    Good design but, your soldering technique needs a bit of work. Try using shorter leads on the end of your cables and thinner solder. That and tend your leads before making final connections. This will cut down greatly on cold joints. Other than that, your saber is pretty rugged and badass!

    how many centimeters of polyethylene did you use? I'm making one of the second sister with two blades

      Can't really say, I would assume that a roll has 100cm width and you do a few turns around the blade with it so let's say 15cm of it will be used

    I really dont get how you do with the led strips, im looking to make a lightsaber and have 3d printed the handle, bought the pipes and now i am looking at led strips but i dont get what he does because what from what ive seen there are only led strips that need connection to the wall or am i weong about that???

    • @kyotic6366
      @kyotic6366  4 роки тому

      well, I don't really get what u mean by the "wall" and overall not sure whats the question but I can kinda describe what went into the led assembly. first of all, u have to decide if its rgb or just one color LEDs, get as much led bulb density as possible as this will create the more even light effect and stuff, pretty obv. in my case i did both rgb and single color, the single color is just LED strip -> mini Tamiya connector -> battery (this means that as soon as the battery is in, the lightsaber is on.) on the other hand the rgbs are connected to the receiver bc u need to control them via the remote so it would be LED strip -> Mini Tamiya connector + receiver. not sure if that answers ur question but if u have any more just write it here

    how is the led so much brighter in some shots but not that bright couple of seconds after?

    • @kyotic6366
      @kyotic6366  4 роки тому

      i think maybe the camera changed from drone to phone a few times. also most of drone shots were recorded during the evening as oppose to the daylight pictures taken by my phone. battery was draining during this 2-3 shooting day period and I didn't charge it even once maybe that's the case here. i didn't modify the footage to enhance the brightness of the lightsaber or anything like that, I wouldn't even know how ._.

    so I’ve been keeping an eye on this video for almost a year and I was wondering, would you ever consider making this and selling? I wanted to get two and I just think handmade is so much better in this way and I wanted to gift it to a friend! I would 100% cover costs and shipping and all that I just think you did amazing. Really hoping you’ll be able to see this. CHEERS!!

      I know it takes time but I’d honestly trust no one else to do this and am willing to pay reasonably XD even though it’s been years since u posted I’m just trying my luck

    • @kyotic6366
      @kyotic6366  4 роки тому

      Well, I didnt intend to sell them as I made them and the video just for fun of doing the lightsaber itself. I am not using them, I moved away from the place where I made them and they stayed. If you interest in them is not going to fade in 2-3 months we can talk about buying it. By Christmas I will be home and we can talk by then! feel free to message me through IG or here :D

    • @kyotic6366
      @kyotic6366  4 роки тому

      @@joaoantoni6191 i think technology changed slightly since i made the video, do a small research but the most important thing is that the led bulbs need to be as dense as possible, the more leds/meter the better, it will be smoother lighting. If you want to go hardcore u can try using the nanoLED that can be programmable with airduno and then u can create stuff like animating lighting and some other cool effects. it doesn't have to be the one I used, I used this one bc it was just quite okay for me in terms of amount of LEDs and brightness

      U can duel, thats why I used Polycarbonate tubes and not Plexiglass ones, but idk about heavy dueling, I'm not rly concerned about the blade itself more about the screw connection to the handle and stuff like that, but if you would glue the blade to the handle it shldnt give even in heavy duel

    the individual lights on my strip lights still show. i’m use if wax paper, does using tracing paper make the difference?

    • @kyotic6366
      @kyotic6366  4 роки тому +1

      Tracing paper was a 10/10 for me, I tried few different things but I couldn't get the effect I was going for a while. the tracing paper doesn't go yellow as time passes, doesn't melt when leds are placed close to it and it diffuses the light pretty well, if you have a paper store nearby I would say its really worth a try
