Wow, thanks, that's a huge shout out! I hope I can keep delivering videos that are interesting and engaging, and I hope you keep coming back and watching them. Thanks again!
Man I am SO excited for when I can international travel again. I am like you and haven't travelled since late 2019. We are going back to Europe for family this Christmas and get to go on THREE!!! international flights. Awesome video to remind us of the good time :)
Thank you! It was actually a bit weird - I had forgotten some of the basics, like who needs to see which documents, and, you know, to check whether my seat was ok! I hope your travel at Christmas is straight forward and you make all your connections. The travel requirements are changing all over the place, but the overriding theme seems to be that they are relaxing - I hope you don’t get caught out anywhere.
That’s incredible kind of you to say! So on Aviation Tomatoes tomato scale, 1 being low and 10 being high, how many Aviation Tomatoes do you reckon? Thanks so much for watching, and even more so for taking the time to comment. I hope I can keep providing watchable and enjoyable videos for you.
glad I watched this, I'm booked on a qantas flight home to NZ from Melbourne in dec, just checked and I was booked in seat 9A, which I swiftly changed!
An outstanding post Covid trip report… can’t imagine how it must’ve felt flying Intl after such a long and forced absence. Thanks for sharing- you’ve whet the appetite for me! 👍
Thanks! It was super weird, but now that I’ve done one I completely want more too - I definitely overthought the logistics, it wasn’t as hard as it seemed. Hopefully you get on an international yourself soon!
thanks for the heads up on windowless window seats! ill avoid Qantas and fly on Air NZ. flew on the A320NEO from AKL to CHCH recently. it was very nice.your information is informative and helpful to fellow travelers both internationally and domestically. keep it up!
You are more than welcome, and thanks. The NEOs are really nice - I am part way through a MEL-WLG video on one, and every time I work on it I am reminded how nice it was!
That's so kind, thank you so much. I feel like I'm a bit slower at producing them that I should be to really feed the UA-cam algorithm, but I can't help myself - I get so into the details and really want to get the facts right, and it just takes time to check and verify everything. I'm so pleased you like the result, and thanks again for watching.
@@SupersonicKiwi Perhaps forget about the YT algorithm. Your passion is the best feed for any algorithm, as us audience could feel it. So does the YT algorithm. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! I've been adding in a bit more general information, and I'm so happy that someone out there on the internet likes it! That's all the positive affirmation this approval starved UA-cam needs... There will definitely be more to come!
Great video!! Your energy, positive vibe and clear explanations were all spot on. I've now subscribed to your channel. PS: I also was disappointed when reminded that a paper arrivals card was still required, despite the DPD. Gah!
Thanks so much for watching, and a double thank you for subscribing. The same thing happened on the way back with having to fill in an electronic document and then also having to fill in a paper form. But that’s for a later video! Thanks again.
Thanks! Yes, the rules were changing every week, but it was nice to be able to travel again, even if it was a bit of a pfaff. I hope you had a great time in sunny Brisbane!
Funny, I think they served the same breakfast on board when I took my first flight on Qantas back in 2016, also on a 737 and also out of AKL (to SYD). I do remember it being delish! - Red
I get the feeling every full service airline serves the same breakfast, although most have a bun. I do like a bun! I hope you enjoyed New Zealand. I’ve flown over Omaha a few times and drove through Nebraska in the 80s while living in WI, but never spent time there. The Midwest is the home of delicious - the food tastes so amazing. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! That's an interesting idea - I've never flown via Christchurch before, I've alway either flown direct from Wellington or via Auckland. I usually go via Auckland if I'm craving a bigger plane or have a business upgrade to use, and it looks like Air New Zealand fly A320s CHC-MEL, and Qantas fly 737s. It's tempting just to get a new route though...
It felt like a bit of an own goal, if I’m completely honest. I had a moment of “I’ll never be able to make a video of this without a window”, but where there’s a will there’s away!
@@SupersonicKiwi I’ve had some pretty average flights with them over the years. I’d book air NZ , I find them better. Living in Auckland , choice of aircraft is better too and the food.
@user-im3hr1ed2l oh, that’s no good. Yes, I agree that Air New Zealand is better trans Tasman, although I do like that every fare class on Qantas gets a meal. You’re right that out of Auckland has more options, for sure, but being from Wellington I find that they’re not worth the extra time and the transit. I have done it in the past to make use of an upgrade though, haha.
Nice video! I love the enthusiasm, which makes this my favourite flight review channel. Great job!

I'm subscribed to many Aviation Review channels and this by far is the most enjoyable, not overkill just simple good content.

this was so helpful and informative, oh and funny thank you. I keep changing my mind to visit melbourne but i think im going to do it.
I hit the trifecta! Maybe I should stop now…
You should go, it’s a great city. Stay near the river. Have fun!

Great review - love the enthusiasm in your review and detail of the aviation geek aspects of the journey. Looking forward to your next flight review.
