FYI to anyone trying this piece; Plaster and Spackling are two different consistencies. Also the link she supplied is for particularly Spackling. She is using plaster due to the tint it already has. Spackling is much thicker and tends to come only in ‘white’. I hope this helps.

Tip: Don't use such a big bucket of plaster because some types dry really fast. I'm surprised she was able to do even a half canvas with that big bucket.

No I didn’t have to add water to it! And I’ve had them for a while now and there has been no cracks at all. I did paint the canvas with white flat paint maybe that helps!
You've done the faux frame soo well, which spray paint did you use? Also, did you prime the canvas before spray painting - it's so smooth and reflects like real gold
Sorry for the late reply!! I got a dust control sheet rock from home depot.... I had a huge container of it so I used what leftovers I had.. I'm sure you can get it in a smaller size!!

Very good ideas, but think I'd want to seal this to avoid dust-pollen discoloration. Sealing would make it easier to clean/dust as well.

I’m not 100% sure! It’s not the same one I used. The one I used is from Home Depot and it was called Sheetrock dust control!

Just so you know, plaster over time will crack ! Especially dry wall plaster, so be careful for whom ever does this ! 😁😊

Nice job! I did something similar, using spackle. a tool with teeth and black and white paint. My question, how can you color spackle?

Plaster and spackling is it the same?
They are very similar plaster is just used for plaster walls and spackle is used to drywall. But for this purpose both will work great!
