What a difference 8 years sober makes! : I'm in Prague

- 8 years ago, I would already be lost, drunk, doing insane things, and leaving empty! I'm in Prague and taking in all of the history and amazing things there is to do and see here, without getting drunk and without bending my moral compass!

Made it to 2 + 1/2 months sober. Big achievement for me today.

Life is better when you’re present! I just heard that the best way to get over something, is to fully feel your emotions. So many times I didn’t allow myself to fully feel my emotions and would suppress them with alcohol. Last night I was struggling and I was so tempted to go out, but I went to the gym and got the BEST lift in! I started feeling better already.

I've gotten drunk many times, but only occasionally and casually, and I've never succumbed to booze or drugs (I've never gotten high), so it's somewhat difficult for me to put myself in the shoes of someone who is battling the demon of alcohol for 8 years already. Anyway, coming to our country where bottled beer is cheaper than bottled water, with the aim of staying here sober - that's what I call a trial by fire! 🤔🤨 If you passed without losing a token (is that what you get in AA right?) - thumbs up! 👍👍

But it's maybe better we taking a pause now so we can enjoy our travels together...when we traveled before it was always not much fun for me and I'm sure it was not fun for him either to try to get drunk we on different levels and it just not fun.
I'm just witnessing someone being sober for over 7 years relapsing pretty hard again.
