Your videos always put me in a good mood! I discovered your channel and binged a bunch of your videos about a year ago. It's nice to have you back!
Lately I've been trying to only do about 2 or 3 bigger series at once. And in between I'll read stand-alones and trilogies or smaller series when I need the break. Im afraid if I start too many long ones I'll never finish!!
Also the new camera is great! I can really tell the difference 🔥
Thank you so much Kayla, that is a very kind thing to say.😊
That's always the worry when you start so many that you won't finish them. I agree about long series, hard to have a lot going at once.
Oh I'm glad you can tell the difference with the camera. Thank you for sharing.
💚 perfect color
Thank you!
Love the new camera, it looks very nice, crisp.👌 I could talk all day about series. I have sooo many on my shelves! Some I've finished (Wayward Pines❤) some started, and some I'm saving. I love getting a new series in the mail and putting them on my shelves. Something about a group of books...lol. I buy more than I have time to read. I have good intentions though! I usually read a couple, then take a break. I hate the recapping in the next, when I read them back to back. But I also make sure I have the next, so I'm not left hanging. Right now I'm reading Desert Places by Crouch. I agree, his are hard to put down.
Also reading Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn. Really liking it so far.
Thank you very much for the feedback on the camera. I have just finished Wayward Pines. Yes there is something special about seeing a series on your shelves.
I think you know what I think about the new camera (and the lens!) :D What a great angle
😂 I'm in love with it. The video's a little dark but I'm sure I'll eventually get the hang of it.
Love the new camera !
Me too! 😂
I just got here and I am delighted with you Kathi! What an interesting, smart, funny and warm soul you are 🤍
I will definetely hang out here more often!
Thank you for such very kind words, I am touched. 😊
I’m reading series by Christie, Elizabeth George, Martha Grimes, Georgette Heyer, Patricia Wentworth’s Miss Silver’s series, Deborah Crombie and planning to start P.D. James and Ngaio Marsh. I’m enjoying the Thursday Murder series, the third one being my favorite. I rarely read fantasy or sci-fi. I read Dark Matter by Blake Crouch and enjoyed it however. And I read Cloud Cuckoo Land last year which I think might fall into one or more of those categories.
You have a few going as well Gerri. I'm intending to try Wentworth, PD James and Ngaio Marsh at some point as well.
Thank you for sharing.
If you like Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire Mysteries, you might like the A&E TV series. Walt Longmire is played by fellow Melbournite, Robert Taylor, also known as Agent Jones in The Matrix.
I know of the show and thought I'd wait until I read a few more books as I don't want to catch any spoilers from the show.
Same as here, I like to take breaks from each books in series. I am reading An Echo of Things to Come ( 2nd book of The Licanius Trilogy), because I enjoyed the first book; The Shadow of What Was Lost. I didn't have enough money to get the 3rd book on my birthday, but I will wait to get it. I like to enjoy this one Paranormal romance called the Dark-Hunters, because there's 21 books in the series and I want to read couple books in the series. I also am taking break from IDW'S TMNT comic and I need to catch up some mangas. I am not done with Faithful and the Fallen, because I got Wraith to read.
The Licanius trilogy may be one I'd like to try in the future. Thank you. Sometimes it's nice to savour a series rather than race through it.
Kathi, Have you read "The Auctioneer" by Joan Samson? It was originally published in the 1970's and have been out of print for decades until recently. It's a slow burn with the character development much like Stephen King. You might check it out, it's an excellent read.
I've put it on my list, thank you!
I think Longmire was a tv series that I enjoyed. Never read the books though
I think you'll enjoy the books as well. I'm going to watch the show after I've read a few more.
Have you read Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series by Tad Williams ? I think you’d like it ! Also since you enjoy sci-fi and Red Rising I recommend The sun eater series by Christopher Ruocchio. Happy reading
I read one and a half books in the series many years ago but for some reason never finished it. I'm intending to try it again at some point. I've got Ruocchio in my list to try, thank you.
@@NerdyKathi Thanks for your reply ;) I hope you are enjoying the weekend
I'm reading a few, Percy Jackson, (I come and go, I do enjoy it but I take long breaks,) Phryne Fisher Murder Mysteries, Inspector Allyen Mysteries, Inspector Grant Mysteries, Foundation Series, Robert Macdonald Series📚
You're reading a nice mix. I've added some that I haven't heard of to my list, thank you! Miss Fisher and Allyen are series I'm looking to try soon.
@@NerdyKathi thank you, I learn from you every video I watch, like your video on buying classics, that was the most helpful one I have seen. I love both of those series, Miss Fisher is from Kerry Greenwood, she is a Melbourne writer so you might get them a lot cheaper than I can. Start from the beginning with that series. I have just discovered the Allyen series myself, I have read 11 of them, I started at the beginning but Inspector Allyen clicks better with Agatha Troy and she doesn't come into it till Artists In Crime, don't get me wrong I loved the early ones, but he is even better with Troy. I hope you enjoy them.
You know my love of Longmire and Stephanie! As I sat here watching the video a chill ran over me. How many series am I in the middle of. 🤔 oof... do I want to know? 😂😂
😂🤣 Do you want to know?
Oh no. I'm afraid of what the number would be. I guess I'm going to need to count.
😂 That was my reaction.
@@NerdyKathi so I did it. 28 that I extended to continue.🤦♂️
I’m also in the middle of 12 series, the Wheel of Time and Discworld being the longest two. I definitely need a break between books - it can take many months for me to finish a trilogy!! Love the new camera 😊
So it's not just me. Those are two very long series and I'm so glad you like the camera. 😊

I don't always binge a series, depends on the series.
Thank you.
I am currently reading mistborn and red rising series i alternate I read my books slow and take my time I have two important the books into my country if it's not available here so is very costly sometimes
Importing books is expensive, and 2 series is very manageable.
I skipped ahead in Diskworld to read about Granny Weatherwax; she's a lot of fun. I'm not really a fantasy reader, prefer mystery. I used to binge read series, but these days I am likely to lose interest quickly so tend to pace myself. Another mystery series set in Wyoming is the Joe Pickett series, a game warden, by C J Box. Also there was a Longmire tv series which was enjoyable. Great topic!
I love Granny, and maybe on a re-read I'll stick with characters, but on this first read I'm enjoying reading them in publication order. I'll look into the Joe Pickett series, thank you! I'm intending to try the Longmire show once I've read a few more books.
I just stumbled upon your channel.I am touched by your love for books.Wish I had someone like you in my family.
I saw your hard covers of Stephen King!!!! Man they looked awesome!!!
Do u use a Kindle as well for reading?
Or is it only hard covers ???
Take care and much love from India.
Hello and welcome. 😊 I actually grew up in a family that wasn't into reading. I've been collecting Stephen King for many years now, and whilst I have many hardcovers I also have paperbacks. I use a Kobo ereader as well. Audiobooks are the only format I don't use as I get distracted.
