I actually picked up the Split Pad Pro a few months ago. For the most part, I was pleased with how it functioned, but there are some significant trade-offs as well. Here's a complete list of the (potential) pros and cons (I say "potential", depending on whether or not any of these factors actually matter to you)... Pros - Undoubtedly more comfortable. I found that I could play games almost indefinitely without any cramping whatsoever. - Buying the Split Pad Pro, in its entirety, costs less than a single Joy-Con. - Possesses a proper D-Pad (personally, I've never found the left Joy-Con button setup to be a detriment to my gameplay, but obviously, I'm not most other people). - Possesses the extra back buttons and the Turbo Function (neither of these I felt a particular need to use, but again, different strokes for different folks) Cons (all of these stem from the fact that the Split Pad Pro is intended only as a straight-up, bare bones controller, without any bells and whistles, so here's what's missing) - No rumble feature (I have one friend who wouldn't miss this at all, but sometimes, the Rumble feature can be essential, depending on what games you play) - No motion controls. Granted, there are only a handful of Switch games that actually utilize this function properly. But if you like your motion controls in games like Splatoon 2, Resident Evil: Revelations, or even Overwatch, you may find this setup lacking. Of course, you can always combat this problem by simply replacing the right side of the Split Pad Pro with a standard Joy-Con, but it does kind of defeat the purpose of a more comfortable handheld experience. - No internal batteries. This means that not only does the Switch Pad Pro not function when it isn't hooked up to a Switch, but It requires power from the system to work, draining the Switch's already questionable battery life that much more. - Portability becomes an issue. While the Split Pad Pro is indeed more comfortable to hold, when it's hooked up, the Switch becomes so much bulkier as to almost defeat the claim of calling it a handheld system*. Also, expect to have a hard time, finding a Switch case that can accommodate it, even when disassembled. So far, I've only found one case that I was able to jury-rig into fitting the controllers, in ANY way comfortably. (*Also, When the Split Pad Pro is hooked up, the Switch becomes so bulky and off-balance that the kick stand has absolutely no hope of holding it up.) Bottom line, whether or not the Split Pad Pro is worth your money will depend entirely on how much you'll appreciate what it adds and how much you'll miss what it takes away. That's a question each individual person can only answer themselves. I'm just providing everyone with the facts. Hope this was helpful. ^_^

Dude i been telling you to buy these for years. This is just A new model. The original wher the " Deamon X Machina" Split pad pro.
I preordered them when they where announced back a few years ago.
And i don't play my switch without it
Cooooool
For me analog stick above the d-pad is unnatural and should never existed
paying for a game you can emulate LMAOOOO STEAM DECK GANG RISE UP!
Emulation isn't for illegal piracy.... Kind of a self-report...
@@davidslevs For old games like Legend of Zelda: Skyward sword. Do you think those devs will get any money from this mediocre "remaster".
They didn't even gave the option to play games you already own in the new system.
@@marioaugusto1543 Old games still have markets and therefore still make money from those games. A la remasters
Don't buy this. Had one "which was actually fantastic" until it broke within a year. I take care of my things, and it still broke and no longer connects to the Switch.
