0-267 (vmax) in 14s. That's actually faster than my first car 0-100.
What was your first car 😂😂
Vmax for less than 14s. I bet this is much more worse than your first car.
Yet it has 1000 hp so its normal
It does 0-266 in 11

4.5 seconds from 90-220 that is actually insane

260kmh is actually terrible!
@@carholic-sz3qv Yes, 267 km/h top speed is very bad for 1020 hp and 1200+ nm torque. 250 hp car can also reach that speed but what do we expect from electric car for top speed it's normal.
@@nejdetmutlu3208 Stuck your 7speed shit car at 7 gear from 0 to 267km/h and post it. Very interesting to see it what time it can do at 0-50.

The feeling of the acceleration in this car is insane. At first it feels fast, but then your mind can’t comprehend that the acceleration continues and continues, you go into a fight or flight mode. It’s wild. I was lucky enough to experience it first hand.
1:1 scale RC car
I know exactly what you mean, when I test drove one I put my foot down and it was almost like I lost the reasoning centre of my brain for a moment and I remember the event slightly strangely like I don't actually recall how long I held my foot down for or when I actually reached for the brakes (or if I even did) and the sheer length and weight of this car is immense, it's like a long body van frame and it weighs more than one too!
Indeed. Two years before I bought a Y LR, a friend took me for a ride in a Model X he had rented. The speed with which it reached 80 blew me away. As you say, it isn't natural! This Plaid must be incredible.
@@DeSinc hahahhahaha my brain before 4-5 weeks on taycan turbo s 🥵
Don't get suckered into this crap
The most impressive thing is when he's waiting for the Corsa to change lanes, he starts accelerating from about 110 when the car in front starts the lane change, and by the time he passes it he's doing 200+
That looked like Astra, I think
Astra
a true rocket.
The driver in the Corsa/Astra was certainly also unsure of what had just happened. For him, it certainly felt as if he had overlooked a fast-approaching car from behind.
Astra
It's like playing videogames on mute
And in 2x speed
and thats the problem.
Exactly what I thought, like the other cars are only NPCs
I rented one, trust me no videogame can make you scream like a child like this car can. Still too expensive IMO but the feeling you get accelerating has to be experienced honestly.
@@JohnLaden Tesla sound insulation is not great, so yes you can hear only the annoying sounds (road, wind etc), and they are nice and loud
If you ever drive a Tesla you'll understand. The power is insane. Like, the power band didn't stop. It's straight up force in your seat the whole time with instant speed zero lag
we are getting a tesla soon im so excited to get the car and go fast pass by other cars!
Yup. Even our Model Y LR in Chill mode is enough to leave the rice bois in their Civic Rs at the lights. Love it! To be fair, they have to manually change up, so even if they have the raw horsepower and top speed, an EV has the constant torque advantage.
@@Aimon30boy The first thing I learned driving a Tesla was: you need to drive more carefully. I started out driving like I used to in my Ford, and drivers around me were getting super mad. Driving a fast car you need to give people more space and time to notice you. Best to use acceleration mostly when you're in front at stop-lights.
@@mrmichrom8553 yeah i noticed that too :D switched from a smart to a model 3 performance. i am still used to holding the peddal to the metal for any acceleration. i find myself entering the autobahn with 200 regularly, its just surreal
@@mrmichrom8553 yes this happened to me some days ago with a bike and the guy got very annoyed at me. They usually enter your lane without expecting that brutal acceleration, and it's not their fault. These acceleration drills should be done without cars or bikes nearby
The 0-200 is completely INSANE!!!!!
6sec bro, ridiculous 😮
The most satisfying thing about this car is the 60 to 120 acceleration (mph). There is no down shift, no pause, just instant, shove you into your seat, silky smooth, silent acceleration. And the pleasure you get from watching the passenger lose their composure when you pop one of those out is the best.
The most satisfying thing is when I smoke some 100000€ + 2 tons tesla in the Corsican twitsy roads with my small hothatch. Sure you smoke me at the redlight, but when you have to drive... hmmm not the same story, and when it's wet it's even more fun 🤣
@@sink2a lol this comment
@@sink2a it was probably a 2012 Tesla ;)
I like that you can hear his breathe exhale sharply during the 0-62 run at 2:13 🤣
I'm sure this has also happened in other brutally fast cars like the 992 911 GTS and Turbo's, you just couldn't hear him take a breath like that with the engine and exhaust note 🤣
I'm hardly surprised that he is a human
Nevera ???
@@dusanbesenic6957 I think my point escaped you
@Lebron James pretty sure it’s kph, not mph. Teslas don’t go 267 mph.
Cause his brain is struggling to keep up.
Had the Plaid for a year and a half now. I have to say that you get used to that acceleration pretty quickly. The problem is when switching back to ANY other car. When I got into a V8 500HP Mustang and hit the pedal to the metal, I was wondering if the engine was faulty or something. Everything else, and I mean, everything, feels like a snail once you go Plaid.
except when you have to turn
So, best not to try one unless you can afford to buy one
100% I jumped in an 800+ horsepower car the other day and thought something was wrong with it because it felt so slow..
That's a good reason not to buy it
Has the Plaid been reliable? I've known some people who had a lot of problems with the car (door handles, electrical, etc)
The take off on these cars is insane it literally pushes you to your seat.
Absolutely breathtaking.. And at the current price point, there is nothing that touches it. Awesome tech. Amazing acceleration. How do people deal with that massive force?
1:18 is a perfect demonstration of this cars insane speed. look at how it closed the gap with the hatchback
and that's the only thing EV's are good for. Straight line speed for a short while. They're not good at cornering let alone on braking
@@ChR0nos_7734 Porsch Mission R disagrees, and thats only just the beginning
EVs are one trick ponys...only accelerating fast in a straight line
Literally Ghosted the poor hatch

As a young man I never would have imagined there‘d ever be a car that fast and yet so unenthusiastic.
I dunno man, I'm not an EV fan by any means but I'm sure this type of effortless and fussless performance has its charm.
Fully realize the car's a one trick pony since it isn't exactly known for its handling or fun, but still. I think it has its place.
@Jonas Jonaitis They're more fun in person! Though you don't have exhaust noise, what you lose from that you gain in 'kick you in the stomach' acceleration, 'drift mode', and the generally very flat and planted feeling of the cars.
What you end up with is a car that's comfortable for long highway journeys, but also an absolute monster when you want it to be, whilst still getting the fuel economy of a 1.0l 3 cylinder Kia.
Sure, it won't be for everyone, but I'd take one on a backroad yourself to judge it yourself first. 👍
sit inside, experience it, and say it again ;)
I said the same, then I rented a Plaid for a day…. It’s absolutely amazing honestly. For a daily it’s unbeatable. You can use the power everywhere without annoying people: This is honestly the best feature people are not thinking about.
I’d still have a fun manual weekend car though 😉
thats the first thing i said to myself also, so fast yet so boring
I tried one of the first model S some years ago with about 3sec time for 0-100km/h, the model 3 didn’t exist yet. That was an amazing experience, this one would be insane! What impress me the most is that the car reaches the top speed in just a few seconds 😮❤
Whats sad is this cars listed top speed is 200mph, but gets capped at 165mph. That is what my Model 3 Performance does, along with a 3 second 0-60mph, for half the price haha.
@@ChiefLunar I runs over 200mph now.

First time I experienced it, it was surreal. My head bumped on the headrest, felt momentarily dizzy and disoriented. Gould not relate the experience to anything I knew so far, even insane motorcycles… it is amazing how this “thing” with the insane torque, can grip the tarmac during acceleration. Then of course like with all things, you get used to it. But that shocking first time experience was really something that will never fade in my memory.

Plaid driver since December here. I absolutely love this car. Topspeed on the autobahn in track mode is 285. In track mode the battery is also conditioned for peak performance.Problem is that the suspension in track mode is just too hard and you can only set this mode when standing still in park.
I thought that Tesla said it should do over 320 km/h. Where is the problem?
@@adamhercog7848, Tesla tells me I need to upgrade my brakes in order to unlock the higher speed limit.
The upgrade is however not for sale: That is Tesla logic for you.
The car could easily do more than 320km/h. It has the power and the aerodynamics for it.
However, besides the hypercar brakes it also lacks the hypercar suspension you want at these speeds.

I mean, I'm not sure most people drive 1000km in one go. By increasing the range, you reduce the efficiency and performance as the weight is drastically increased.
Generally... You'll get about 420km in one go, stop for a 15 minute charging break, use the bathroom, grab a coffee, hop back in, and repeat. The car's usually done charging by the time you've walked back to it anyway.
I've had more "Supercharging nearly complete, late fees may apply" notification panic runs back to my car than I've had waiting for it to finish charging. You're usually mid drink, checking messages, then get hit with that. 😂

Imagine when they unlocked the full max speed via upcoming software update
Yes, currently the Plaid Model S has a limiter in place. Tesla will only unlock the top speed when the car also has the additional "package" of extras: An enhanced Braking pads system, body style foils and special performance tyres. Even with the current version, the Brakes are too "soft" and overheat if pushed hard repeatedly. As Bugatti have stated, once you go close to 320ks (approx 200mph) and exceed that, a whole advanced system is required for the car. I think Tesla has developed that whole "package" for an additional cost to install of around USD$50-60,000. But it isn't available yet. Some insiders say the package will be released for the Plaid Model S when the Tesla Roadster supercar gets released. It will be standard on the Roadster that has been promoted as having a top speed of exceeding 250 Plus MPH! (over 400ks) Cheers.
