I have always loved the #bmw #x3m Competition but never been able to afford one. But with these cars depreciating quickly I just about had a chance to be able to if I can find one in really bad shape... and here it is!
This car has been badly crashed giving it intense structural damage on the chassis legs, sub frame and inner wings. The big question mark with this car hangs over the engine as it is almost empty of oil and we are praying it has not been ran like this!

Nice car, I reckon the damage to the seats is from rear passengers having no belts on and hitting them

I reckon that airbox is saveable. Look into plastic welding it, not too difficult man. Good luck with it all!

Chris I was not expecting this as the next project. I'm super excited to see what you have in store for the X3M as it's such an underated / undocumented vehicle for mods etc. I have a modded 2021 X3M so would be great to run them when your finished or happy to pick up if you want to see / experience in person.

Ballsy choice Chris considering the amount of structural damage.But i applaud your choice.Looks like it will be a good looking car once it’s done.Like you probably did under your breath,i gave it a little “yes” 👍🏻👊🏻 when it started and didn’t sound rough,knocking etc.Looks like the rear passengers hit the front seats and buckled them upon impact as others have said.Looking forward to the next update on the re-build.

Not long ago Chris you were working on an Audi tt fire damaged, now you are working on an x3m, I hope you are super proud of your self because I surely am. you inspire me to become better and one day repair cars like this.
Watched your F-Type videos after owning an F-Type R myself and was interested in the differences between R and SVR. Then saw you showing up on MA's videos which was fun to see. You've levelled up and deserve a sub all day, can't wait to see more on this, good luck!

When there was so little oil my head was saying well there’s no metal bits on the sump plug, but my heart was heavy saying yeah but the engine is fucked. I was pleasantly surprised and over the moon that it ran. Great video and can’t wait for the next one! 😊

I think they had passengers in the back that also didn't have seatbelts, they hit the back of the seats and twisted them....passenger side definitely looks like a knee went into the back of the seat 🤷♂️

Come On! Engine sounds sweet! The front end did its job, absorbed as much of the impact as it could and sent the rest around the car, and prevented the engine from being pushed back and the energy going through the occupants, but if the front passenger wasn’t wearing a seatbelt in that they would definitely have injuries.
That would scare the pants off me ! You're a brave man Chris. Bit jiggly on the old videoing !

Awesome next project Chris. Not sure what you were expecting from the oil with it missing an oil cooler already. Would make sense for it to be empty.

Looked like my a-class when i bought it. Have faith brother it all worked out for me and I've never done that car before.
Great project, and i'm sure you will make it into a lovely motor, just hope the Bradford curse doesn't come back to bite you. I've seen first hand how those type of cars are driven round there.
Hwsit Chris... I was stressed with you when I saw the little oil that came out but luckily the engine sounded ohk.... Just remember starting an engine n leaving it to run are 2 different tings... Get All the coolers n stuff u need throw some water in n leave that engine to idle just to be really sure ABT everything -wise... Good luck buddy much respect..

I had a van go into my old Peugeot while I was at a standstill, hit me at 40mph and I'm a bigger lad - the impact of the seat belt throwing me back into the seat was enough to bend them. So I'm guessing it's either hit something at speed or the driver was a bigger person like myself haha (Hoping they weren't too badly hurt)
