Thank you. It is a very complex process to make sure everything is working well together. When I was fitting the bit to my new horse I made a really, now that I think about it, stupid mistake. I was standing on the left side and so just looked from the left side to see where the bit was sitting in his mouth. Everything looked really good and he seemed comfortable while I was riding him with it. After watching another bit fitting seminar from Wendy I decided to look on the other side and there was an upper canine tooth there that wasn't on the left side!! The bit could actually tap that canine tooth. I immediately changed that bit and found that my bridle could not adjust well enough to fit his head as well as hold the bit where it needed to be. So, I purchased a Micklam bridle which can make many adjustments. I ended up having to spend a good amount of money to get even that adjustable bridle altered to make sure it fit him properly and especially to make sure that the cheek piece buckles were not sitting right in the middle of his TMJs. I'm very happy with how the bridle and new bit are fitting him and he seems to be also. 😊🐴
Wow great job. Some changes are easy to make yourself by just having a proper look at your horse and it's reactions. So nice to hear this and former webinars made you more aware and helped your horse.

I wish we had a transcript of the webinar. I know she made a reference to Why historically bits and bridles were used but I can't find it
