You are one hell of a fantastic rc pilot, respect to you Sir
Thanks for the comments about the football/soccer field sizes and speed. Hard to judge things when watching UA-cam. I don't know the size of your beautiful property there, but understanding 1 acre or ball field sizes for a beginner deciding on something like this is really helpful. I know experience is a big determining factor, but good to hear this stuff discussed. Thanks for all the info you and your Camera Crew are providing for us. Great job.
Awesome! Glad this was a helpful point. It is hard to tell how big the area is.
I did measure the driveway to the turn, and it's about 222 feet to the bend - flying from the Vampire killing zone end toward the Eagle killing zone end (the direction you'd drive if you were driving away from the house)
I ordered this from your link. I found the details in your video of the unboxing and build helpful and wanted to use your link for that reason. I look forward to getting it and setting it up.
Awesome, thank you! You will love it - GREAT CHOICE!!!
I have Chistmas airplane buying fever!!! I want one!!!
Thanks as always Brian and Megan, for your fantastic production, highly skilled flying, and entertainment and information.
This was a joy to watch and listen to. Thanks to you and the camera crew!
You are welcome!
While watching you fly the Big Foot, you made a comment that absolutely changed my thinking. It was when you said " I don't like to think about flying when I'm flying, it causes it to be much harder".
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I needed to hear that.
You are a fantastic pilot, and a great teacher, and your UA-cam channel is second to none.
Thanks! Glad you caught that comment ;) IT is so weird that if you "THINK" about what you're doing, you'll tent to "over-think" it - strange to explain on paper, but when you've been there, YOU GET IT ;)
I second that on all counts.
Another great video! I would love to see specific videos about "batteries and chargers", "radios controllers" and other specific topics that would help the newbies understand the terminologies associated with the hobby. They are probably already out there on youtube, but your explanations are very detailed :)
I have SMART tech in a playlist. We cover Tx'es in every video. This is a "Second Thoughts" video, so if you go to the playlists, you can see the whole setup on any given plane.
I have an FMS Ranger I've been learning on and I'm flying just fine without safe but I can't take off or land on grass with it so I just ordered the PNP version of the Big foot. Hoping it will fly just as good and be good for grass ops. Thanks for the super informative content Brian!
Awesome vid mate, well done, love this plane, going to try and get one in the uk
Thanks Lee! Good luck, and hope you can get one in your hands!!!
Love your videos. They are entertaining and helpful.
Thanks John!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Great repair lesson for beginners.
Glad you liked it! We have some more advanced repairs here too, but this is a common one, and super simple. We hope showing just how EASY it is to fix, will help to lure a few more audience members off the couch and into the RC saddle ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC well done!👍🏻
Great job as always, thank you guys.
Thanks!
Thanks Brian
You're welcome, and thanks Buck!
Mine has been crashed and fixed so many times. Without struts, landing gear, with a 40 A ESC and a 4S 2200 pack, it flies great.
Marks of a true trainer ;)
Great job Ice. I love that scammy lil battery checker! 🤣
LOL - it sure is ;)
Looking for a video on setting up the Bigfoot PNP with a Spectrum receiver. I just purchased mine and it's on the way! Your channel is informative and entertaining!
I don't think we did this one as a PNP, but rather as the RTF...so if you want to see the setup, you could follow along any other plane with similar characteristics, and you'll have 95% or better, step by step direction, if you want.
Here's a recent one - ua-cam.com/video/qG910lpxvhs/v-deo.html - but there are many more ;)
Love this plane!
It's a great option!
Very good video, Brian. 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
That plane is so Feather Lite i had a 3300 3s Lipo in it not knowing it was still in the plane i picked up the plane not even realizing it had a battery in it....Thats Amazingly Light and now i understand why it fly plenty quick even on 3s no less! Buy This Plane you wont be disappointed at all.
yes, like James said ;)
Turned mine off and it flew off lol and busted my new prop on back of chair, just thought you needed to laugh tonight. Suggestions to where I can find prop for new Bigfoot plane?
Bro I hope you read this comment. I have been doing RC for the last 20 years I have been trying to fly airplanes for the last 10 years but failed a lot I went back at it 3 months ago when I found your page by following every move that you made I literally know how to fly any airplane out there due to the knowledge that you gave me I don't know how to thank you.Real talk!!! I'm just a regular dude that loves RC I can fly helicopters and all that but when you fly airplane it's something different and I want to never been able to do it if I didn't follow your steps thank you.
I'm so glad to hear this! We really try hard to help encourage people to get back into it, or into it, and when you get the help you need, it's not insurmountable...so stick with it, and you'll be flying like a pro in no time at all!
Thanks for the comment! We appreciate hearing from you! It's encouraging to hear that our efforts are producing results!
I just love 💕 that plane….. That is the one to recommend to new or advanced pilot. It’s just such a good design it just flys so epically good..

Thanks - Megan is amazing with the camera!!!
I agree with the camera crew... I believe there are areas, where you might fly, that because of space the Pioneer would be a better choice over the Bigfoot 1.3.
True
Hey brian. Recently got a bigfoot and mine baloons upwards when i deploy the flaps, but yours doesnt seem to, and i assume that rtf transmitter doesnt have any elevator compensation. Ive programmed 25% down comp in with my spektrum, but just wondering if maybe ive just got the battery too far back? Flying on 4s 2700 with the pack all the way back to meet book cg
If you still have ballooning at 25%, then you can just go higher with the elevator correction. Make sure you're going DOWN with the elevator (so the rearmost tip of the elevator is pointing more downward when the inboard flaps are pointing down) On the RTF, you're right, there isn't any elevator compensation, but you can just slow down too, as that will help too...just don't fall out of the sky ;)
Would this still be flyable in a 60’x200’ area? Or is it too big?
Hi Brian, love the channel. Would really appreciate your opinion on which would be the better second plane, this bigfoot or the fms p-18 1.3. I'm learning to fly with the arrows pioneer, would have bought the apprentice stol, but for some reason spares are scarce in the uk.
Thank you, awesome channel. 👌
Need help getting hobbyzone to push my Bigfoot order through. Having trouble, is there anywhere else that sells the 1300 rtf. ?
Definitely a nice bird especially for the price 🔥👍✌️
Yeah, and RTF! Great gift idea ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Yeah I hint hinted this fact to my life 😁 Let's see if it pays off lol ✌️
foam tac works great
Cool!
Now you need to try 4s on this one next time. It's fun!
Okay ;)
How would you compare the FMS PA 18 1300 to the Bigfoot? Just curious your opinion. You seem quite knowledgeable. Thank you!
Need a prop for my Bigfoot your video made me purchase😎 which do you suggest ??? Pioneer plane looks familiar
Nice Hugh, we have some boxes 2
Who's Hugh?
@@BrianPhillipsRC Brian you and the crew do great work, Hugh is a great friend that flies FPV got comments mixed up😎
Hey Brian, I was browsing horizons planes and the fms yak 130 70mm jet really caught my eye. It seems to be a super cool plane at a seemingly great price. Would be great if you were able to review it. Not sure if you haven't already, I did scroll thru your vids and didn't see it but sometimes my ADD blinds me. But yea the fms yak 130 seems like a great buy! Thx keep the videos coming!
We haven't done that plane yet, Sorry!
Brian, had indoor accident and need prop, Bigfoot upgrade to what prop for beginner ? Please help, they seem to be out of stock, need help many ways
Hi Brian, great vids, I just got this plane. Have you tried crow or drooping the flaps on this plane for even more STOL performance or would you advice me trying? I have a very small backyard field so every bit of STOL helps. Many thanks!
I didn't try anything beyond what was "stock" but you could add some features to expand the STOL performance
Hi Brian
Im new to the hobby
I'm going to buy the RTF big foot and the ultimate husky they are the same battery company brand...
Being looking for a great charger for this 2 future plane's
Can you tell me which one to buy...
I saw the one u got but i think i need a adapter to charge the 3s and the 6s for arrows battery on the smart charger and didn't find it....
My second plan was to buy the smart charger and smart batteries 3s and 6s for both planes
But don't know if i have to buy a adapter to connect the smart battery to both planes ( i think this is my best option for battery) is there is no adapter to execute this plan I'll have to buy the stock battery and a regular charger for the arrows...
Sorry for the long typos...
Note: on the RTF big foot is 25c and the lowest in smart battery is 30c
Well be blessed Brian hope to hear from you.
Ill keep looking for a solution to this problem...
Thanks again 🚁✈
Okay....a few things. I want to help you save a few bucks, if you can.
1) Buy the RTF (Ready to Fly) Bigfoot, and possibly another battery...sure, but don't get the SMART YET. Go with the one that comes with the plane, and then upgrade to SMART after a bit.
2) Don't get the Husky YET. You want to learn to fly, and you COULD with the Husky Ultimate, but I wouldn't suggest it to you YET. This plane flies on 6S, and that's a performance plane. You might want to get the Bigfoot flying first. Get the hang of it, and if you want to drop a load of cash, get an NX8, S2200 Charger, and 2200 4S 30C Smart pack and a Turbo Timber Evo BNF next. This will give you exposure to both the Arrows and Horizon planes, plus you'll LOVE the Timber too. Possibly a UMX Turbo Timber
3) Keep in mind, you'll be making or collecting battery adapters as you get more and more deep into the hobby. Smart chargers and batteries are expensive, but they will last a bit longer, and offer quite a lot more safety margins for you....but they will spoil you, and you'll need to still learn about the TECH so you don't burn your house / car down. (Seriously...not a joke)
4) Take this a little at a time. You don't want to end up divorced. Also, it takes time to learn. Don't measure your success against others...measure it against YOURSELF. Get used to flying as often as possible. This might be easier with an RC simulator while you're brand new. Flying is hard when you're new...don't get down on yourself. Try to never end the day on a crash...get a good flight in every time you fly. Don't leave for home without landing successfully (if at all possible).
Okay...
List of stuff here...
Bigfoot RTF bit.ly/3oyKrlz | Bigfoot PNP bit.ly/3GA60Zh (PNP + AR620 bit.ly/2QUlyCd | AR620 bit.ly/3Dv9mdR - if you want to do it with NX8)
NX8 bit.ly/3f4JhZl (I usually suggest the NX8 without Rx, but you could get the one WITH and use it in your Bigfoot for practice)
Timber bit.ly/3cEjplB (same link, but results will be Turbo Timber Evo and UMX Turbo Timber)
S2200 bit.ly/398ohO6 (Dual Smart charger)
Bats bit.ly/39bWmwk (I think you need 3S 2200mAh 30C Gen1 or Gen2 + 4S 2200mAh 4S 30C Gen1 or Gen2)

Durafly prime tundra or arrows bigfoot for my 1st rtf "big plane" with flaps? What do you think? Thanks in advance.
I have to clarify that I'm quite partial to Arrows products because we work with them, and have chosen NOT to work with Hobby King (They offered, and we declined, FYI)
That being said, I can't say the Prime Tundra is bad, but I can't say it's good either...to be honest, I can only say that the Bigfoot is a good choice....BUT if you're in the market for BIG, what about going REAL big, and getting the Carbon Z Cessna 150T while it's on sale??? (ending VERY soon BTW)...

Bigfoot 1.3m RTF - bit.ly/30mYdOq - ua-cam.com/play/PLXTH0DstRDc7elVLLXihkLRs_J4QQ0Hm-.html
Can you show how to add this plane to your NX radio with a spektrum AR637t receiver?
You would just disconnect all the servo wires from the vector box and do standard setup. Just about any other of Brian's setup videos would show how.
Dennis, It's not too hard. I'd suggest if you want to run this plane as a PNF with the Vector... check out my Edge 540 video where we used an AR620 (a basic 6ch rx - no SAFE or AS3X...since we were using the Vector) ua-cam.com/video/ncZNfVG1q64/v-deo.html
If you're pulling out the Vector out or never had it, which means you'd be treating it like an ordinary PNP, you can watch any of our other PNP videos where we used the AR630 or AR637T and just copy the setup almost exactly. We just did this Ranger the other day and showed how we used an AR630 (Same setup as the aR637T, but with the AR637T you can ADD a cable to go to your battery lead for nominal pack voltage too) ua-cam.com/video/IZfpsMYVKP4/v-deo.html
What nice Pilot here! Would be great if you test it our models as well.
I Agree ;)
When flying my Big Foot it stops responding to the transmitter for a second or two. It happens about twice a minute. I have replaced the batteries in the transmitter but it didn't help. Do you have any hint ?
I would discontinue use until you can figure it out. Try a RANGE TEST FIRST.
How do you do the corn hole (?) maneuver?
Full throttle, nose over, and hold then full rudder, and then just move the rudder and ailerons to make the plane flop onto it's back and then yaw like crazy - it's fun, but also a REAL maneuver, I just don't know the name - LOL ;)
Best rc plane ever….
This is a great plane for sure!
Wow...😀
You need one ;)

I'm a new pilot, I bought a Arrow prodigy, & I haven't taken it out of the box yet lol. I'm wanting a beginner plane with Landing gear. Do you recommend this Bigfoot, or the Arrows Trekker, as a first trainer plane?
Either are good choices. I think most people assume the Bigfoot will be easier since it's a tail dragger, but to be honest, they're both super close on the "Easy" scale.

debating on the bigfoot or fms PA-18 1300.

good video, nice plane but still prefer the Xfly glastar
almost the same plane, without flaps.
Really? Interesting!
@@BrianPhillipsRC i dont think the xfly is almost same, very different but yeah a kinda bush plane
You have a good thing going, it is good to be the King. Quick question, I currently own 6 planes, Mini Convergence, UMX Citation Latitude, UMX A-10, UMX Turbo Timber, Carbon Cub S2, and a FMS 1700mm F4U Corsair V3, If you were me, what would be your next purchase to get the most bang for my buck. What are your current favorite planes to fly? I may need your assistance to help set up the electronics on my Corsair, I am not sure what to do when you first set up the ESC. I have tried to set it up once, however, I am not sure how to get it set up right. Thank you guys again, you are so fun and informative. Someday, if you make it to Tucson, I would like to get together and fly.
Okay, ESC setup is easy....just make sure you have the throttle in the right port, and until you're well enough versed, keep the prop off the plane...and use TAPE so you can tell what direction it's moving. Sometimes you have to adjust your trim to get the ESC to ARM when they first come out of the box. Other times, you need to set your throttle cut to BELOW -100% to get them to arm, but be careful you don't set it to cause the prop to start when you turn off the throttle cut.
We have a video series on the FMS F4U Corsair 1700mm. I hope you've watched it!!!
As for next plane...that's a loaded quesiton. You might need to help me help you. Give me about 3-5 and I'll help you pick my favorite from the lot. Everyone has different taste in planes, so I can't tell you what makes best sense for your next plane. You could do just about any plane, with your repertoire
Nice is that TX full range looks like toy grade tx
I wouldn't make any bets on it - But it works for a RTF ;)
Is this better then the fms ranger or the pa18
is it flying like the old timber??
It flies good, but I think the Timber is a bit more juicy
My reverse thrust on my RV-7 1.1m has a cliché, there is still power in the motor.
It hard to explain but the prop. fails the spin freely by hand when going forward to reverse.
Horizon Tech. Support advised me to set the brake from 0 to 7. It made it worse.
Any thoughts on what going on.
Breaking is going on. This is normal. It will POWER the motor to keep the prop braced.

Hello Brian. When will you test the Omphobby Bighorn plane? Greetings
As soon as I can get one. They've been out of stock for-ever. I want to do it like 11 months ago ;)
Are you able to turn the beep off?
I don't know how to do it, but if it could be done, I would do it. I think it's SUPER annoying.
@@BrianPhillipsRC let me know if you get any ideas!
Will it fly on 4S without melting the ESC or the motor?
I've heard from a few people that they've done it without issues, but I don't personally think the power is needed.
Now on the 50mm EDF jets - that's where the 4S really helps! ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Thank you..I talked w/Dan at Hobbyzone, he says go for it, just don't keep the throttle wide open for too long....I flew it w/Gen 1 2700, 4S 35c today several flights w/no issues and it was terrific fighting the wind!
I’m currently learning to fly in the UK with a Bigfoot it’s a great plane ……. Great videos from you guys✈️👍
Nice! Good call on the Bigfoot!
Another Big Reason this makes a Great Beginner Plane Brian is the Extra Large Landing Tundra Tires for eliminating nose over,s in thick tall grass, And the one big thing thats always a troublesome and a pain in butt is dealing with weak vulnerable nose gear on Tricycle Type Configuration Beginner Planes! Fixing and bending those back in place Frustrated the Crap out of me when o was just starting out.
YES...totally true! Big wheels allow for better prop clearance too. I just wish they were SQUISHY ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC i dont mind them cause they keep the plane ultra lite which makes it less likely to stall hard Plus extra weight creates more damage on a crash.
Just got 1. Is it true. Can you use 4s?
I haven't tried it, and think 3S makes it fly GREAT! If you try it, I suspect it would be fine, from past experience with Arrows ESC's.
Ok thank you Brian. I have learned alot from u my friend. God bless
Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much!!
I just saw a review that said he liked the plane but the ESC and motor burned out after 5 flights and the repair parts are sold out so it must be a common problem, any thoughts. This guy is in his mid 40's so it's unlikely he over batteried it I would assume. I was going to buy this plane, but not now.
Not sure what he did wrong, or if it was just a fluke. I would say, possibly 4S in stead of 3S? Either way, I haven't had this issue, but I would be straight up lying if I said it was an impossibility. I've had a lot of planes and a lot of failures over the years...many of which were my fault, but not all of them...
...bottom line, call it a fluke for now? I can't see any reason why this plane would have a mis-match on power system.
I think what happened was the review I read was on a store site and it was one of those where they pay people to post bad reviews so they won't buy the product because they're a different manufacturer. You get a lot of untrustworthy reviews nowdays so you have to be careful what you believe. Thanks for your response, I wasn't trying to be negative about this plane, I'll probably buy it now. Have a good one.
Just off the subject, any more tractor videos coming?
Wasn't on the agenda, but we could always work one it possibly ;)
your videos are very good

300.00... Belly laugh.
@@billshepard2908 exactly, personally I'd never pay that much for that model for what it is, it's easily $100 dollars overpriced.
@@steelrainfpv3383 I purchased a Freewing 70mm Vulcan Jet for the same price... great retracts as well. Check yourself Eflite.
We won't have it for months, unfortunately ;( I've know about it almost a year now...

You need a video on just the aerobatics!
I always do some with each plane, but you want me to make ONLY aerobatics? On this plane, or a bunch?
@@BrianPhillipsRC I’m flying the Habu Sts, just getting comfortable on expert mode, I can pull off loops regularly but I’m curious to what exactly the other maneuvers are called.
Where can I get my hands on an Arrows Bigfoot? They seem to be out of stock!!!!!!! Help!!! I have a crashed one trying to rebuild
.....Bill Flying Tiger
👍
thanks!
I would buy it if they ever had stock
They are just getting some of this worked out, under new ownership...sorry for the reset, since it is causing a delay in some functions of this business.

@@BrianPhillipsRC new ownership? hopefully quality will remain. Anyhow finally found stock in england which is costing me a pretty penny in shipping(almost the cost of the plane itself)
AHAHAAHHAAA!
@20:16
Best in the Game BPRC,, Hahhaaa!!
Glad you stayed long enough for the Robot Invitation ;)
which would you choose between the carbon cub s2 and the bigfoot for a beginner? Thanks!
Horizon is gonna HATE me for saying this, but in this case, if you're talking RTF - Bigfoot 1.3m is better.

@@BrianPhillipsRC thanks!
@@BrianPhillipsRC hey Brian, as a newbie what makes the bigfoot better? I’m having the same debate as the original questioner
That Elevator Design is fine for real full size planes but its Not compatible for Tall grass or brush take off n landings which this plane is designed for.. Thats the only real flaw i see in the Bigfoot Beast. i just bought one anyway cause Brian is like an awesome used car salesman. hahaha!
LOL - This one doesn't have any saw dust in the oil though - LOL ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Yeah but ive herd you turned back the odometer a few clicks on your lunch break. hahaha
Brian you are certainly a good enough pilot to do a hammerhead with the Bigfoot. You need to look on utube and find out what a hammerhead is. You keep misusing that word.
I wonder if others are running 4S? I was running just 3S
I love your respect for airplanes that are flying near you. Safety first!
Thanks Michael! Gotta keep people safe first ;)
whatever you do don't press those buttons lol
