This character is such a huge nostalgia trip for me. She was my favorite as a kid, and my grandad first showed me this franchise. All around good soft memories. Thank you for restoring her.
This turned out so nice! Your cleaning game is so so good! I'm a costumer, and I dye a LOT of fabric for clients, so here are a few tips I can offer: It's actually really hard to dye the pony with such a diluted concentration of RIT dye. They hair is nylon, which is a very easy to dye material. I've dyed a few white pony's hair and the dye never takes to the plastic. That being said, it *Can* leech into the pony if the hair touches the pony for extended periods of time (think Surprise and her chartreuse hair). I would recommend a dye stop after you dye the hair. It helps deactivate the pigments and prevents them from excessive bleeding. Also, between dyes (like your pink to yellow), use cold water, not hot to stop bleeding. It's like the care instructions suggest a cold washing cycle on richly pigmented clothes (like red shirts which bleed a LOT). Same principles apply here. I would also recommend storing a pony with dyed hair with the hair wrapped in tissue or paper towel just to be on the safe side. Your pony is pink on pink, so you have very little to worry about. :)
Thank you for making and sharing and creating these wonderful videos. It’s so soothing and healing watching these lovely little ponies be lovingly restored. Thank you 💖

i've been going down a rabbit hole watching your videos lately and honestly i'm not upset about it in the slightest lol also i've noticed in previous videos where you wrap the ponies heads and rears in paper towel to protect them from being rubbed off during cleaning, and i figured id leave a comment with a tip, to help with that! f you don't already know this, you could probably cut out pieces of masking tape to put around the eyes and symbols to protect them from being rubbed off during cleaning. it leaves you with a lot more surface area to work with so you don't potentially end up with weird patchy bits, plus its not as clunky. i've used this trick on a couple of projects and let me tell you it has been a LIFESAVER when it comes to preserving certain details i don't want to remove, paint over or mess up accidentally 😅 love your content, keep up the awesome work dude! :D
Wow, thank you so much! And welcome aboard 😊 I'm really glad you're enjoying the videos. Thank you for the tip!! I use masking tape sometimes but I found an issue with it: If I keep it for too long, the glue sticks to the pony and it's really difficult to remove without acetone. It's really helpful that you don't do the same techniques each time. You could have easily just re-rooted the hair. Hi! Love how it turned out all the restoration ! Quick question , what type of glue did you use to put the pony head? I’m currently doing a restoration for a minty but, I have my doubts of what glue is best for those cases.
The note is such a cute idea! Reminds me of the people who put a pic of them an their bunny behind a wall with a light hearted note saying “what was wrong with the way we remodeled it?”

@@RetroGeekCrafts I've actually tried it, most colours are very very faint or don't take at all sadly... it's similar for dying synthetic wig hair, they just don't have the right chemistry to heavily stain :( who knows though, maybe if its something like bright green it would do more, but usually it just washes out in warm water and sometimes can be infectious to the body since as far as I'm aware you can't seal it

Hello! Happy holidays ❤️ So in love with your videos ❤️ i have a little collection of Little's pet shop pets, and they have a bit of rusty areas around their neck and i thought on cleaning them (inspired by you, it would be my first time doing this), would you recomend just acetone or the hydrogen peroxide treatment? 🧐
Happy holidays to you too!! 😊😊 (a little late, I mean I hope you had good ones!). Rusty areas can sometimes be removed with soap or something a little more abrasive like Ciff cream. Or vinegar and baking soda! But I don't think acetone will do much for them, if you can't remove them with these then you might need to try peroxide.
Oh! This is one you got two versions of! The first Lickety Split you did was green wasn't it? I believe that was one of the Argentina alternate colorations? It's so cool to see the same pony in a different color because of where it was manufactured. That's super neat!
You're right! It was one (of the MANY) Argentinian version(s). I actually just checked and they are so many made there! Zero concern for brand guidelines :P
🥺🙏 Hello, I have three ponies from the G4 but one had its tail cut off, how do I change it? Another thing, what do you recommend applying to remove nail polish stains on plastic, without damaging the pony? Lastly, how can I style the pony's mane? I'm from Mexico, could you answer me in Spanish please? 🥺🙏
Hola Ricardo!
"...because acetone can be really really bad for your lungs" Me, who's worked in a plastic factory for 6 years using acetone to clean ink plates: *YES.*
Ouch! I hope you're okay! I learned how bad it can get when I did one of my first restorations and I breathed it in for over an hour. My throat hurt so much for at least a week. Really scary :/
She came out beautiful! can you share the brand name for the paint brushes you use? I am unable to find very small stiff enough brushes for the painting.
That made a big difference, and you didn't have to rehair at all. Have you ever tried restoring G1 seaponies, G3 ponies, or any see-through-glittery ponies? (I'm sure they have an actual name, I just don't know what it is).
Thank you 😊😊 I have two sea ponies in the UV chamber but they're a little difficult to deal with. And I want to do a G2 and G3 but all the ones I find are in great condition. They don't need repairs, and they're too good to be turned into customs. But working on it!!
If you were to do a G1 custom of Phyllis (from the G5 movie, like you did for a G4 Izzy) maybe you can try to find a bait Lickety Split for the base for her. Nice & cool video like always, Merry Xmas/Happy Holidays & Happy New Yr too.
You inspired me to start reparing old ponies, and i wanted to thank you for that. That being said, there is a problem i keep facing : marker marks. See, i use nail-cleaning acetone, which i do not know the percentage of. I also tried other corrosives, and nothing works. So, what can i do if acetone fails to remove marker marks ?
You should put the message (super cute idea, btw) in plastic baggy or something similar. When I was a kid, I'd play with my ponies in the bath. Your message might get wet.
I buy them from eBay, FB marketplace, carboot sales and charity shops. I'd been collecitng damaged ones for a while before starting filming, so I have boxes of toys in different states of repair 😊
I have so many ponies in my collection that I just left with their faded hair because it made them look like little old ladies and I thought they were cute lol
Hey! Merry Christmas ❤️ I wanted to try and join the discord server but both links seem expired on channel description and your about section. Could I get a updated link?
A lot of times the plastic used on heads and bodies is different / ages differently. So you end up with very different colours. But because hydrogen peroxide cleans the vinyl so well, they tend to equalize again 😊😊
She changed a lot!! Also I Don't know why Ponies hair lose color, cuz that happened to some of my g4 ponies Especially the Swimming Seapony Pinkie Pie of MLP the movie 2017. Do you think is because of the water? Cuz the other ponies u used to take them to the pool and wash them a lot.
Thank you 😊 I think some hair colour, especially this light pink, tends to fade very easily. Sunlight, heat...? Not sure why but you rarely see pink hair. That's why I wanted to show a recolouring, because it's a "common case" 😊
Must be nice not to have to fully rehair for a change! She came up so clean and pretty!
Yes! Definitely. And I love trying new things 😊

Hello, I have three ponies from the G4 but one had its tail cut off, how do I change it? Another thing, what do you recommend applying to remove nail polish stains on plastic, without damaging the pony? Lastly, how can I style the pony's mane? I'm from Mexico, could you answer me in Spanish please? 🥺🙏
Hola Ricardo!
Haha I laughed at your clumsiness alert. If I made a video I’d need one of those every 10 seconds, I’m such a klutz! 😆
😁 I only show a selected few. They happen way more behind the scenes :P
"...because acetone can be really really bad for your lungs"
Me, who's worked in a plastic factory for 6 years using acetone to clean ink plates: *YES.*
Ouch! I hope you're okay! I learned how bad it can get when I did one of my first restorations and I breathed it in for over an hour. My throat hurt so much for at least a week. Really scary :/
Love love love love
😊😊😊
She came out beautiful! can you share the brand name for the paint brushes you use? I am unable to find very small stiff enough brushes for the painting.
Thank you! I actually use generic miniature painting brushes, the ones that have good reviews on Amazon. I don't have a favourite brand 😊
@@RetroGeekCrafts ok thank you! ☺️
That's a good idea! Thank you 😊😊 Hope you had a great holiday season!
Thank you so much 😊😊 Some markers are VERY tough to remove. UV light works on most, but it might take months :/
Yay voiceover time!
Thank you so much, you're very kind 😊
You should put the message (super cute idea, btw) in plastic baggy or something similar. When I was a kid, I'd play with my ponies in the bath. Your message might get wet.
oh i'm sure you've mentioned this before and i just haven't seen it yet but i'm wondering where do you get most of your used toys from? 🤔
I buy them from eBay, FB marketplace, carboot sales and charity shops. I'd been collecitng damaged ones for a while before starting filming, so I have boxes of toys in different states of repair 😊
Do you go online looking for your ponies or do you find them at thrift stores?
I buy some on eBay and local markets, sometimes FB marketplace. And FB groups too 😊
Ayyy muchas gracias 😊😊
I have so many ponies in my collection that I just left with their faded hair because it made them look like little old ladies and I thought they were cute lol
Haha I love this 😊😊
Merry XMas! Wish you new projects and new good video for us 😊
P. S. : where do you buy hair for ponies? I need to rehair some my ponies.
I buy my hair from different Etsy sellers. If you're in the US, I recommend Shimmer Locks. Hope you had a great Xmas too 😊😊
Hey! Merry Christmas ❤️ I wanted to try and join the discord server but both links seem expired on channel description and your about section. Could I get a updated link?
I hope you had a good Christmas too 😊😊 Sorry about that, the new link is: discord.gg/Vr4MERryEk (this one will never expire!)
What an amazing restoration!
Thank you 😊😊
Wonder if she was a hybrid? The head and body don't seem to fit right. Colors are off as well. But sge turned out beautifully
A lot of times the plastic used on heads and bodies is different / ages differently. So you end up with very different colours. But because hydrogen peroxide cleans the vinyl so well, they tend to equalize again 😊😊
She changed a lot!!
Also I Don't know why Ponies hair lose color, cuz that happened to some of my g4 ponies
Especially the Swimming Seapony Pinkie Pie of MLP the movie 2017.
Amazing!! O_O
Sooo cool!!!!
Thank you 😊😊
