This is a dish that anyone can prepare and enjoy. I’m not a meat eater, but I live with some. I’ll make this next time I’ve got some good quality beef in my fridge.
I am very impressed that you can keep your sparkling white kitchen so clean and tidy given the amount of cooking you do. I’d never be able to keep up with the counters and cabinets; I’m not a super messy cook, but sometimes I’m in a hurry and things spill or oil splatters. But you are as always cool as a cucumber while you cook.

Thanks! We're not great at cleaning in our household, so by having everything white it's hard to ignore a mess🤣

You're welcome! Wok's are great if you have a high BTU wok burner, but most Western stoves are made to heat flat bottomed pans so you're better off with a large frying pan. The key is to have a large surface area (ideally with high thermal mass) so the ingredients don't cool off the pan as you add them.

Made this for lunch today, substituting Char Siu Pork for the beef. It was pretty easy to sub in the different protein. Since mine was already cooked, I added the marinade ingredients when the beef was supposed to go in, and I added the pork near the end, just before adding the noodles. It worked perfectly! (And I tossed my noodles in the pan, briefly!😅) The sauce on this is amazing! It would make anything taste fabulous. Thank you for the wonderful, well-thought-out recipe!

Jason loves udon noodles! Do you think I could do chicken or pork rather than beef? I need to go get sake anyway to make your teriyaki sauce.
Great tip about cutting the broccoli.

@NoRecipes I also want to let you know you can make this recipe with a $9US steak. Slices thin and marinated like this, it is tender and delicious and plenty of fat to bring it all together. The chicken was good but not as delicious as the beef. Easy, fast, and a great dinner. Home grown broccoli and some fresh noodles from the Springfield Illinois Asian Market, the name of which I've never heard of before and can't remember. But they looked homemade

I think one easier way to cut the beef would be how we do for fish sashimi which is towards yourself with the spine of the knife on the outside and cutting edge on the inside! Especially usefull when someone is using traditional japanese knifes that have a concave edge where the food is supposed to release from!

    • @NoRecipes
