I mean, I'm not sure most people drive 1000km in one go. By increasing the range, you reduce the efficiency and performance as the weight is drastically increased. Generally... You'll get about 420km in one go, stop for a 15 minute charging break, use the bathroom, grab a coffee, hop back in, and repeat. The car's usually done charging by the time you've walked back to it anyway. I've had more "Supercharging nearly complete, late fees may apply" notification panic runs back to my car than I've had waiting for it to finish charging. You're usually mid drink, checking messages, then get hit with that. 😂

It’s awesome that the plaid S/X can achieve such speed, but it’s not safe going those speeds with others on the road without the proper brakes. When watching a car like the Chiron do this and how effortlessly it can reduce speed I would consider that much safer and the probability of something bad happening significantly reduced. Perhaps if no one was around and going over 150mph it would be less sketchy.
Yes, currently the Plaid Model S has a limiter in place. Tesla will only unlock the top speed when the car also has the additional "package" of extras: An enhanced Braking pads system, body style foils and special performance tyres. Even with the current version, the Brakes are too "soft" and overheat if pushed hard repeatedly. As Bugatti have stated, once you go close to 320ks (approx 200mph) and exceed that, a whole advanced system is required for the car. I think Tesla has developed that whole "package" for an additional cost to install of around USD$50-60,000. But it isn't available yet. Some insiders say the package will be released for the Plaid Model S when the Tesla Roadster supercar gets released. It will be standard on the Roadster that has been promoted as having a top speed of exceeding 250 Plus MPH! (over 400ks) Cheers.
Say what you want about a Tesla but once you've been in one you completely get it. There is literally no other car that can give you the same thrill of a Tesla Model S Plaid, not even close. *From a big petrol and diesel head.*

@@lukp5046 next year we will have that range, and in 10 years we have over 20000 hosrepower and 4000km range, absolutely no problem.
This car ridicules any Ferrari, AMG, M car that costs way more and makes a lot of noise while being slower
@ 1:22 the guy in the Corsa "am I tripping or what? He was way behind me 5 seconds ago"
this is nuts, does it so easily
Insane. In my opinion this exact model is the best car on the planet.
Best for what? Reliability? Not even close. Emotion? Well, think again. Speed? Yes maybe.
@@JeanV1986 Emotion? In a machine? Go with time or its gone with the time
@@simonalyaat you clearly have no clue what you're talking about.
@@JeanV1986 Yes I like the drive the GT3 997 of the parents from my gf. Its fun and sure the sound is also nice. But the moment I got in their Model S I knew that petrol is history :)
Perhaps if no one was around and going over 150mph it would be less sketchy.
the acceleration is superb
American Muscle 💪
You should do the Rimac nevera too.
thats not a production car and costs 2mil, so he probably won't get his hands on it, but would be cool indeed
@@casperdecrook2612 Actually, He got his hands in a Bugatti Chiron. That's more expensive.
@@facundorodriguez1124 oh didnt see that, well then it could be a possibility
Imagine when they unlocked the full max speed via upcoming software update
@@johnwilson5743 Cheers for that mate!
I would want to see a brake test
I think they recently added a better brake option, but still have to go aftermarket for ceramics
If he brakes from top speed right now he would come to a stop by Monday morning
watch the car wow drag race, the 100mph brake test was eye openingly bad.
@@reighbh13 that was with winter tires but still pretty embarrassing
@Haiden Goveia ahh i didnt know that, plus i am not aware of the tyres on the other cars in comparison.
the acceleration is really incredible.
Say what you want about a Tesla but once you've been in one you completely get it. There is literally no other car that can give you the same thrill of a Tesla Model S Plaid, not even close. *From a big petrol and diesel head.*
So fast it comes out of nowhere for the other cars.
One could easily change lanes thinking nothing is in the left lane. 😮
This is why I am dreaming of getting a plaid myself. I feel so poor only owning a Audi S3 8V since it came out. :( But for a second car the Plaid would be nuts lol
Same. Tired of gASSoline cars.
That looks insanely, insanely fast. I’m sure all the Audi, BMW and Mercedes diesel drivers trading up are well able to handle 1000+ BHP and a control yoke. No Plaids will be damaged in accidents at all. Also noted that whilst your videos normally attract 50-100k views, Tesla acceleration catnip has attracted a few hundred thousand Tesla fanboys and owners to tell us all that since they bought a Tesla, they’ve discovered that they’re now experts on everything automotive.
Araç tasarımı harika 👍🏻 Direksiyon simidi tam olsa harika olur
My coffee machine sounds louder to be honest 🤣
Petrol engine forever!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vroeemvroeeeem 🐢 🤦♂️
internal combustion egnines are terrible in every aspect, the ice age is LITERALLY over now by law.
and the law isnt even needed because noboy will make internal combustion cars in 2035 anyway
@@JohnSmith-pn2vl You couldn’t be more wrong! ICE engines are lighter with much more dynamic performance aspects which allow cars to have much more cornering capabilities and also have a fun, emotional aspect to them when rowing through gears. Tesla is GREAT for people that just want to get from A to B. ICE cars are for enthusiasts!
Those cars are impressive. But boring as fuck. I wish they made them more fun. And I wish they looked better. Especially the interior. Now its all just rubish.
Tell me youre broke without telling me youre broke
It's the ugliest steering wheel that I ever seen. Fast, but zero emotion.
can do that long battery overheats
Same for gas cars with 1000HP.
Its Amazing really 😮
How about if front tire explode in high speed mode you will be in memories bro
That’s incredible
I`m so happy that life is not endless...........
What a future.......my deepest condolences !
Nice drive😊
That’s insane
Magic 🤩
I never had S Plaid, but I despise people who don't have one.
That's so crazy 🤯
Pardon me, but the 267 is kilometers per hour, right? So the mph is about 165?
I had the car for the weekend. You have to experience it to wrap your head around what is actually happening. And even the experience will leave you in disbelieve.
Would be the best autobahn Cruiser ever if it had the range. Replacing a part of the battery with a generator would work tho.
Sorry to throw this in, but I have an EV (nothing like as fast as the Tesla Plaid but much faster than the fossil machines around here) and in real life you quickly get a bored with launching just for fun. It is much nicer to waft around without stress at low speeds. I love that EVs can creep forwards really slowly if you want. National speed limit here is 70 mph (about 113 km/h) and there are cameras everywhere. 250 km/h would be quick way to lose your licence.
Cameras everywhere, government constantly harassing and threatening drivers. Yeah no wonder it's stressful.
Most drivers never push their cars to max speed so yeah why not a four seater that can give you the occasional thrill.
Spectacular😍😎
Crazy space ship!
these cars roar of the line so fast the engine sound can't keep up, amazing.
