I understand that public beaches are public but I sure don’t like it when I’m first in a spot and others crowd around me when there is plenty of room for them to go. I don’t walk out on the beach where people are swimming and set up next to them.
There are times where I have the lake to myself and people will come and show up on both sides of my truck. They get so close that from a distance(I’m on a kayak) it looks like someone is messing with my truck. Keep in mind the lake I fish has almost unlimited miles of shoreline so they can go anywhere else(like 50ft would even be great). Also sometimes as I’m packing my stuff to leave I’ll cast to rods out while I’m loading. Tell me why do they come and swim right where my lines are cast out at? 🤦🏻♂️
Great vid! Answering the wind question at 9:10 - wind blowing from land out to sea is called an offshore breeze. It's ideal for us surfers because it grooms and cleans the faces of groundswell waves as they break.
This is unfortunately the norm for California surf fishing. Doesn't matter if there's literally miles of open waters to either side of your fishing spot, people will plop right down into where you just casted. Or during the Dungeness crab season opener, they'd purposely walk under the hundreds of rods lining the beach and get "surprised" when they get tangled in line. Most probably do it from having zero situational awareness but I bet some of them do it on purpose as some kind of anti fishing "activism". Either way, surf fishing attracts a lot of these people that feel entitled to interrupt your fishing experience. It's dangerous for the swimmers specifically when they jump into the ocean where you're fishing a cut between sandbars, where rip currents are common.
Great Video! I discovered the beach ebike a few months back, I have a QuietCat with a big rack on the back. All my gear, poles, waders go in the rack and I'm able to cover up to ten miles of beach looking for the holes (Aptos CA). No fish in a hole, no problem, just roll on to the next one. Im a very experienced mountain biker so riding is not an issue in sand, but if you are not, be careful not to turn the front wheel at a big angle or you will wash it out and go down...not fun!
Been surf fishing uncrowded spots for over 60 years all over So Cal. One day last year a solo surfer actually 'didn't' paddle out where I was casting. He appeared to be consciences and respectful of my space. How refreshing!
@@aaronespitiaespitia4803 Early in the morning before people, find the sand crabs or hopefully baitfish and tell nobody where you scored. Also never, even if your excited, let me catch you settings your rod and reel down in the sand. ANY SAND.
Adam, Thank you for the video. It demonstrates what fishing really is a lot of hard work. You had some really beautiful scenery on those beaches! Beats working!!
I was walking nearby one of these spots day before Thanksgiving and ran into a kayaker who'd snagged a limit of hali. Swung by the tackle shop on the same walk, asked the clerk about surf perch, muted reaction, striper, muted reaction, and halibut, "oh yeah, there're still some around." I was bummed I hadn't brought my yak down to try Thanksgiving morning.
Watching you skunk in the beaches I usually skunk in gave me a sh!t ton of confidence. I just have to find a new beach thank you for being sooooo transparent ❤❤❤❤❤
Hey Adam. I rode alof of dirtbikes when I waS younger.and stood up the majority of the time.with a bend at your knees.do that in rough spots like the bumps your hitting and your legs act like the bikes suspension.and I always felt like I had better control.and the seat won't bump your butt into the air .your legs absorb that with less jarring.
Adam, always lay your bike down on the non-drive side. Less chance of damage to the rear deraileur ( gear changer ) Also, sand, salt and salt air are murder on bikes. Rinse - dry - relube- repeat . I prefer the drip lubes (TriFlow) over the spray type. Spray lube can easily contaminate your disc brake rotors. A little blue marine grease on bolts and moving parts will also prevent corrosion. Good luck and thank you for all the great videos!!
Damn I was going to say you got the same truck as me….hahah someday. Tacoma was always my dream Truck since the 2nd gen. Always my favorite UA-camr to watch. Thanks for the content, we have been super busy and last few outings were filming failures so we have been slacking on the channel.
Adam.. This may have been your best videos? Like most enduring long time surf hours for catching "a" fish. What bait caught the most? GULP sandworms? Bait stealing dinks on those soft worms. How do cast light lures and "NOT" wade up to your near hip (like most, lure casters) and still be top line surf fisher???
Meh,,,Tough bite but cool video. I have some of these lil plastics you used. I've never caught a surf perch in december before. I feel like many in southern california just put away their saltwater gear till spring but I know there is still good fish to catch this month. Cool video and great representaion of the sponsor 👍
I’m 70 yrs. old. You’re not even close to old age 😅😅😅 Been thinking about using an electric bike for surf fishing from Mandressa to Moss. Your video gives me thought about buying one. Good fishing and stay safe. Maybe I’ll see or Taku out there.
hey bro can i go for surfperch fishing at pacifica from april to july cuz on san francisco bay is closed until august that regulations is for the ocean too do you know
Did ya get the vanford 5000? Love that reel , super light, was at couple of those spots today , still slow my friend. Camo grubs are the go to my friend 🤫
My boy lives literally down the street. Before he was able to walk down a pathway outside from his house down to the beach. Sucks its all eroding. Only time will tell how long that access will last. Also those were the days when them night stripers out there was the best lol.
can you butterfly open the smelt and deep fry em so the bones are edible - those big ones look meaty. I ask because the fried sardines at Greek restaurants are tasty bones and all. Thanks for your vids, I like that you share info on your setup.
Limantour beach would be perfect for riding this all the way down to sculpted beach, pretty good rock fishing out there and somewhat protected shoreline so it’s perfect to launch the yak too
May not have been what you wanted, but any day that isn’t a skunk is a good day of fishing. The e-bike was a cool add, too bad it didn’t pan out the way you planned.
Where are you fishing where wind flows from land to sea, I have e fiberglass 40 foot pole to fly a 4foot diameter hellium balloon with electric reel , you could surf fish way out beyond surf with me. You might get keeper halibut or shark. Interested .....??.. Tm
I'm in San Francisco and I've been looking into surf casting more. I have most the equipment (6inch jerkbait, waders, plastic lures) but I currently have a 9ft heavy action rod, and a moderate understanding of the locations (like dropoffs and channels). What rod or locations do you think might be good?
@@greathighway4298that’s where I’ve gotten almost all of my equipment. I got an 11’ heavy rod from her but it’s too heavy for surf (lure weight 3-6) I’m going to buy a Penn Fierce IV off bass pro as I have a gift card, it’s 10’ and better for casting small weights
Adam,Congrats getting a new sponsor! Gee, what are you? Late twenties, perhaps early thirties? Getting old? 😆😆I’d love to be your age again! You probably did not have larger profile soft plastics that may have produced the larger perch. But, as usual you put a die hard effort into catching fish.
I see E bike manufacturers are going after the surf fishing crowd. I have seen two other surf fishing channel videos promoting bikes. Interesting, and this one looks the best so far. The main problem E bikes is that they scare the fish away……😂
I love your videos. I want to actually catch a hali this coming summer. Does anybody have a guide to trolling setups? Ive tried to replicate what ive seen on you tube but no luck! Thanks for any help👍

I hate it when this happens too! Usually happens to me with surfers…Came to realize that people just like being near where people are?

Can’t believe those A-Holes were swimming right where you were Fishing!
Ha! I lived in spain andcduring the summer we are only allowed to fish from 9pm to 8am due to the tourist in the water😢

Why did the videos stop?
I have a Hemingway cruiser and like it a lot.

Tip: when you set a rod on a vehicle use the side mirror or bed/body gap that way they don’t fall and possibly scrape the paint.
Or break the rod
Yes Sir happy you Posted!

That will definitely come in handy if you enter that surf perch contest this year

More lure and bait time with the bike for sure. Himiway gives the E bike rider more for the money than RAD after owning both. Always love your videos.
Adam, at 13:45 time stamp there are whales spouting on camera. Thanks for the great cinema in your videos!
lol more like seagulls diving to catch food..
I have surf fished using those "trash" fish, live smelt on a long pole with a sliding sinker with excellent results for jumbo halibut in the past.

Caught a 2.2lb perch at La Conchita beach just south of rincon the day after thanksgiving. Right off the storm drain in sand a large sand crab patch
FYI, Off shore breeze. A land breeze or offshore breeze is any wind that blows from a landmass toward or onto a large body of water.
