I'm diamond. The 4 drinks a day...the best perk. Access to the diamond lounge is another favorite of mine. You feel so pampered there with the service, food and drinks.
Hi Matt! Our favorite below the radar benefit on Royal is for Bingo players. Flash your member status to receive one or more additional bingo cards to play per set. This is available to all Gold members and above. When we found out about this little "golden nugget" of a perk we were hooked on playing Bingo on every ship we sailed on.
I love the two 50% off shake coupons at Johnny Rockets! $5 for a shake is a bit pricey, but $2.50 for a shake is great! Those coupons never go unused on our cruises.
I really love the perks! 24/7 free Wi-Fi is the best! One that you didn’t mention, that I really enjoy, is champagne toast with officers and then lunch. It’s an upgraded lunch and it’s nice meeting new people as a solo traveler. People seem to love that they keep the wine following for everyone. It’s a fun time.
Those Hertz and MGM perks were out of left field. It was interesting to find out that my parents, who are both Pinnacle, did not know about those benefits. Was fun to tell them about it being a lowly Platinum.
Thank you for your helpful run through of Crown and Anchor society benefits, Matt. A good video to keep in mind and it'll be worth members noting future changes to make sure they don't miss out. Thank you again.
We are Diamond, and we get invited to the tier event, but it's always at 10:30 in the morning! On sea days we need to be at the pool before then if we want to get a lounge. They should have it around 4 PM.
A huge benefit is the welcome letter reminding me of all the benefits. I just got off a Carnival sailing and missed some benes because I didn't check myself.
Just got off of our first 14 day sailing as diamond and enjoyed getting whatever drinks I wanted. Also picked out our free photo,(Could have had two but the photographers were awful)and used the $10 off laundry so I had clean clothes going home. Now check into status matching.
When using a partner such as HERTZ, do the points that we accrue count towards our Crown & Anchor status? Do a certain number of "HERTZ" points count as one point on our Crown & Anchor point total? Thanks! I am a Diamond in the rough! LOL!
Only at Gold, only been on two RC cruises so far. Not worried about loyalty with so far to go. If it happens it will happen and i will worry about it then. Probably change anyway before I move up.
Great video! May we have a detailed video of the WOW bands? I used on for the first time in May and loved it, I'm going on another cruise in November and wanted to know if I could use the one I bought in May again vs buying a new one.
We are big drinkers so the Diamond drinks cover 3 alcohol drinks and a bottle of water a day! No paying for alcohol or water for us, and if we have only 2 alcohol drinks we get the water and hoard it in the rooms carry a bottle off with us in ports. Celebrity Elite benes have not really paid off for me yet but I am scheduled on a Celebrity next year in Europe. :) I am sure the laundry will be nice.
Hey Matt. I cruised on Allure OTS out of Galveston on the 10th of September 2023. I wanted to use our D+ BOGO Specialty Dining at 150 Central Park to celebrate our friends wedding anniversary, by taking them to dinner on the date. They insisted that we used the offer on Night 2 of a heavily booked restaurant and we ended up with a late seating at 8:30pm. They wouldn't let me prepay and dine on the actual night of their anniversary which was on Night 5, even though there were plenty of availability. Just letting you know maybe you have more special D+ status then we do.
I am new to cruising-- just booked my first cruise for April. Wondering if it makes sense for my husband and I both to join the Crown and Anchor Society?
That 15% discount for purchase of internet access for Platinum and Emerald members isn't really much of a discount. If you purchase internet prior to the cruise, it is almost always advertised for 35% off.
Just got past the 340 points, and was looking forward to get a reduced price sailing solo. But if you are balcony or above, you dont get that.. 😐 You get the dimond plus discount, but it can't be combined with single supplement reduced fare. Was so disappointed, as i was looking forward to finaly save some bucks.
Hi! I was told another perk as diamond is that if you do not want to purchase the full internet package before sailing once you were on board you can request the voom basic internet at a discounted price. have you heard of this, is it true?
Our experience is that there are no longer tiers of internet speed on Royal Caribbean ships. Once they switched to Starlink they began offering only their full speed internet service. At least that has been the case on all of our cruises over the past couple of years.
How does the BOGO for the specialty restaurants work? We‘re D+ and for our next cruise, we pre-booked Samba Grill on night 2. Still were charged 2 cover charges. Do we have to ask for a refund on board?
I’m sailing on Celebrity Diamond Plus, so that will be nice. But they don’t match above that level. I wish I had seen this before I left Vegas yesterday. I would have gotten the upgrade at MGM.
After 45 Royal Cruises, we are trying our first Celebrity Cruise for the Thanksgiving Holiday for something "different", the status match was super easy. Excited to see the difference, however I have warned the family, we KNOW Royal and although it may be familiar, be open to new experiences. For example, no drink coupons, we are back to the equivalent of Diamond Hours for daily drinks. Interested to see which version I will like. 37 Days to Celebrity Summit. Thanks again for the content Matt.
Sailing on Celebrity for the first time next year. I am excited for the new experience, but I agree that it will be different. Happy hour only, will be different since I only have used drink coupons. Enjoy your sailing!🛳
Just sailed on Celebrity Apex and they gave me Elite status for my diamond status on Royal. I was given unlimited drinks throughout the entire cruise if the drinks were under $10. My husband and I got free wine free beer free waters and specialty coffees during our 12 night cruise. We paid for nothing. That’s so much more than our 4 drinks each on Royal. Also we were given 30 pieces of laundry washed dried and folded for free. Will cruise again on celebrity.❤️
@@karenlazzara5909Its a perk, but I find it funny that Celebrity seems to base their entire loyalty program on laundry. I have looked at Royal, Holland and Celebritys loyalty programs and I think Royals is by far the best. However having only been on two Royal cruises so far I am at the Gold level so I have a long way to go to get any good perks.
Recent cruise I was told I don’t get the Diamond discount if the “promotion price” is more than the Diamond discount. So whatever is the larger discount between the two is the one you get. I thought in the past you would get the Diamond discount whatever the offered price is in the day, irrespective of the promotion. Is this correct?
I booked two specialty restaurants already.... my mom is a diamond plus... how would i go about getting the discount? And also the wifi discount for both of us... im a diamond
I didn't hear mentioned the crystal ship blocks. We have ours on display in our home and we actually look forward to receiving them while on board qualifying cruises. That said, we have yet to receive one of the "new style" blocks, so I'm not sure how those will look alongside our existing set. On our last qualifying cruise even though the newer blocks had been rolled out we got an "old style" block, probably because RCL wanted to exhaust its remaining stock.
Has anyone ever received a loyalty level lapel pin listed for any level? Just curious. I don't have a reason to wear except for formal night, but it would be a nice little keepsake. We are Diamond members and have been crusing RCL since 2002.
We received our Diamond pins when we hit that level, and then we received our Diamond Plus pins once we hit that status. I don't recall receiving pins for lower status achievement, though. My recollection is that we received those in the mail, although it has been years ago for each. If you didn't receive yours you may need to call Royal Caribbean to inquire, or check with the loyalty ambassador while on board any RCL ship.
I'm Diamond, but soon to be Diamond Plus. I"m actually really interested in the Celebrity Cruise. Especially this one I found that actually goes all around Japan. I do wonder will you get the same benefits on Celebrity as you would on Royal?
I am 4 points away from diamond plus and just came back from a first time Celebrity cruise. Sailed the Apex. They gave me Elite status. I had unlimited drinks, beer, wine, soda, water and specialty coffees for free. As long as they were under $10 which all was. Paid 0. Also got discounted Wi-Fi, 30 pieces of laundry washed dried and folded. Also priority for all tenders. Treated us very well. Husband says he will always book Celebrity from now on….guess I won’t make diamond plus.
My wife and I are Diamond in C&A and receive Elite status in CC. Though we have put more nights into sailing RC ships, we are actually fairly brand agnostic within the RCCL family. For us these days, it's more about itinerary than ship. Thus, our current cruises are generally repos of 12-18 nights in duration. On Celeb, the two big benefits at the Diamond level/Elite Level reciprocity are the happy hours every night and the free laundry. The happy hours are usually 5-7 each night, and Elite and up can receive unlimited comped drinks (valued at $10 or less) at most bars onboard. Sometimes, a reception will also be held in a dedicated lounge during happy hours. If so, it's the functional equivalent of the Upper Tier receptions in C&A. On longer cruises, the free load of laundry for each CC Elite member in the cabin is also VERY handy. At C&A Diamond+, you get same perk on RC sailings. The one downside with the reciprocal recognition between C&A and CC, is that it caps out with the Elite level - even though CC also has Elite Plus and Zenith levels. All C&A Diamond, Diamond+, and Pinnacle only receive Elite status match. Elite Plus and Zenith must be earned organically in the CC eco-system.
A fleetwide memo went out sept 17 that bogo must be used only night 1 and night 2. And you only mention couples. Solo has pay 1st night, 2nd night free. Allure is adhering strictly to the memo, hou seem unaware of.
Crown & Anchor benefits are just a big yawn. Almost nothing below Diamond is worth worrying about at all, and very little at that level and above. Bottled water and paperweights? Seriously?
Matt said he’s skipping the free drinks at diamond and above but clearly that’s a huge benefit for most cruisers. Even at diamond you’re getting around $350 in value depending on length.
Lots of quite meh benefits from many, many different cruises. The fact that the average cruise is a week but going from gold to the next level requires 30 days is a bit sneaky. Come on, yes if you are the kid of traveller who only ever cruises with the same company then you will be fine, but we like to do different things with our holidays and it’s a bit of a kick to hardly see a benefit until you’ve had four holidays with them. Most hotels give you points that are worth something for every night and you can spend these in multiple ways.
Wow 1 night free internet after how much you spend with them… So as a new cruiser first one coming up royal don’t do anything special for them to make them want to come back a 2nd time
I'm diamond. The 4 drinks a day...the best perk. Access to the diamond lounge is another favorite of mine. You feel so pampered there with the service, food and drinks.
I also like the cappuccino machine in there
I didn't know that. When I was Gold I never got a free card then again I never asked for it...

I love the free 8x 10 photo for Diamond
Yes, diamond drinks alone make c&a great
My new favorite perk is the MGM loyalty status transfer. That got us a ton of perks when we went to Vegas!
We love Celebrity and as you said, the matching status is really great!
Having free laundry is a wonderful perk, but beware that the water is very hot. I only send clothing that do not require special care.
I didn't know that you have free laundry on rcl!
Those Hertz and MGM perks were out of left field. It was interesting to find out that my parents, who are both Pinnacle, did not know about those benefits. Was fun to tell them about it being a lowly Platinum.

Glad it was helpful!
Hi! I love your videos. You make cruising sound so exciting 😊.
Do you have a video with suite perks on a Royal Caribbean cruise? Happy Cruising
We are Diamond, and we get invited to the tier event, but it's always at 10:30 in the morning! On sea days we need to be at the pool before then if we want to get a lounge. They should have it around 4 PM.
Hi, Matt! Nice video, as always. Just to be sure I got it right, please: is the BOGO specialty dining perk useful for solo travellers? Thanks.
A huge benefit is the welcome letter reminding me of all the benefits.

Great video! May we have a detailed video of the WOW bands? I used on for the first time in May and loved it, I'm going on another cruise in November and wanted to know if I could use the one I bought in May again vs buying a new one.
The wow bands are reusable. Just take them to customer service and they will activate them

Moving up to Emerald. We get 2 bottles of water. Only real benefit from moving up from Platinum to Emerald.
25 more nights at sea and you get a water bottle and $2 extra in the casino. It is truly a joke.
Really 2 bottles of water cost the cruise line 16 cents. Funny it’s touted as a benefit
My husband and I are just Gold Members
You'll get there. Took us 15 years.
I was really excited about the discount on a balcony cabin. Until I found out how it works.
Yeah, can’t be combined with other discounts and the balcony discount usually isn’t as good therefore it is most useless
It used to be additional…sigh @@bettyditillo1425

just shy of the free drinks on RCL but the two free specialty dinners and free laundry dont such on NCL. Just saying.

We were on the Summit for the Greenland / Iceland cruise a couple of months ago. We had a great time and it was a very unique itinerary.

What do you have to do to get one. I am platinum getting ready to turn emerald
You get the first one once you reach 140 cruise points.
Has anyone ever received a loyalty level lapel pin listed for any level? Just curious. I don't have a reason to wear except for formal night, but it would be a nice little keepsake. We are Diamond members and have been crusing RCL since 2002.
You can ask for all of them at guest services. 4:54
I received a platinum pin on my cruise last month
On a recent cruise, I went to the Loyalty desk to pick up my loyalty pin.

I don't believe that's possible
