As I walk through this land, I remember the boys who took a stand, Who stood there strong when things got tough, They would shout and scream at the things that were rough, No weapon formed against them would live, A punch to the face, a kick to the rib Their cause was justice and they strove to be pure, All of hell shook when their knees hit the floor, Never look back never give up, There's someone behind who will pick you up, I got a sword in my hand and I'm ready for the attack. Raise up the flag let them see, Our creed is a symbol for those who are free, We fight against evil, we fight against sin, Our battles not outward, our battles within
I can see where it can be mistaken as a bar brawl anthem, but I examined the lyrics and it’s really an anthem for spiritual warfare. The lyrics are hard to understand and “a punch to the face, a kick to the rib” can be mistaken for drunken brawling, but the lyric that preceded it “no weapon formed against them would live” (the punch and the kick were the weapons formed against them that didn’t live). The bagpipes are emotion evoking instruments, funerals, parties, and battles which gives this tune another dimension. I love Irish music and I found flatfoot 56 because one of their songs was in a documentary, and a little homework got me thrilled that they are a Christian punk rock band.
What a blast from the past. This band was really popular among a lot of people I knew back in high school and a lot of the punks and skins. They were pretty fun shows. I wonder if everyone in the video is doing the same thing over a decade later, I sure am! Thanks for the memories Flatfoot
saw them at warped tour last year, and got to hang with them a few years back. Tobin and his brothers are great guys and I was sad to here josh left the band, real humble guys, can't wait for them to come back to FL always have a great time with these guys.
The bassist strings broke one time at a lowkey basement concert in '06 and he gave them to me, the only twelve-year-old there lol these guys may have fueled my angsty punk stage, but I still love 'em even now!
Saw these guys play with mustard plug in danbury ct years ago at the heirloom arts theater which unfortunately has since closed down. Been a huge fan ever since! Great band great show!!
I spy baby me when I was 15 - big mohawk and a loooow cut shirt-🤣 Such a good time at this music video shoot. Flatfoot 56 will always have a special place in my heart, going all the way back to the Mojoe’s coffee house where they would always play shows (2002?-2006)
they are such an amazing band, and amazing people :] I got to have dinner with them a few months ago and they are so great. I can't wait to see them again soon!
@N00bInItUp One up.. My band just played with them over the summer right before they played the warped tour. Then we hung out with them at Village Inn.
listened to the song smoke blower by these guys for a year or two now cause it was on a vans warped tour cd i bout... HAD NO IDEA THEY WERE CHRISTIAN!!!!! so happy to find a punk band thats amazing, uplifting and awesome!
The lead singer is a substitute at the school I graduated from... first thing he says when he starts class is his height that people constantly ask. Haha..
as a christian it was sad to say but i stopped listen to Christian music cause it all started to sound the same ,but wow i found these guys by accident!!
Nick Fedorov wow!!! what would make you ask such a question?? was it because i stopped listening to Christian music??,by no means no, i did only in the sense of what the world deams "A CHRISTIAN" i got burned by two churches being a minister(usher/greeter/lawn work you name it i was your man) i do not attend church anymore but maintain a personal relationship with Jesus that i find most satisfying, i let my actions and not just my words dictate who and what i am, church just spells pain for me now, forgive me for being cautious past experiences have taught me to do so but are you a Christian? i would take it you are if you asked, im not looking for a debate or to be "Won" i already am im hope you dont think me rude im sorry if it comes out that way i have to admit though i really like Flatfoot!!
+Nick Fedorov brother, remember chu are renewed in Christ bc Jesus babe has done such... so forget past experiences/ le pain. Oki? and for me I dislike le churches i've attended but I know there are wayy much bweautiful ones with perf/better ppls that understand me, and I'm goingsa to go unto them. Simply because isolation from ur earthly family in Christ is boringgg and i'm sure you have much to share to them or anyone else :}
Ajijoe S I'm in The Body Of Christ and boy do I agree with you on all Xtian songs sounding the same (Yuk!). My life is dedicated to Christ. So I recommend doing a search on Christian Punk, Christian Rap, Or Christian Celtic music. Changed my life, so much good worship music out there like Flatfoot 56
hey guys. I went to Spirit West Coast and one night when I was walking around bored I saw that this band was doing autographs in a tent. it's on back of some paper that i picked up on the way in there. if anyone wants it just let me know. i really am not fans of these guys so I have no use for it. I did get a group 1 crew autograph on a cd of theirs though. it was awesome
