Tree Tops serves to be one level that shows just what set Spyro the Dragon apart from many other platformers of the day, and probably still does with modern platformers. An end goal is in sight, but there is more than one way to get there and it rewards your curiosity for exploring every available path.
Spyro:Yeah. Well you could have found an easier spot to get stuck. Even though he was rude saying that I agree what he said was correct. The only way I could reach Jed was following the green thief.
this is the one godamn level i never completly finnished and therefore never was able to see gnastys loot so thanx for uploading it all to youtube so i now im able to see it about 8 years later.
Thank you! I think you're the only one who has posted how to get Jed properly, everyone else tries a method that is only down to luck. Finally through this ridiculous level!
Ah, the one level from Beast Makers that I actually adored. Probably because it's miles above that disgusting swamp water and has a pretty moonlight aesthetic.
I had to play the game and watch this video at the same time just to get it right! Synchronizing your video with my game play was very helpful and kinda frustrating when I kept messing up! 😅
WishesSailorMoon Tell me about it. It was very hard getting to Jed. Only way I could do it was by following the green thief on the supercharge and off the secret ramp to the island. I couldn't reach Jed otherwise.
It took me forever to work out the combinations for the supercharges. I was sure that the way to get to that last platform was to chain all four supercharge ramps. Down the first two like you do at 1:05, then take a hard right, land on the ramp over there, build up speed and make it over the posts at the top end of the fourth ramp at 6:24. It didn't work very well. I DID make it over the posts one time, but I was so surprised that I ended up running into the cave and hitting the wall. I always try to do things the hard way!
this is what i loved about old games like spyro and crash, they had secrets and mysteries with challenges you had to work at to complete games nowadays are to easyyyy
Have you ever played Alien: Isolation without dying? Asking because that is fucking difficult (even though I've done it on the dlc packs at least 10 times).
I truly admire the folks that can speed run this level. I cannot even begin to keep track of how many lives I've burned through (thanks 99 life cheat) just trying to get Jed. If I wasn't determined, I would just say fuck Jed.
It's been over 10 years since I played this game and I'm replaying it again on my PS1. @1:04 This part is annoying! I remember getting up to that one spot where the red creature is before [3 years before UA-cam], but, I'm struggling on this right now. Lol 😂
Hated this level! It took me years to figure out how to get to the dragon on the island, until I watched this video lol. But still love this game #spyro fan forever!
I know in the remake they made the enimries of this level apes, but are they meant to be that here? They kinda look like humans or maybe trolls of some sort
I still can't figure out how to make the jumps at the 1.12 and 1.16 marks. I use the supercharge, jump at the very end and I just fall from there. I've tried holding the charge or/and jump buttons all the way to no avail. Could anyone help break down the specific buttons to use and hold, thanks!!
took me over 5 years to figure out where Jed was, and then 2 weeks to get to him... Now I'm replaying to see how fast I can 120% it.. I hate this level so much..
That really hard part where Jed is took me weeks to figures out when I first got this game. Playstation had this free club you could join and they would send you promo stuff and demo games. In one of the packages there was a disc that showed you how to master that one part. And it still took me weeks to get it
Activision would be fucking rich if they were to resell this game exactly as it is, but compatible for a PS3. People LOVE this game, few games have even come close to the popularity and quality of Spyro the Dragon.
If you give the controller to a mid-to-late 90s and early 2000s babies. 20/20 I bet they can't/won't pass this level. | This level is/was a jagged edge puzzle level.
Am I the only one who got to that third dragon just by using that first boost at 1:06 to launch myself left to the whirlwind and then flying backwards once it raised me up?
ITS HERE!!! You use the psx emulator? I do and it works fine for me, only I get hercules sounds but thats because the disk is fucked (its 3 games on 1 disk) because it does that in my ps1 to
the creativity in this game, from the sound effects, the music, to the visuals and level design, blows me away
Trouble with the Tree Tops, eh?
Good 1
Pain in the ass level, played Spyro since I was a kid (I’m 29 years old now), but completed all levels since last sunday lol)
spyro my boy i have a magic chest erh i mean a key
lol
No, fun with Tree Tops. And I thought Mystic Marsh was good

This was hands down the most frustrating level as a child. Now I beat it in one sitting, could NOT believe how simple it was ahaha
+Prok Penut ikr
I agree even back when I was 16 it was pretty frustrating I kept dying via falling off the super charge ramps
@@artvampiredragoness3265 You shouldn't have been stuck on a game like this at *16*

I love how Jed is like "look out we got a bad ass over here" at the end of his rescue.
I love the shrug from Jed, it made me realize I couldn’t be so angry at this level anymore lmao m 🤷🏻♂️
Tree Tops was one of the most hardest levels I ever played in Spyro.
This level is really fun once you know how to get to that damn island.
I was playing this level last night. It took me over an hour to figure out how to get to that island with the dragon.
This level is so hard to figure out. We had to use a guide the first time.
I just followed the green theif. I was surprised i could do it.
JRC
It is easy to lose him, though.
I know, but thats why it took me an hour. And i didnt follow him the full way, just enough to figure out the way.
JRC
It is a surprisingly simple strategy. lol. You just have to know it. We sure didn't.
Spyro:Yeah. Well you could have found an easier spot to get stuck.
Even though he was rude saying that I agree what he said was correct. The only way I could reach Jed was following the green thief.
You can just super down the ramp then immediately jump right to the ramp that leads to Jed. You'll have enough speed to get there.
That's how I reached Jed by following the green thief
The hardest part was finding out that to reach Jed you had to go backwards on the supercharge at 1:14-16 to reach the ramp that leads to Jed.
That was the moment EVERYONE agreed with Spyro lol.
My favorite Spyro game. I loved all the secrets and things to find.
The noise those little banana boy things make when they attack is freakin' hilarious xD

Argonwolfproject can't deny that misty bog's music is a masterpiece
What, you didn't enjoy being slaughtered by frogs?
Spyro my first dragon game ever, and I loved the little dragon, always also played at dark days, rain and storms.
I had to play the game and watch this video at the same time just to get it right! Synchronizing your video with my game play was very helpful and kinda frustrating when I kept messing up! 😅
That super charge to the egg thief was my proudest gaming achievement for my 8 year old self
I love the music in Spyro
Spyro was still here a young dragon
Tree Tops WAS, IS and WILL FOREVER be the BEST Level in the history of Spyro games.
Great memories ... !
Took me forever when I was a kid to figure this out. I think I found out by accident. And then it was worse trying to 100% by finding all the gems
FU ING TREE TOPS (that is my new catch frase now)
This level used to be a pain in the ass as a kid when playing...had a nice setting to explore and theme though.
This is one of the levels I’m least looking forward to in the Reignited Trilogy cause you know it’s gonna be WAY harder
I used to rage on this level lol. I was like 4 or 5 years old but I ended up beating the game
This level took me 3 years to beat as a kid back when you couldn’t look up how to beat a level on UA-cam
This level is ridiculous!!

@Rougeberryblush
I use an official PS3 controller when emulating games, so it felt exactly like I was playing PS1.
Bagged Jed first attempt, how did they expect kids to work that out, many thanks
I used to enjoy watching the thieves run away and run down the superchargers jump around and run off. They were so funny doing that in this level
This level used to kick my ass everytime!
this is what i loved about old games like spyro and crash, they had secrets and mysteries with challenges you had to work at to complete games nowadays are to easyyyy

Brings back memories when I used to pl6 it my favourite character was the egg theif any colour
haha this level was so elaborate and fun, i do remember it pissing me off quite a few times though :P
favorite level by far, use to terrify me
It's not deserving of your love.

I don't see why you couldn't have just farmed lives instead of cheating.
The only difference between farming lives and hacking lives is a waste of time doing something that isn't engaging. @@sicklyr
@@oromain Well, I racked up a bunch of lives in just 10 to maybe 15 minutes. So I feel like the cheat was unnecessary.
@@oromain I happened to have ACED the game without any sort of cheats, whatsoever, it's a lot more rewarding that way too.

how do you control spyro so accurately? when I try its like hes pissed

Loved this level.
really, how the hell is a kid suppose to do this when all grown up i still have a hard time haha
What are the little guys throwing, bananas?
yup their monkeys.
Honestly the hardest (at the time) but most memorable level ever
Thanks for this vid man. Helped out a lot.
For the longest I was unable to figure out how to get to the green and red thieves.
The most difficult level in the whole series this is a nightmare.

+Fazlia Zakaria i have the same problem... i still do it very often and i always fall...
This was always my favorite level. Must be because I'm addicted to super-charging. Plus, I love challenges. :D
This level gave me so much trouble as a kid lol
The theme is fast tempo version of High Caves and there are same instruments heard as in High Caves such as a percussion and banjos.
😂I used to copy those noises the banana throwing enemies used to make as a kid- "RIFF" and "OH❤💅"
took me over 5 years to figure out where Jed was, and then 2 weeks to get to him...

This level is infuriatingly hard. Now I remember why I don't really like platform games that much
aww your spyro vids have the best quality out of all but whatever :(
I can't save, cause I don't have a PS1 memory card! So when I start over, I always get stuck here!
Everyone saying how they hated this level, lol it's my favourite Beast Makers world :p

There are unofficial programs on the Internet that can make the PC recognize the PS3 controller.
Am I the only one who got to that third dragon just by using that first boost at 1:06 to launch myself left to the whirlwind and then flying backwards once it raised me up?
Would not have figured out you can go faster by using multiple ramps or even that diverting to a far away ramp is intended.
thanks for all without the video i can´t continue the game
It's my first playthrough of spyro just a while ago. I gave up figuring out how to go to that damn island and searched youtube for help. haha
i love flaming those spinners in the direction of a monster and having it kill it from above :}
Tree tops made me so mad, but I loved it soooo much. :D
1:05 you’re welcome
my childhood returns spyro then rocks spyro now sucks
The supercharge part close to the end I think is the hardest!!! 😵
Tree tops.
planet: earth🌎.
realm: dragon realms🐉.
element: wood🪵.

dont blame vista man its the emulater
6:25 PHEW!
i still remember i often failed in the dash of this level
ITS HERE!!!
You use the psx emulator? I do and it works fine for me, only I get hercules sounds but thats because the disk is fucked (its 3 games on 1 disk) because it does that in my ps1 to
noww this is the level!!
That was really hard.
Thanks for the playthrough. Really helpful!
@JohnnyDFox Really? We can do that? I have PS3 Controller, I wanna try that. How exactly?
I hated this level so much as a kid
this level was so complicated I couldn't even finish it like ok you got this to do and this to do?
i love spyro, u make me wanna play it again :)
Its because its a PS1 game. So much better than the new ones in my opinion. Its a classic.
how did u get a ps1 emulator and able to work the ps3 controller on pc??
1:05 i can't to do this. FANTASTIC!!!
So, are you using keyboard or any controller? Coz I'm using keyboards, and it's hard. *Sigh*
ok thanks, and did u do spyro riptos rage walkthrough?
He did it in under 8 minutes. Omg. :O
... out of all the crazy things off of this game, you ask what the most human looking thing is?!
I promise you I love this level so much. Ahaha.
Nice fucking save there at the end lol
