Dyno tuning is scary, hearing your pride and joy revved right out over and over again really gets the heart going 😂😂 had multiple scoobys and Hondas tuned on the rolling road.

Had my A4 carbon cleaned at VGS in Swindon and it made a big difference. Excellent service and a quality job. Definitely a carbon clean is a must on a higher mileage Audi/VAG engines.

Brilliant video, Rickys channel is great i do some work for Ricky now and then. Great cause and i think the car is good and it sounded great, most of them could do with a carbon clean so once thats done it will be sweet. Good luck with it and thanks for the great content

Recently took my 17yr old s5 to reperformance for a health run the guys there were awesome Ricky is a top bloke so if anyone worried about your rs5 believe me if Ricky says it ok it’s ok 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I don’t think a Dyno run was needed but it can’t hurt. It wouldn’t have survived a run, definitely not multiple if it was a lemon, as suggested

10% power loss on a DI car at over 80k miles is actually pretty strong. I'd fully expect to pick that back up after a walnut blast (chemical carbon cleans are snake oil, needs media). My V10 R8 was massively coked up at 45k miles so at the least it's piece of mind. Big love to the whole crew at REPerformance.

Back in the day my B7 RS4 was 366bhp on rollers and was one of the first cars to show the coking issues that impacted the V8 engines. A clean saw it close to 390bhp but it never got close to the numbers Audi claimed (420bhp) and in the 108,000 miles I did never felt that fast really. Good road car, superb damping but like the V8 R8 a bit slower than you want it to be. Didnt ruin my enjoyment at any time, but was a bit annoying.
just ignore them i brought my car from a Dealer i wouldn't let people bother you with comment's :) im about watching the vid and it looks great so far if im completly honest i love watching the vids and stuff just do what you think is right in terms of carbon clean im going to put BBS performance rims on my car at some point but thats just me looking forward to the next video.
Definitely ignore the trolls Joe. Glad to see the Audi was fit and healthy (knew it would be) nice wee visit to RE was good diff content.
Had a similar issue with my S5…. Standard should be around 350bhp. Felt sluggish and found out it was running 310bhp. Took it to SCM remaps who carbon cleaned and walnut blasted which on its own restored it to 348bhp. Much better feel and power delivery after the walnut blast. The carbon build up was ridiculous…. These NA v8’s are brilliant but clog up at around 80k miles…..

Seems pretty good for the miles, my mates got a V10 R8 with only 10k on a 14 plate, he gave 70k for it last year, it's like being shot out of a cannon.

Direct injection engines, like the RS5's V8, always lose power thanks to carbon build up over time.
I had my RS5 carbon cleaned at about 60k but I've not dyno'd it.

That's standard to loose that . my rs6 had lost 30bhp within 5 yrs at 80k . I had a few tweaks done including a carbon clean and a re map its now at 700bhp 100 more than when it left the factory plus a gearbox flash so it faster and smoother on the gear changes . And it still puts a smile om my face like it did 5 yrs ago .

Get it walnut blasted. That’s the only proper way todo a carbon clean. The foam method is not worth it on a quality RS5 V8 4.2L engine. That’s a classic car in the making. Great content 👍
Jealousy is an ugly thing , love the car and if it hasn’t had issues in 80k it’s not been used properly but if that had real issues you would know after that dyno run !!

If you're going to carbon clean the engine, walnut blast it. More effective than chemical solutions and lower risk. They use crushed walnut shells to blast the carbon deposits and then hoover out the mess. Chemical solutions try to dissolve the carbon which then passes through the engine & exhaust. Not ideal.

That 10% is nothing over 10 years and most likely at the top end where that engine will shoot you out a cannon at low revs. My dad in the 60s had a garage and I can remember him trickling water in the carb intakes to decarbonise. This vid has brought back that memory. Seems mad but that’s what he used to do. I can remember piles of white smoke
