly as the years march by and the world gets crazier__ 7/4/.2017
OMG, you have NO idea how long I have been trying to find "Family" episodes! Thank you! I see that you uploaded them at the end of last year. I cannot understand why only the first two seasons are for sale on DVD. I was able to check them out from a local library but I would love to see the last three seasons. Do you or does anyone know another way to obtain it? Even digitally would be fine. I am wondering if Net Flix will ever carry them. Also "One Day at a Time" eps from later seasons. Thanks!
The musician John Rubenstein, who also made appearances as Jeff, Nancy's ex husband, did not want to relinquish musical rights. He penned the series opening and closing themes and perhaps the 'between' tracks as well and had a long, drawn out lawsuit over the rights.
I worship you for posting this. I have the only dvd set released, but nothing past season 2. I am dying to see more episodes, especially with Annie (Quinn Cummings) and of course every Kristy episode..loved this series SO MUCH...Thank you.
@g3burns Exactly. It was a Wednesday. ABC burned off four episodes after March 1980 -- apparently after cancellation -- that made the 1979-80 season the last for "Family." Also: The great Kristy McNichol, who won supporting-actress Emmys for the 1976-77 and 1978-79 seasons, joined 1977-78 winner Sada Thompson by having moved up to lead actress. (Winner was Barbara Bel Geddes, as Miss Ellie, for "Dallas.")
@@precious4111 - James Broderick’s lifespan was March 7, 1927-November 1, 1982. ABC’s “Family” was broadcast, over a period of four years and five television seasons, from March 9, 1976-June 25, 1980.
I love this show soo classy and idve loved to had parents like these unfountunetly 😢 mine were nothing at all like this. My step dad was crazy. And avery baad drug addict and alcoholic and mu mom worked at the hospital. As a nurse so we got left. To be baby sat. When we were little. By that damn jetk. I hated him. I forgave him. He died of throught cancer. And. Alcolism. He never could get streight. Very sad. God bless everyone its not. Worth it. Itll eat you up. Inside. Let it and let GOD HAVE. IT. SERIOUSLY. JUST BREATHE. 😊❤❤
10:57 Buddy describes him as "six foot four, BLONDE hair..." Maybe it's my computer, but he doesn't look blonde to me. Audrey Pfeiffer is blonde, but not that guy.
Love. Christie micnicle she is a amazing talent what evet happened to her enybody remember that gtreat movie little darlings. It was very good. I looved her matt dillin. Omg hes such a hunk. And. Tatem oneil. She has been through helll. 😢 blessher heart
ok, ok, I took frustration out on you. I am very sorry and hope you will forgive my sarcasm, you didn't deserve it. (We are dumbing down though),,, and it's amber for me,unless you're talking Summer Shandy with lemon.. lol To make amends: there is a playlist of all the episodes with each one in 1 vid, in case you didn't know...
I wished the series had been given a better ending. Although a Kristy episode, she should have left for College ( which was hinted at in another episode ) and her driving away the final scene. The reunion movie was planned yet cancelled due to the writers strike in 1988.
antennatv.tv/contact-form/Go to the form and ask them to play Family on Antenna TV. Maybe with a lot of inquiries, they will put it on. Make sure you tell them the one with Kristy Mcnichol
The funny thing is for me, I fell in love with kristy when she was doin apples way, I thought I was a freak, I didn't know what was happening, years later there she was in family, I hated myself for feeling that way, it was terrible, now I'm a 59 year old lesbian who is in a 35 year old relationship with another woman in those days it was really hard I'm happy she is happy, I still love her my first crush , lol my friends were Leif Garrett bay city rollers and Shaun Cassidy lol always kristy for me

Decades channel recently aired a weekend of episodes, I taped 18 of them which I haven't watched yet. so don't know what seasons they are from.
Thanks you! This is my favorite tv series and they don’t rerun anymore

Tank Franz This show's fate was complicated by two and a half decades of legal battles.
I'm aware of that, but still be cool if they can get it together & bring it back for syndication.
And get sued yet again? I wouldn't. But I agree that it is a loss. At least it's on UA-cam.
I hear Ya, but still would like to see more episodes of seasons 4, 5 & 6
same here, it'd be nice
i love that you posted this if you have more please post
Annie's friend is played by the late Dana Plato . I use to watch this show religiously when I was between 10 and 13 . Thanks for the upload .
I miss shows like this, great childhood memories.

I agree
Classic cast: Kristy McNichol and Sada Thompson were such naturals!
This was an exceptional program. 100% quality.
I could not agree more.

James Broderick passed away I think 2 yrs after the show ended.

I think I miss the 70's.
yes it is Dana Plato
We won't be seeing Family. Period. The musician/composer won't release the music rights without a lot of money. Per Sony. Thanks JR!
Hi Roll But Seasons 1&2 are out on DVD with the same music, why not the rest?

Isnt that Dana Plato?
Funny how fast people seemed to fall for each other years ago.
So, how were the episodes from the first season captured so well? Anyone know how we can watch more?
you're welcome. don't think I have any more, other than the Leif Garrett one.
