Shamanism is a system of religious practice. Historically, it is often associated with Indigenous and tribal societies, and involves belief that shamans, with a connection to the otherworld, have the power to heal the sick, communicate with spirits, and escort souls of the dead to the afterlife. The origins of Shamanism stem from indigenous peoples of far northern Europe and Siberia.

No offense man, I love your videos and I'll always speak good of you, but these folks aren't it. I am actually Lakota. I was brought up with my culture and my language. Neither of them know anything about us, our culture, ceremonies, or represent our tribe. Lakota are mostly based out of South Dakota. I think they're new-age spiritualists piggybacking on Lakota clout for their own benefit. Lakota don't even have Shamans. We have wapiya wicasa and wicasa wakan but they're not shamans. I think he's talking about Steven Blue Horse from Rosebud reservation who's here in ABQ NM now but Steven would never call himself a Shaman. The last thing a non-native will understand about us is our religion.

I have to agree with the majority of the comments, no offense, and just my opinion. But first off, I could tell something was wrong the moment I looked into their eyes, Anthony being the worst of the 2, from what I could sense anyway. 2nd, I as well get the feeling this is just more new age monetized hipster bs from this session. Don't get me wrong, getting donations to help with your cause is one thing, but solely making your job to monetize off your religion is just crossing that boundary and damages the morals, ethics, values, principles, and possibly even the history of your cause. Like I pointed out in one of the other comments, as a Drui or Druid, I've seen too much of that especially in Celtic/Brittonic culture where you see "these hipster neo-pagans dancing about in their wreathes and rags and talking about "muh climate change" "muh pretty rocks" "muh humanity" meanwhile spreading toxicity in the human world, littering garbage everywhere in the real world, and monetizing off of the spirits" and it just rubs me the wrong way seeing foreigners, or even my own people, just Disney-fying our cultures and identities into something that's just trash and makes us susceptible to mock ridicule, which if we've learned anything from the Romans that can ultimately lead to religious/cultural destruction. Which were already in a bad state as it is...thanks Christians.

onh and FYI for every female out there you have every last piece of knowledge within you. do the work to connect to your inner being your higher self go outside into the woods the coast the back freakin yard and sit on the earth connect with her through your breath and your body and feel the roots of your energy reaching down into her and then just feel the wisdom flow into your concious mind... Alll those who believe that those who are not of the blood line or of the decent or of the teachings knows nothing of the connection to the ancestors and the fact that nothing is lost its just hidden from those who cant handle the power due to not being raised to handle that amount of energy flow every day of their lives... when you connect you dont get a choice anymore... if you attempt to reject yourself it will kill you becuase your body will literally turn on itself.

There’s nothing wrong with new age/core shamanism from a practice perspective, but the cultural appropriation and misrepresentation… even the term “Shaman” is stolen from a *Siberian* practice. There are some definite similarities in most tribal spiritual traditions, but a South American practitioner isn’t going to be using a Siberian term to describe their spiritual practices. This is new age spirituality… which I’m not knocking, but don’t try to present it as some ancient tradition.

Europeans especially people practising Norse and Celtic religion really should stop using word "shaman" Very insulting to indigenous peoples according to my experience. Europeans had their own spiritual path and had own terminology for those things like seithr, volva, druid, oracle etc. Even we may find some similarities to religions in the world doesn't justify calling seithr practise and druidhood shamanism.

I did. I woke up one day and decided I wanted to practice on my horse. So I tought myself about the meridian lines on her body and started doing energy work on her and correcting all of her energy blockages... then a friend asked me to do it to her back so I did. Then my soul brother told me he wanted to atume me so he did and then I was "certified" but to be perfectly clear here every single person on the planet has the ability to practice reiki. every one can do it because every one is a human and every human is an energy conduit... its very frustrating to me that you believe its a calling .... simply becuase you just specialized yourself above every other person who isnt sure if they are bieng called to or not... you do not have to be called to do reiki you can just choose to do it.... FYI I am the Norse Bloodline and I am past the High Priestess I am the Alchamist so please dont try and school me sir. You are barrowing a power from the femine divine that was never truly intended for you.

Its originally from Siberia and came to mean a bunch of different types of priests and healers over time like for example medicine people in Native American culture are considered to be shamans be some or the African priests that go into trance so I think the term is approach for norse pagan leaders like Gothis and Volvas because they sometimes go into trance I have also read about Siberian shamanic practices and Norse pagan trolldom which are very similar. So I think the term is fine for all types of healers and priests.

@@asgrim1513 I have studied Norse paganism in depth and many other shamanic traditions like Mongolia and a little bit of Native American medicine and have compared these traditions and can they are all similar like in the way we sing prayers and the ceremonies like the fire ceremony is very common tradition.
