Of course, it is a consumption prediction, adapting to the difference in consumption rates from cruising to pedal to the metal. A bugatti veyron at top speed has a range of 60 km. I have never seen a suprised comment like that on those videos. I am wondering why people still get supprised by this effect in EVs. Maybe in petrol cars, the "range gauge" has to be actively put onto display, but then again, who would care :)
@@beanapprentice1687 Not entirely true. I drive from Arnhem to Stuttgart regularly, and in the evening i put the cc on 200-210km/h. With that speed fuelconsumption is not that bad, would i do it with an EV, i don't even think i could make a retour without having to stop to recharging.
Although the steering wheel is something I would change, overall I think this car is quite good in all levels 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I would definitely consider this EV model, easily top3.
nothing wrong with a two point steeringwheel. why would a 3 point steeringwheel be better?? i like that free opening instead the third spoke, just lay a hand in there in the wheel for steering. Maybe a third spoke would have some more switches on it you would like ?
It's electric so I expected the acceleration; but I was surprised to notice how stable it seemd at 200kmh. It's hard to judge; because I'm sitting in front of a computer watching the screen; but how does it really feel at high speed? Is it as stable as the video makes it appear?
a video will tell you nothing. And how can you determine if a car is stable when driving straight line with 260 km/h. Thats something every car should do. Try to brake from that speed in a bend, now we are talking about if a car is stable or not.
@@SKELFER911 i know the power difference. What I mean is that most EV’s are quick of the line but not so fast over 100 km/h. 0,2 / 0,3 sec on 100-200 run still makes a difference. Same with few tenth of a sec on 1/4 mile
Also do not forget that even with the same 100-200 time in real world it means that one car may be way ahead of the other. Especially when comparing EV with ICE cars as the EV will have a better acceleration at the beginning so it’ll pull away making it hard to catch up.
@@gappasson absolutely. In real life “race” it’s all about reaction time. A slightly quicker start and you will need a much faster car to catch up. I have a 7,1 sec 100-200 car but in real life I can “keep up” with cars that do 6+ And EV’s have an instant torque advantage as you mentioned.
You need exponentially more power = energy with increasing speed. My favorite example is a Bugatti Veyron. It's fuel tank holds about 12 minutes of top speed travel. That will take you about an equal amount of time to refuel, pay, stretch your legs, and move on. That's how 400 km/h (248.5 mi/h) become half of that effectively. And you can only do this once, because on the next stretch, after 12 minutes at that top speed you need a new set of tires - as these are guaranteed to be safe only for 20 minutes at that speed.
The car moved 13,3km and the range dropped by 67km. If we expect the range just to hold on to a low consumption and just adjust the range by drained energy, the car used about 5x the power it would've in normal driving. Compare that to a ICE: guessing a value of 7l/100km it would use 35l/100km @260km/h, which sounds quite reasonable.
I love my Stinger, and in the UK it's not being sold anymore, but I think I could replace it with one of these. but I ain't touching EV till I absolutely have to.
no, only if you´d constantly brake with the mechanical brakes and accelerate again. Driving at 260km/h speeds is possible for about 60-80km, which isnt that much, but my 350z with half the horsepower will also do only about 150km. Anyway, nobody does it, not even in germany, so its irrelevant-
take a look at the remaining KM available on the battery , the opposite side of the speed indicator . and compare to the real KM the vehicule travels ....
Honestly I expected something more. The acceleration is like a 350hp petrol/diesel car and top speed also. The question is, how long is it able to mantain that pace? The key is not on the battery capacity but in the temperature.
You do know that EVs will experience something called back EMF, which means the motor will go into the state of electric field weakening at high rpms to prevent the back EMF to grow larger.. The thing is, that a small electric motor can put out enough power and reach so high rpms, that is far superior to a combustion engine and therefore for the most customers doesnt need a gearbox with more than one gear. This means, that at speeds like 200kmh and more the real power is far less than the peak power, therefore your 350hp is possibly spot on. You can circumvent that with some adjustments like a second gear (Taycan, etron) or an improved electric motor (Plaid). Anyway, your bottle neck at those speeds likely isnt the battery, but the motor temperature. thermal throtteling at high speeds occurs because the motors overheat, not the battery. The battery isnt even delivering max power, as stated above.
@@romansenger2322 It's no secret that to reach a higher speed requires more energy flow. When we talk about long periods of time at high speeds, the battery discharge will be much higher (as when you play video games on your mobile) and a rapid drain causes an increase in temperature. Then something called the BMS, which is in charge of monitoring both the charge and the discharge of the battery, will notice that the battery is rising and will not allow the discharge flow to continue. The same can happen if the electric machine works with a high intensity of current for a long time and it will be then when a temperature probe will alert the control unit and lower the energy flow. In short, it is difficult for a vehicle with these characteristics to compete with a heat engine with similar characteristics.

63kw/100km.. you could drive 120km at that speed and it would be empty :)
at this point you could also write 63potatoes/100km, which would be just as dumb, because both units are wrong
This KN is the fastest MPV on the market. Looks about as exciting as one too with that gloss black interior and the lovely 2 spoke racing wheel everyone craves for..
Kia. Not a KN

i dont know how you define MPV but I challenge this with a Model X Plaid, which will aboslutly destroy the Kia. It will do faster 0-200 than this Kia does 100-200.
and now.......................................... a dead battery. No thanks I'll stick with my dirty great big V8 Twin RS6 which makes kids cough, grass turn brown and ole people to fall over from the noise. I like that.
263 km/h 163 mph
Steering wheel almost looks like it's upside down.
🔥
Do I understand well if I say that from the minute 1:14 to 2:37 you have burnt 20 km of range?
adaptive range estimation. did you know fuel consumption almost doubles in a diesel car doing 120 or 170 for Long Streches? similar for an EV.
Oh EV's burn range on the fly. Call it adaptive whatever, they are empty so quickly.
Cek celengan Semar semoga cukup buat Minang ni mobil
Civic Si K20 turbo Autobahn?
Who would have thought that a KIA can smoke a BMW M3 in a drag race? 🤣🤣
This does like 11.5 in the 1/4 mile.
11.8 won't beat an M3.
where's the soundcheck ?
Don’t know how fast? You didn’t mention it!
Wow!
wooow 0-200 👍
I love that he is driving fast kia, but he still look on the old BMW
I have nothing positiv to say.
Good job bro.
The future seems to be nothing but silence 🤷🏼♂️
