Camping plans PIVOT! | Hike Sugarloaf Mountain and Lakenenland

- When our cabin camping plans went awry for the second night, we made the best of it and ended up having a fantastic day of hiking up Sugarloaf Mountain and checking out Lakenenland near Marquette, Michigan.
Sugarloaf Mountain is located about six miles north of downtown Marquette on CR 550. Its only about a half to three-fourths of a mile hike up depending on which route you take.
Lakenenland Sculpture Park is the creation of sculptures built from scrap iron. 15 miles east of Marquette, Michigan, on highway M-28, across from Shot Point Road. Stroll or drive through the free display, open around the clock every day of the year. You may also find it along the snowmobile trail #417.
Sometimes things don’t always go as planned but it looks like you had a good time and memories were made and that’s what’s important! Good job mom.

I so enjoy seeing a parent spending quality time with their children. I also enjoy when that time is spent in nature and getting some great exercise with it (I need to do more of this myself). Lakenland looked so cool. Both of you had fun for certain! Something seems to be happening the last two videos. The scenery is fantastic. Marquette area is very nice. Also Munising has boat tours of the Pictured Rocks and Sunken Ships.

Lakenland is one of the coolest places I've been. It's hard to believe that the township officials didn't even want it there.
