Who is singer Raju Pariyar?
Raju Pariyar is a legacy of Nepali folk music, who has been honored by the Nepali audience with the lofty titles of Dohori Badshah and Lok Swar Samrat. The story of his suffering from a remote village in Lamjung district to today's Lok Swar Samrat is truly emotional, inspiring and interesting.
Born on Asad 15, 2037 BS, in Chisapani village of Lamjung district, Raju, the eldest son of father Mangal Singh Pariyar and mother Santamaya Pariyar, started singing songs in his childhood parrot dialect. By the time he was eight or nine years old, Raju had already memorized the songs sung by his parents and sisters.
