I took my wife on a date to Chart House in Dana Point and the most expensive plate on the menu was Halibut…. My wife laughed because that day I caught 2 and she finally realized the worth of me getting out there and bringing home some of the best food in the world 🍻… You’ve been an inspiration, congrats on your continued success
Aloha Chris. I follow your channel as well. And yes I’m subscribed. Don’t know if you follow Joey VT, southern fisherman. Bounces around fm Louisiana, Florida, the Carolina’s. Caught a 10 ft ahi, three miles off shore, reeled it himself! Three man crew. I know you’ve been doing some ahi fishing.
Good Job Adam. I still remember that the first ever halibut we got on my boat was a 45 inch 35lb monster. nothing ever came close to that for the past 4 years.
Awesome two fish Adam. Should have held on to those old ( Lucky ) long John’s. Lol. I’m going to guess some sort of fish storage bag to keep your monsters fresh. Keep the great videos coming
You can thank me for the next video , I work for Amazon in the big warehouses. I stow 2000 of those packages everyday for our customers. Have fun Adam and thanks for the videos.
These videos are awesome. You caught 2 halibut but there’s only one halibut on the stringer at 7:30 and at 16:00. Are these videos from different times. Say it isn’t so, Mahomes
I'd love to see the answer to this one as well. BUT, based on watching, I'm guessing no tipping, and I'm not even sure he uses scents, so how's this working for him? Let us know Adam.
Hell of a job Adam!!! That things a doormat. I wish I could get a rig and fish like you do?! Good dude & good vibes. Keep the vids coming. Down rigger in the box? Not sure but very interested
Amazing Hali! I've really been hoping to get one, stuck on piers for now, might try the rocks off halfmoon bay though. Any recommendations for locations?
I noticed your not marking your bites. I’ve found that halibut tend to hang out in groups. It pays to go back over an area multiple time that you got bit at.
Thanks for the vid Adam! Beauty feesh... I've been thinking about a wetsuit, 'cause I fish off shore solo from a small craft and you never know when you might go into the water. Question, how do you relieve yourself when you have to go on the kayak??? Tight lines...
Farmer John NRS is the way to go. Had 2 buy a 2nd one after the old one ripped just like yours. Still gotcha beat tho x 2. 43" 39.95lbs, and 45" 36lbs. ;-)
My guess as to what is in the amazon box... a sophisticated seagull trap so you get your donuts back from that F***ing Sh*t Hawk! Beautiful halibuts today!
Hi big fan of yours.. I was wondering where do you sale your catch too? Can you make a video explaining more about the commercial fishing license and who or where you can sale you catch please.. been watching your videos and inspired to do the same
You gotta get a client at a restaurant and have a commercial license. That’s all it takes . You gotta Know how to handle your catch and bleed and ice it properly . They might want fillets . You just cater to the restaurant . It’s extremely hard to make a living but you could make a few bucks when the timing is right for the fishing. But like I said , make a living ? Not feasible.
I sell all my fish locally. I've explained it more in past videos (I have a commercial fishing playlist if you want to check it out) but I will do it again next time!
Nice catch, Adam. I described my first halibut catch as retrieving a manhole cover off the bottom😂 It's a shame you went over budget on your reward yourself venture. Guess you're gonna have to go fishing😊
The box looks big, I say something inflatable like a float tube.😅 I like how after u caught a 41.5 inch halibut the 34 incher seemed like a mediocre size to u 😂, but at the same time I have yet to catch a legal size halibut 😅. I will be going for them next week, hoping to get the kayak out. If not then for sure early spring! Cannot wait to see what u got planned next! Keep them coming!
@@DieHardFishing thank u, last summer I caught a 17 & 14 inches and lost two that looked legal. So I'm confident I'll be getting a few legals for sure! Hope it's a 42incher 😜
What is the rule on local restaurants buying local fish ? I tried to sell them some fish I caught and they said the FDA does not permit them to serve any local fish within a certain distance from shore. What is that distance? I'm in San Diego by the way.

Aloha. Same with my honey. But her worth was just getting me out of the house. The fish was bonus. I get annoying.
@@adamyoung480 😂 me too 💯🍻🎣
That's awesome! We are lucky to have some of the best tasting food available right in our backyard!
We can all agree that Adam is the greatest Kayak UA-cam fishermen in California
I appreciate the kind words!
I'm gonna take a halibut, stuff it with a flounder, and stuff that with a sand dab n cook it. Call it Flabi-but! LMAO 🤣
Aloha. Pretty funny!
Sounds like an Outdoor Chef Life creation! haha
@@DieHardFishing Lol right!

Way to go on the PB on the kayak! Your sure showing us its possible to catch winter halibut!

I know what’s in there! It’s a new fish finder 😅
Been following for a while and glad you finally got a new wetsuit!!
it was time to retire the old one haha
Nice fish to keep the streak going.
Congrats on the two nice hali's! NRS is the best!
What a great day for you. Are you tipping any thing on your lure?
I'd love to see the answer to this one as well. BUT, based on watching, I'm guessing no tipping, and I'm not even sure he uses scents, so how's this working for him? Let us know Adam.
I don't think it would hurt but I don't tip my lures with anything typically
Squid in some form or fashion couldn’t hurt right
Nice Double Adam👏Congratulations on your new wet suit. Let’s see what hidden treasure you bought on the next video.
Keep on catching those hotel doormats 👍👍
Meanwhile, down here in Southern Cali we be just as excited when the halibut is 22 inches 😅...Nice catch!!!

Where are you fishing at eight california
I noticed your not marking your bites. I’ve found that halibut tend to hang out in groups. It pays to go back over an area multiple time that you got bit at.
Perhaps a channel with you showing us what to do vs. what Adam is doing? Rhetoric, sorry.
I go back and mark all my spots after the fish is in the cooler
What a monster! Great job Adam your beast
Hope to see you out on Chris's new boat this year!
@@DieHardFishing hopefully soon maybe we can both be on there it’s big enough for all of us lol

Everyone has their own technique. The best is to have a small bucket to pee into, otherwise its a balancing act.

yes, I currently just sell whole fish.

so true!
Damn nice fish Adam. I’ve yet to catch one. Just learning.
Stick with it! It took me many years to catch my first as well!
Where do you fish? Bay Area based too? Any particular aspect of targeting halibut you wish you knew more about?
Nice
Sweet fish!
What beach and what city
Great catch! What brand and model is that grey rod you’re using?
I will be talking rods and reels in a video coming soon!
