This turned out AWESOME. SUGGESTION: For the weight of the overall piece, consider not building the spackle up to much -- try using long threads of yarn, jute rope, rolled newspaper or tissue papers, or even tin foil. This will give you the volume you want on the raised parts but also act as an armature to help save on weighing down your canvas. If you love this as much as I do and keep it for years... the canvas will sag a bit after a few years from the weight of so much spackle. Using yarns, cords, rope, tin foil etc.. and then coating the top of that with spackle once you secure it to the canvas will save a LOT of spackle, but more importantly it will help preserve the piece for generations. -- Another excellent tip is to prepare your canvas before you begin with a layer of gesso and/or a primer. These will act to help tighten the canvas and make the canvas a lot stronger to support additional weight (like spackle) so that any additional weight from the spackle will not sag as much. --- LOVE all of your videos.
@@sarajusticecosmetictattoo6010 Yes. Usually anything that I put under the finished item I work on I glue (or bond) first. In this case E6000, Gorilla Hot Glue, or a strong glue bond adhesive would be best as the seasons change and glued items can be vastly affected when it goes back and forth from cold to hot temps. E6000 and/or Gorilla Glue will not release in varying temps. Good luck on your project(s) This one is one of my favs.
@@foxiez97 Yes... spackle is just as cost effective as putty and the results will look the same but if you do decide to use putty you will not get the same results in the end. Let me explain - Putty will break down much faster. If you plan to keep your project for years (or even generations) putty will become brittle, dry, and crumble apart. If you do decide to use any type of putty just apply a seal coating to completely cover/coat the entire surface area of the putty... like mod podge or decoupage and it should be fine. HUGS and happy crafting.
@@treshaja you can actually buy canvas rolls and make it! I discovered this more recently. Amazon sells the huge rolls and you can just use some wood nail them together and staple the canvas to the back.
Treshaja..... Yessss Huney Yesss 😆... Simply beautiful! Thank you soooo much ... I subscribe to the young lady’s YT channel who created that piece and she did use a canvas but doesn’t actually show you how she created the thicker texture lines. Also I would like to thank the person who tagged you to recreate this piece. You are amazing Treshaja 🤩... I can’t wait to see and learn more from you 🙏🏽
Ok Treshaja, you done another winner!!! I really like that and will make one...not sure what the colors will be yet. I like abstract art pieces because your imagination can just flow..... Thanks for sharing
Treshaja you nailed that dead on! I looked for her channel & went & watched it after watching yours! Man I guess since you’re into painting ect you knew what to use to gain the look! I would have been clueless... Lol I saw someone’s comment about doing it in black with gold leafing for her mom! Awesome I just bought 4 black canvases today to add a gold leafing design to it! Cool
Teaira showed the process in her vlog but didn’t go into detail. Thanks for this tutorial. I had 12 ft ceilings and would love to do an abstract piece for my large entryway.
Love it! I think for my mom's living room is I'd do it in black and the lines with gold leaf or something .... thoughts? (She has a safari styled living room)
I love this and will be trying this weekend! I have a few questions though. 1.Did you use a matte paint or glossy? 2.Has anyone tried the idea of layering with foil etc? 3. Thoughts on painting the edge or adding texture to that too? Ty for sharing!
I'm commenting before watching your entire video, so hope I'm not off base here, lol. But, I've seen some really interesting videos of people using tissue paper to make texture on paintings. I haven't tried it myself, but it was inspirational.
Hey Treshaja, Tiera actually did a blog around making this canvas on you tube she walked through every step from purchasing the canvas the tools, the pink spackle and showed how she built up the canvas.

Great suggestions! Very informative!

Hey, is it okay if it use putty instead of spackle?

You did that!!!!!! And yes, I think it’s dry wall. Now, I’ll probably use dry wall as my canvases. Thank you for thinking outside the box lady!!!!
I love it too!! She did use a canvas. She actually has a video of herself making it.
Thanks for sharing that. Someone just sent the link to me. I can’t believe she found a canvas that big. I wish I had a store like that near me.

Ooh this looks amazing! Teaira used Liquitex modeling paste in lieu of spackling! But baby we make do with what we got and you did THAT!
This is beautiful. I want to do this but add a color to it.
This looks beautiful, especially against the dark wall & a perfect size. When I saw the inspiration I thought it was dry wall too because of the size.
Thank you!! I found out she actually purchased a canvas.
