My 6 yr old son and I have really enjoyed all your flight videos! They're great quality and very entertaining. We now have a list of planes we're going to be looking for while at the different NZ airports we will be at on our trip to NZ we start this week! Keep up the great work
I'm so glad it was helpful! Remember to put the bag tag on the long side of your suitcase!! I hope you have a great trip, and more importantly an amazing flight.
@@quinnneal8704 If you're going from Christchurch or Queenstown it'll likely be very similar, but Qantas fly a mixture of 737s and A330s out of Auckland and I'm pretty sure (but not 100% sure) they fly both to Brisbane. Brisbane is lovely this time of year - I hope you have a great trip!
What an amazing review once again! Sorry that I was a bit late to see this one. I will be honest I got super excited when I saw you are selling merch! I have never bought it from any other channel as it has never interested me. This however, I think is super cool! The carry on backpack is so tempting!!!!!!! I also thought the 5/10 water bottle was hilarious, it took me a second to understand it but when I did it was super funny!
Thanks! I spend a long time looking at the different merchandise options, and went with RedBubble because they have a neat range, and the ability to completely customise the designs (like with the bags) - the downside is that their stuff is a bit more expensive, their site is a bit tricky to navigate, and there's no UA-cam integration. Maybe I should be a range of stuff with one of the UA-cam endorsed outfits - it'll be branded but I don't think I'll be able to make them as fun.
Thanks so much - they're definitely getting much tighter, and I've made some significant changes to how I'm editing them and how I'm approaching the music, and I'm glad that those changes are delivering better videos! My flights were great, and the holiday was absolutely amazing, thanks!
Another superb video as I always anticipate! Regardless of the repetitive and lengthy words/feedback that I share for your videos, but despite any circumstances/challenges one may be going through at any time, I shall continue to gift my valuable support, and many hopes that you keep enjoying your passions, and wish all the best for your journeys/endeavors that you strive to accomplish, with a well deserved and bright future! I applaud you for the spectacular work and effort you have always been sharing, as you deserve more positive feedback, support/encouragements and appreciation from your fans and audience! 😄👍
Oh, that's weird - it's definitely there, because that's where I got mine from. RebBubble has limited navigation options though, so it might be a bit confusing to find. Here's a link directly to the backpack I was using on the flight - it's a pretty standard backpack (except for the fact that it's VERY yellow, and has Wellington's runway (16/34) wrapping around the bottom of it). www.redbubble.com/i/backpack/Yellow-Runway-by-Supersonic-Kiwi/148060266.K1KHE
Is that saying that there's more of my content that you haven't seen yet, or that I seem to be dragging my heels a little bit on getting content out? I can't help with the first, but on the second, I have been beavering away on the DXB-LCA flight, but as it often the case with the last flight on a long journey my footage isn't awesome, haha, so there's a bit more editing going on to make it all work, but it is coming!
I’d be keen to fly Qantas to Aussie, just so I get to fly on their new A220 somewhere around Aussie just for adventure., have watched the Qantas new A220 on yourube & reckon it be awesome to fly on!.
I’ve been hoping to get on a 717 before they are gone, but sadly I think I’ve missed that boat. Hopefully the A220 will be as great as the E190, which I actually quite liked.
Seems relevant: ua-cam.com/video/0wUADZgZvaQ/v-deo.html I have a back burner project / pipe dream of making a video about 747s in Wellington, but I keep getting distracted from it. Such great planes, and I'm having trouble coming to terms with the fact I might not fly on one again.
Nice trip report mate. Your meal was better than what they served for dinner on qf3 akl to jfk last month. Why is qf catering so inconsistent lol. Happy travels!
It’s America probably more flights departing from that airport so the quality isn’t the best cause they product more quantity . Also there wages arnt the best .
Thanks! My experience is that it can be a bit hit and miss, maybe try the chicken salad next time, haha. I hope you had a good time in New York! I haven’t flown that route yet, the longest I’ve done is Auckland to Houston - how were the extra few hours?
NYC was fantastic....the direct flight makes a visit there so much easier than a connecting flight. Qf 787 is pretty good in economy...good legroom.... definitely get a numb bumb after 17hrs. Catering was great on the return qf4 , they had the chicken salad! I agree, it was yum 🤣 Kiwi crew couldn't be faulted. Super friendly and relaxed.
Air New Zealand’s seats a a little bit wider and most of them have more space between your seat and the seat in front. Their planes are a bit newer and have more modern in flight entertainment systems. Qantas gives a meal to every booking class. Both have fairly standard seats - pretty firm. Air NZs have a bit of a bucket shape, which some people don’t like, but I don’t mind.
Hey i just started watching your video and they are cool to watch Would you do video a transit flight from Hamilton to christchurch to queenstown? I'm just curious cause I'm wondering if you have to check in at christchurch Airport to fly to queenstown after you fly from Hamilton
I doubt I'd get the video made before your flights, so I'll just answer your question: probably not, but it depends. If they're both on the same ticket, so you booked 'Hamilton to Queenstown' and the Air New Zealand site returned the two flights as though they are one, then your back will be checked right through to Queenstown (you'll know this for sure when you check in at the airport because each of your bag tags will have both CHC and ZQN on them - like in this video where the bag tag has SYD, DXB, and LCA - you can see it from about 1:25 to 1:40), and if this is the case then your bags will be transferred between your flights without you having to do anything. You will have two boarding passes though, one to CHC and another to ZQN, and you'll get off one plane, go into the terminal, and line up again to board the plane to Queenstown. I'd imagine that both flights will be on ATR-72s (you can check the aircraft type in the booking on the app), so you will change flights in Christchurch at the regional gates, which is super straight forward. Every time I've flown out of Hamilton the ground staff have been awesome, so just ask one of them to help you at check in, and they'll talk you through it. And if you're unsure in CHC ask the cabin crew as you're getting off, or one of the ground crew in terminal.
Γειά σου Gerard,. Entertaining review. I usually avoid the narrowbodies trans-Tasman if I can, flying through AKL. QF is usually a reluctant 2nd or 3rd choice to Oz, due to the squishy seat pitch on the 738 (and even the A330) and having to choose the right time to dash down the aisle to the rear loo. With Air NZ, there's a greater seat pitch and the front loo is available to plebs like me in Y. If I had to do WLG - LCA, I think I would have done EK from CHC if the price was similar. Happy flying 😁.
I agree, but for me the direct from Wellington is just so convenient, and it’s only a few hours. In the last few months it been on the QF 737, the QF E190, and the AirNZ A320neo. The A320neo is easily the best aircraft of the three - quiet, comfortable, and a modern fit out.
I’m divided between working through the other two or mixing it up a bit and finishing some of my domestic reviews. What would you prefer? And, yes, now that I’m over 1,000 subs I am getting a little bit of a return on my ‘investment’ - I’m not sure it will ever actually break even, but it all comes in handy!
Great video, yes I understand that it was on board a B737-800 (I'd be nervous -not normal for me and flying) food looked great. As a Brit I have to ask, are you able to PICK the aircraft you fly on when you book? Or is it like the UK just pot luck? Hope Qantas loses its bad reports and gets back to the Qantas I used to fly on years ago.( days of the 747-400!)
It's the same as your experience, you don't get to pick the plane for a particular sector, but by choosing your route and / or airline you can increase your probability of getting onto a certain type. For example, Qantas currently only fly 737-800s in and out of Wellington and Queenstown - if you want to get on a Qantas A330 you'd probably fly via Auckland (I can't remember, possibly out of Christchurch). From what I understand, Qantas are hoping to get another decade out of their 737 fleet, so it seems odd to me that they're not revamping them - they do have a bunch of A220s on order, so maybe they'll experiment with frequency vs capacity on their trans Tasman routes before committing to refits in the 737s. Thanks for watching!
It's available in my RedBubble store: Supersonic-Kiwi.redbubble.com - I'm thinking about setting up a Spring store as well, so I can integrate it with UA-cam better, but the backpack and water bottle new from RedBubble. Thanks for watching, and a massive thank you for wanting to check out my merch!
Hi there, yes, I'm very well, thanks. I hope you're doing ok as well. I'm not sure whether they had spirits, but they probably did, so would have been able to make a vodka and lemonade.
Thanks! What's your beef with the 737? Apart from it not having Unit Load Devices for baggage, the cabin is 17cm narrower than the A320, and it has a pointy nose... hahaha, no, honestly, why don't you like them?
@@zf5167 Yes, Boeing did a terrible job with the Max roll out, and Airbus have done a great job with the Neo transition and the similarities between the A320/A350/A380 cockpit layouts, as well as the single type rating for A319/A320/A321 - just a shame the engine shortage and faster than expected engine wear is tarnishing the Neo release.
