Summary:
This is a terrific document of the group shortly after the 2nd album release. They play the 2nd album in it's entirety as well as most of the first album. It's b&w, but well lit, good audio and every second of it is here. The original lineup (they look so young!) bursting with creativity on their first tour as headliners.
These were the days. I saw them in Philly on Friday 6/1/18 and people were actually yelling for us to sit down because we were dancing. Please its "The Worlds greatest party band" stay at home and be old.
Outstanding highly talented and inspired genius band.
ALL HAIL THE B52s 💜🤘🏾
I really think this is one of their best songs.
Just a classic...The energy and quick tempo...The girls can dance
i loved being a teenager in the 80's but i feel i was born 20 years too late....still, i can enjoy it now so all is not lost.
Beautiful name. skate fight skate!
I wore out this cassette in the 80s. This album still holds up and takes me right back to 1982.
Gives you an idea just how few were the overdubs on that first album. This is a flawless rendition, live…
Ricky a maniac on the guitar
Cindy has the best moves.
yes
His brother too
Can't get enough of these guys ♥️
Best version ever
yeah I know what you mean, I was 21 and remember when I went to the Ritz in NYC with friends and at the club's dance floor as the b52s were playing everyone was jumping up and down,, brings back memory's these songs , and I still enjoy listening to them today
Capitol theater was a great place to see live music.
They're really tight in this performance!
love this song
Ricky Wilson providing
yeah.. another great talent gone way too soon that (i like to think) would changed the future of the band.. pity! cheers
Awesome, loved (still love & play) the first two B52's albums (CD's).
nice version! good energy/tempo
Damn, Ricky. What a loss :-(
Yes, indeed.
isso é muito punk.
This was the tour I saw in London...loved it! Especially when Fred took iut a phone!
Ricky's playing an Epiphone ET-290 in Red. It's a 70s version of the Crestwood & Wilshire models. He used the DADxGA tuning, probably - string gauges are also .056, .044, .034, empty, .018p, and .014p.
The guitar parts in this are pretty simple, but Ricky's voicings of the B5, C#5, and Asus2 power chords and chord (and also the harmonics at the 12th and 7th frets) are not the most common.
And when I say DADxGA, x means no string in that slot. It's also sometimes said he didn't use a low D string on this, but the guitar also had to be re-tuned for Planet Claire, so it probably did have the low string - he just didn't need it for this particular song.
Nailed it here so hard❤
Cindy’s bongoes
DJ Fred and Arnold T's Wall Street track bought me here. The B52s were there first of course.
"I DIALED THIS STUPID NUMBER, ALL DAY LONG"!!!!!!!!!
I think I heard Kate said at the beginning of this clip, "Get up offa that thing."...
0:00 she did.
The Sweetest Peach 🍑
