135x17 or DPx17 is the needle system, which is the most common fabric/textile needle for modern walking foot machines. 135x16 or DPx16 would be the leather point version of that. Both are available in multiple sizes, and the size you're using is a 160/23.

Hello Blue, Ah, the great debate! Plastic or no plastic. I usually will not use it. Especially on wood boat cushions where the plastic traps the water and destroys the wood. The manufacturers do not use the plastic for waterproofing, but to aid the cover install by helping it to slide over the foam. Just sayin'. Please keep liking and watching!

On the big separation, where you sewed stitches down the middle before cutting and separating the backrest from the seat bottom . (I couldn’t see clearly enough). Did you leave a very small strip in between the sewing seams for the separation cut? I assume you did. . .
    Thanks

Double Diamond looks refresing and more modern but will work with many street rods and customs. You won't see it at Pebble Beach but who cares? I knew you could do it. How about large scissors to cut thick foam? Seems like it would work and be less labor (not that moving is bad and it is actually good) . Yes, a cheap hacksaw blade will last a lifetime for foam and cost a lot less than large scissors. Scissors leave no noticeable remnants.
