Ok Mrs. Gayle it's 2024 let's make another one of these. I find repurposing old books so fascinating. I love learning from you and your talent. Thank you so so much for sharing and teaching me and others. 💜
Oh my favorite time of day - coffee and Gayle!
This is so fun. I'm currently watching start to finish an altered book journal 49dragonflies did in 2019 so it will be awesome to watch your progress with this one too. OH and so glad to see you using kraftex on the inside spine because I'd forgotten your tip of using it! The turban on the lady on your cover just cracks me up. She's beautiful. :)
You make it look so effortless and easy. I am still in the "collection phase" of my journal making. I know I should just bite the bullet and start one cause the "collection phase" never ends I'm sure *laughs*.
I'm sitting with my cup of tea watching your video again. cozy.
Yay! Hi Gayle! So fun to watch you start to finish a journal!! Looking forward to seeing you add all of your wonderful ephemeral ephemera!
I always talk amongst myself so no problem there. LOL I know this will turn into a beautiful journal, Gayle. Can't wait to see the finished product!
We'll, Gayle! After two years of trying, I finally snatched up one of your journals! I bought the Mother and Daughter book!
Congratulations!! I have been trying, and will continue to try to purchase on of her journals! I am happy for you though!😃😃😃
Thank you! Her journals are really popular! 😊
Yes they are Beverly!!
Congrats
It is hard to get one of her journals!!!!
Normal people: here, could ya put that in the trash for me?
Junk journalers: oh my gosh, you're not going to throw that out are ya??!
You betcha!!
Absolutely!
I like that you are showing us how to make our signatures without having to use digitals I’m loving this. Looking though all my old papers
I have to admit my favorite Gayle videos are the start to finish videos - sometimes when I can't sleep I go to your playlist and re-watch the old videos - especially love the Christmas one you created for the woman's son, so she could put old Christmas photos in it - Hugs.
Hugs back, Cindy! ❤️
I loved that series too. Watched it more than once.
Hi Gayle Thank you so much for redoing this project. I love the cover. You have decorated the inside beautifully. I think the spine is so pretty as it is. I can’t wait to see the next episode. 😊
Hi Gail thanks for taking us on this journey with you while you create another beautiful journal
Hi Gayle . I’m catching up on your videos. Much needed I must say. My dad passed on Thursday after being on Hospice due to cancer. He was 83 and I had the honor of caring for him in my home the last 49 days of his life. It’s definitely not the same without him so I’m in need of Gayle therapy 💜. Hugs
I’m so sorry for your loss, my friend. What precious time you had together. My prayers are with you, dear one. 🙏❤️
This is very interesting for me...can't wait to see more 💕
The cover is gorgeous. Love your choice of paper and lace. This will be a fun start to finish. I'm glad you chose to do this.
I love yummy old books. This one is beautiful. They do make for odd size pages but it’s worth it. Enjoying my coffee time with Gayle. You are on at 10 am in Georgia so it’s perfect coffee time. Your voice is soothing to my “morning brain”.
Love the “ no digital” plan!! Looking forward to watching this one come together.
I love to watch anything you are making. It's so creative and you make it seem so effortless. You really are an amazing Artist. 😘🐞🥰
Hi Gayle 👋
I finally get a minute to watch you do what ya do 😅🤩😍
Its been a lil while... unpacking my craft supplies is quite a job 😇
Love watching...tfs
Be well and safe 😍
A fun new project Gayle!!! I really love how you’re bringing this journal together and breathing new life into this beautiful old book!!! I look forward to following along!!! TFS!!! Big hugs, Sharon 🌷💜
Yes! I love these journals made from vintage books! This cover looks really old and awesome, it's going to be a great series! ❤️
So exciting when we start a new journal!
I love 49 & Market paper ! It’s heavy and works so well! I’m excited about this project !
I loved watching your process and can't wait for Part 2 ~ Thank you so much
I'm very happy you're going through this step by step. I really needed this. Thanks a bunch.
Very cool! I love all the different types of papers. TFS!
Watching you sort pages into signatures tells me just how far I still have to go on my own journey. You make it look so easy and it just isn’t! Especially for mathematically challenged crafters. I can’t wait to see how this turns out. I love your style, your sense of fun and your calming voice. So needed after another day in lockdown here in the U.K.! Thank you for all the things 😊🌷💕
So glad you are doing this. Thanks for mentioning my name today. It's been a horrible day here in my area of Texas - no power, tons of snow we aren't use to, my well pump froze, lots of people have no power but God is still good. I certainly have a new appreciation for you people in the North that deal with this stuff all the time. Holy moly I'll stick to our tornadoes!!! Love you & your fun channel. You make a grey day bright again!!
As an avid fan and loyal watcher/lurker, I've seen you do this part before, but it's always fun to see your process and here your thoughts. It reinforces the steps for me when I'm trying to figure something out having seen it again with you! I was slow stitching a journal cover and this video was perfect company for me. Thanks. Hope you're staying warm. We're expecting another 7 inches + of snow tonite, here in PA. Almost every 3-4 days now. Winters like I had when growing up!! Just wish I could get back out there on a sled ... in my dreams lol!
Love the George Barr books. They are usually illustrated by Harrison Fisher, one of my favorites. How fun this will be!
Love this junk journal! So much fun!
Thank you for this wonderful video! I have a gutted book, now I can proceed. Thanks for sharing. Stay warm♥️☃️❄
Thank you for sharing the process with us. I needed to see it so I can get started.
I am glad, that you let the original spine! The book looks amazing just how it is and without this spine it would go something important. I love your taste and how you interact with the things!! Have a nice weekend, Gayle! Kind regards from Vienna/Austria
Loved this! Can’t wait for the next video.🇨🇦
That collection of paper!!
Gayle, I would like to thank you for doing a journal without digitals. I look forward to seeing how this goes. I will continue to dream about one day being the proud owner of your journals.
Hugs 🤗
Your friend Cindy from a small town in Northern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
❤️❤️❤️
Lovely to see you do a start to finish again. It is funny how you seem to think alike. Several times I said to myself I would put that page there or such and so and you then did exactly that. I look forward to the next video
So beautiful and you put them together so nicely!❤️💯✨
So glad you were inspired to do that.
I'm so happy you are creating a vintage journal, Gayle! Love watching your process.
Those papers came from Emily for that kit. I bought two of the kits and I have papers like them for my kits too. Can’t wait to see how yours comes out, I had forgotten about mine until I saw yours. It will be awhile before I can get to mine unless I get really inspired… lol! Lots of fun coming our way! Enjoy! Big hugs! 🌸🤗🌸
Your journal is coming along beautifully!
Wonderful tutorial Gayle. I’ve been wanting to do this same thing to a book I’ve been holding on to. I’m excited, and confident (now that I’ve watched this video) to take on the project. Thank you! I look forward to seeing what else you do with this journal.
This is going to be a great new series, I’m loving it already. Dark nail polish will stain our nails, but if you use a good quality base coat, it will help. 😘😘😘
If it's any comfort, the colour of your nails wasn't the least bit noticeable, so you ought not to worry about it. Looking forward to seeing this journal come together!
This journal project will be a fun one, I can tell! The old book and papers are just beautiful!
Great day to watch! It's -3 in Oklahoma and we're buried in snow! I hope you're having a lovely day!
Oh Gayle!!! I’m so excited to watch this process for a Vintage journal. My best friend loves the frilly, lacy, doilies type of things. I want to make her one. I’m super new with Journal making though. So I’m gonna be watching!!🎀🧸📕💝
So happy your doing this; nice antique papers and I can’t wait to see how you decorate it. 👍☃️
Love it. It is going to be great seeing how you decorate this different mix of pages. I just figured out if you have a hard back it is easier to do, only took me about 4 years. Of course I love the books pages I received from you, it’s like they are tailor made for me. Yay! I am looking out my window and seeing a snow covered ground. ☃️❤️
What a start....can’t wait for the finish....😻😻
Love this journal already!! Thanks Gayle for sharing your work and your process...very inspiring!
Thank you Gayle. I think I have it down pat now. ❤️🙏🏽🤗
Good morning Gayle....have a great day!
I love that cover.
Beautiful cover and super grungy on the inside, love it. Thanks for the video I enjoyed watching your process and I to have a bag of scraps that I save to stamp words on. Take care!
That is gorgeous paper...I checked OnlyOneLife and they were sold out but found it on CraftStash. I don’t have a beautiful book like you but I’ll improvise. I just love he grungy/old look. It’s always so inspirational when you take us through a project start to finish. 🥰❤️
So nice to see a new start to finish journal video! I like this vintage one🥰
Oh what a yummy old book. I love how you repurposed it, so beautiful
Will enjoy watching the progress on this book. Love the cover

Missed you too, Betty! Welcome back! And hope you are 100% very soon! Love and hugs! ❤️
Oh I LOVE this book cover and all the vintage/grungy look!! Looking forward to the progress until finished. Have an awesome day!! 💜
Gayle, love the paper you've chosen and the lace on the spine is awesome. Looking forward to this start to finish journal. I have an oldish book so think I might follow along with you. I'll send pictures if things turn out. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I love how you added the book pages ❤️
Good Morning Gayle! Love the start to finish books as well! Well, ok....I love all the things you work on!
Hi Gayle, I just discovered your channel and I found it so relaxing to watch you work. You seem so down to Earth and your journal is so creative. It has really inspired me to use what I have lying around my house right alongside the fun and often-irresistible art journaling/mixed media projects I find on the market. I’m very inspired to try doing a project like this, and I’m so grateful to you for sharing your process without the time-lapse, so I can really see how to approach this kind of thing. I can’t wait to watch the rest of your process creating this journal!
Welcome to my channel, Danielle! I’m so glad you’re here! ❤️
Love love love this book
As a nail tech for like 18 years..your nails do not breath..they get their nutrients from blood and oxygen from your blood supply, and not the air..people say this a lot about wearing polish..lol.. Your fingernails are dead, they don’t hurt when you cut them just like your hair..it only hurts if you cut the cuticles to harsh or if you cut the hyponychium, which is a thicker part under the nail bed near the free edge. Why they yellow? Is because of wearing polish to long, or there wasn’t a base coat put on before the main color is put on..reds and darker colors will stain your nails for sure. Hope this helps.
Hi Gayle, “I ought not”be up so late, but I I had to watch this video!🤣. I haven’t used nail polish since we got grounded indoors except for a couple coats of clear. It took a while to get used to natural nails but I like them now. However, I do miss my mani pedi.
You are an inspirarion gayle. Love you & your works. 😍😘🙂
Gayle! I'm so happy you're doing this! I need this from start to finish. I love your videos! Thank you!!!
This is Nancy Sale~I work at Trinity Lighthouse. What did you call the supplies that you used to work on the spine? Craft ?
It’s KraftTex. 😁. It’s available on my website (listed in the description box under my videos) under Gayle’s Favorite Things at gayleagostinelli.com/gayles-favorite-things/. ❤️
This is so exciting & fun!! Great grungy & vintage style papers that go perfectly w/ this amazing book...TYFS your skill & creativity!! 😊💖 I continue to learn so much from you...you're the BEST!! 👩🏼🏫 📚❣
Love love love these tutorials 🥰 my book is drying and my signatures are ready!! Can wait for the next video, thank you Gayle love from uk 😘
It’ll be a few days before the next episode! I got side tracked with other projects....squirrel!! 😂❤️

Wonderful project w/ terrific paper choices! Thanks so much for showing how we can do it too!
This is wonderful, I love start to finish books
I fell in love with the cover of this book and have ordered one in from Abe Books. I have never seen in multiple signatures into a vintage book so am looking forward to seeing how you do it. Thanks again for taking us along thru the process start to finish!
This is going to be a neat journal - looking forward to watching the progress.
Thank you for doing this! I am very new to junk journaling- this will help do my very first one❣️
I'm looking forward to watching your process making this journal. I love 49th and Market paper! I have a few sets but haven't cut them up yet. Still in the oooo and ahhhh stage lol Hugs..
The end papers are beautiful. They looked 3 dimensional. When you glued the lace in the spine it really looked like all the lace was separate from the page.
Wow, this is going to be beautiful!
Oh my this is going to be such a fun series. Thank you. Hugs 💕💕 Veronica
New sub here!! Can't wait to watch this whole series im super excited and love the way you create !!! Xoxox from Wisconsin
Ooh. I’m excited to see what you do with this journal. I finally bought some this week, including some of yours and I’m looking forward to using them, but I haven’t had digitalis in the past and I’m happy with how they turned out, so your process is going to be wonderful to watch. 😻🐨
Thank you, Rowena! ❤️
Yay I love vintage start to finish! Hugz
This is going to be a real beauty, Gayle! I can see it beginning to evolve! Thanks for modeling your process. From Cheryl in AZ
