The first Led Zep song that showcases the brilliant John Paul Jones' keyboard skills.
There's a gospel/soul feel to it that showed on the 1st album that they more than just a blues based hard rock band.

I bought a Gibson J-200 exclusively because I always loved the sound of Page's acoustic work on this album. Well....it's a gorgeous guitar, too. I've had it over 20 years now and it's still my favorite acoustic of all the ones I own!

I'm glad you've been going through the entire catalogue because so many do the usual songs but don't look deeper. I love John Paul Jones' church-like organ playing until Bonzo's cymbals crash like having ice water thrown in your face. This song was written by Jimmy and is one of a handful where they harmonize together on the "your time is gonna come" refrain. It's a sleeper gem of a song.

John Paul Jones' instrumentals are impressive.
They were heavily influenced by delta blues artists, very soulful song.

Bob Dylan on Theme Time Radio Hour #14, "Devil": "According to legend, Robert Johnson made a deal with the devil, at the crossroads of Highway 61 and Highway 49, in Clarksdale, Mississippi. I don't know if Robert Johnson sold his soul to the Devil, but he sure did get his ticket punched early."
Dylan has always had such an elegant way with words.

Reminded me of my first decent stereo system I purchased in the 70s. Which I still have btw. 21 yrs old. First apartment
. With the addition of a new turntable, I started buying new records. Having played some so many times, I wasn't about to put an old LP under a brand new cartridge (needle) Cassettes were the thing for car systems. So I would record my records the day I bought them. Then play the cassette instead. So all my records are mint. Barely used. Including this one. With some ability to play with recording levels on my deck, I tweaked that intro, when the band comes in at the end of the organ. I know. Pretty nerdy. Lol. I just always loved that part. And wanted it louder. Great recording for the day

Yeah man I should have warned you the song segues into the other one it's kind of like a cool acoustic song that sounds sort of Indian it's really awesome and and it would have been better to do both of them together just like Heartbreaker it goes right into living loving maid it was kind of a smart marketing idea because a lot of radio stations they would just play both songs in fact a little acoustic instrumental song which is really cool by the way I mean it doesn't even have any vocals which is amazing I don't know of any other Zeppelin song with no vocals but there is a song right after your time is going to come and then that one goes right into Communication Breakdown you know I just really don't realize these things until someone else reacts to it I mean when I was a kid it was all about the vinyl you just put the record on and play it and it's the way it works you know cuz it just goes it from here there and that's all good because it's not going to get cut off abruptly it's just like a beatles thing you know they got that one album Abbey Road and when you go from You Never Give Me Your Money you just got to play it from there all the way to the end of the album cuz it's just like one big medley and it's Alan Parsons he's the one who helped produce that and he's the same guy who did Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon which has the whole thing you got to do side won and you got to do site to cuz everything goes together all right my man well he was a good reaction anyhow but yeah you like to check out the look at this look at the order of the songs and see what I'm talking about and then just do the instrumental song right after this one and have it go right into you no communication breakdown but I don't know where you're getting your material from you know if you just taking it off of UA-cam or whatever but all right my man I will check you on the next drop that was awesome John Paul Jones is so underrated man that was an amazing Oregon PCA pulled off there sorry that was Google he did an amazing work on the Hammond organ

I bought this in West London when it first came out after seeing them singing Communication Breakdown on TV. I can remember the shop and even what the weather was like. For me, this is their best. I bought the second album but skipped the rest. They used to use whole chunks of songs by the old Black blues artists but pass it off as their own. The British groups were admired in the States for paying royalties to these old men, often poor. Zeppelin were differentThey had so much money as to pay plenty to these people. . It put me off them.

I bought this album in West London when it first came out having seen them perform Communication Breakdown on tv. It’s my favourite of theirs. After that l gradually lost interest. They used to use lyrics and riffs from older Black artists and never gave them credit or money, unlike most other British groups. Many of these artists were living in virtual poverty.
