All us Kids that grew up in the mid 1960s came home from school and watched Dark Shadows every week day ........it was a very followed Series . Really was a big hit with all of us kids
I started off with the Revival in 1991! I found my way to the original series. I love them both equally. I'm so glad we have the legacy that Dan Curtis left us.
Just old enough to have caught the last couple of years of Dark Shadows but I loved it and was and still am fascinated with the total production, ambiance, and feelings the show invoked. It makes me wish I was rich and could move to a northly location in a Hugh mansion and fill it with furnishings of the show-minus the paranormal!
Some say that Collingwood Manor was the inspiration for Foxworth Hall in Flowers In The Attic. Victoria arrives on a Train while the Children and their mother arrive on a train as well. Keith Prentice who played Larry in the original version of The Boys In The Band was also on this show. Sadly he and four of his Co Stars died of AIDS Related Illnesses.
But they dropped the "Victoria's parentage" storyline when it was obvious the whole time she was Liz 's daughter....they even cast Alexandra because she had a passing resemblance to Joan. They never resolved it before Alexandra left the series.
@@CynthiaRoberson Yes. Thank You! I knew about this. The storyline certainly had been discussed with Joan. If the show had lasted a few more years they might've brought Vicky back to confirm. Joan was actually VERY cool to Dark Shadows fans. She never had an ego about being a movie star.
The first season black and white episodes had a wonderfully moody and mysterious quality to them.
I can't think of a better, well-written intro to a show than this one. They set up story and mood in three minutes. Amazing.
Couldn't agree more!

I used to run home from school everyday in order to watch it I usually miss about the first few minutes but I was able to watch the majority of it
@@CynthiaRobersonI started of with Passions in 200- something 😂 but Dark Shawdows has me. Reminds me of my grandparents house
Wonderful amazing remembering 🎉

Since I got The Coffin Set of Dark Shadows I watch them every chance i can
Awesome! Dark Shadows is my favorite show of all time. I'm glad you get to watch it whenever you can.
i love roger and elizabeth so much. sad they got downplayed in the later episodes.
You are my kind of people.
No doubt, both were my favorite 2 characters and were great actors to boot.
I hadn't heard of Louis Edmonds nor Joan Bennett before (I first saw them in 2002). I have such admiration for them.

I was thinking of this. It wouldn’t surprise me that VC Andrews took not just the manor but the entire ambience and soap from this show.

Here's a clip from Joan Bennett confirming that Vicky was Elizabeth's daughter! ua-cam.com/video/Hzdndt8OwIU/v-deo.html

2:30. How much was that in ‘71? 😏
I don't know, but it probably wasn't enough!
Joan Bennett was beautiful in Disraeli
