Tank you!! I have to do the same rebuilt job on the steering gear of my 1994 Chevrolet pick up truck. I've check several videos and I have to say that your is the one that help me the most. Very very good explanations and very good video quality.
Be sure to have the box turned all the way to one side when you hook the pitman arm up to the drag link. That always makes for an exciting first drive.
Hello sir, graet job on the rebuilt. I had watched your video and also rebuilt my 2000 GMC steering box which happen to be just like this one. The box seems to be ok except I now have a automatic steering I don't know how to fix I had a broken clock spring and I was trying to knock off the steering wheel before I actually got a puller, now the steering turns automatically to the right whenever I start the truck and just stay there with a clicking sound. It there an adjustment on the steering column or somewhere to adjust the steering back to normal, I did I mess up with the box rebuilt? I really need some help, I can't figure it out.
So I must ask, why did you rebuild this gear box? Did you have any leaking seals. If you rebuilt it due to excessive play which could not be adjusted then you would have had to replace the rack and pinion components. This would also give you a new channel for the balls to run on against the spool valve reducing any play.
Excellent instruction

Is it the same kit for mine 2500hd 2015 ???
A small piston ring installation tool works great to get the spool valve and bore piston back in place.
Good idea!
Seams 1 Ball from the bearing went to the wrong direction, see 16:52
Hello sir, could you please provide the Gates part number for the rebuild kit?

Because I'm rebuilding every part going onto the truck. The seals on this one were shot.
