2004 to 2012 drove manual only. This past 5 months driving auto pushing button. Ill take modern newer truck vs older truck. Much easier to drive and more comfortable
There are very few drivers that are making a real living wage now. I remember more than 35 years ago I knew people that were getting $18 an hour, full time plus real benefits and home everyday in the unions. ABF drivers are at $31.5 an hour plus real benefits that I believe are about $70 a month in dues plus home everyday. That is a decent living wage job. 35 years ago OTR drivers were making more because they were being compensated for not being home everyday. I am old and lived through this so I have a point of reference. The Panther part of ABF expediter/contractors never receive a rate increase and bottomed out for new comers 25+ years ago. That is how far gone everything is. Now all the illegal trespassers will be the replacement drivers so it is going to get real fun real soon.

Company driver at .45 cpm. 30 days out and 5 days off. Making my first 2k for the week this week. Pay range from 1300 to 2k a week as driver but never home.

7:58 Bro, if loves or flying j had a gym with a steam room I would pay $100 or more per month for a membership. As a trucker your sitting all day driving, then you’re confined to your truck at the end of the day. And you can see that most of us are not getting skinnier. It’s a very unhealthy lifestyle, we need to change the game.
You are 100 percent correct very unhealthy. Can get a nationwide planet fitness membership for 24.99 a month. No sauna but the body regeneration thing is nice and hydromassage and you can workout and shower. Seems like I can find one I can access every 2nd or 3rd day. Only get 10 visits a month at your not home facility so every 3rd day is about max unless home. I never go out more than a week so not a problem for me.
Only healthy foods are subway tuna sandwich, and chicken salads. I had dumbbells and would work out when I knew I could grab a shower.
As far as grossing is concern, consider this:
11hours😊/day x 5 days per week x 52 weeks x 60mph x $2 pm = ?????. Start hassling and find out yourself. The meaning of the O/O, its ALL on your and good luck.
I am not sure where you run but 11 hours at 60mph? Not very realistic. 10 would be lucky. Of course might be at 70. Also bump off 14 on load and unload days and sometime maybe get a week or two off. Your numbers are for a very very motivated individual that doesn't care much about their health. Might make money but wake up old and tired one day.
$2 mile is garbage rate and also wishful thinking nowadays. Keep on trucking for cheap, super truckers ! Lol. Rather you, then me.

Drivers conditions are tough but there is decent money to be made out here....I am very happy with my cash flow and home time....I like rest areas on major highways better because these are kept clean...I try not to park at loves ,,TA,,,pilots ...these are nasty....and guess who makes the Pilot, Loves and TA nasty? The drivers....we throw trash out the window as we drive,,,we leave bags filled with trash everywhere we go....to include urine bottles....I say get a milk jug....fill it with urine and dump the urine in a urinal or dump it at home....anyways professional drivers....let's behave like professional drivers that we are everywhere we go or parking will get worst ,,,,anyways drivers let's stop blaming the establishment we used to park at back in the day and start with changes on our part to make transportation better...
I were talking to my brothers to do something like this but they are procrastinaters/lofters 😢 missed opportunity.

If you want to reach out to me and you’re in southern Nevada, we are making it also! Owner operators. We only own one truck but we are still making over $250,000 a year! My husband works for the company that we hauled gravel for and we have been allowed to bring our own truck in and haul the gravel for them. They let us park and work on our truck in their yard that saves us thousands a year. As long as he remained a truck driver for them. Then I decided a year and a half ago to go get my license and drive the truck myself rather than paying a driver to do it. For over five years we had a driver driving for us and that was costing us 60,000 a year. Now we’re saving that money by me driving. We’re supposed to get heavy rain Monday through Friday here in the Vegas area. Let those twins know.

two twin brothers normally twins , me learning about twins they stick together No matter who they are , The little mamacita she don't need no makeup on 😂 and she's right your mom and pops want to stay open , they got to asfault the ground n up grad bathrooms keep cooking good food and do not charge as much at night or day to park there and do not charge as much to take a shower charge but not double charge, I have said it before mom and pops are gone because big companies buy them out they cannot turn the money down
These aren't the worst rates ever. Last recession was worse. These rates are like the "good" rates we got after the recession was over (they clearly were not good). Can make money out there but not ideal. Can also turn the truck off and do something else.

I have been doing good. I lease but I get the miles I need to survive. I know the miles that I need weekly. My dispatch is good, and knows what miles I need weekly. I run recaps all month until home time. THAT'S how lessees make $$.

How you call yourself owner operator when you can’t even afford secured parking place for your equipment? Pay few hundred dollars and park legally don’t be cheap. Trucks attract criminals and shouldn't left unattended everywhere.

When i first started driving i loved parking at the bigger truck stops like loves, petro, t.a, and pilot. But after a whils i got tired of dealing with the hassle of trying to find parking late, since most truckers go there, and you also risk having a accident at a bigger truck stop than the ones peoppe very seldom go to. Or ill just take a well lit rest area. You have more amenities at the bigger truck stops but more hassle
