Also it was Miep Gies not Otto that found the diary in the building of opekta where the secret annexe was she handed it to Otto and he published it in 1947 other than editing of some passages that didn’t paint Edith her mother in the best light and some that were too deeply personal it was much as it was as she left it on 4th August when they were discovered . To believe it’s fiction is just disrespectful .

Anna was full of life and extremely positive girl. She could have survived if Margot had not died. She was also very positive in the camp but Margot's death broke her and if she had lived a few more days she would have been saved.
New evidence actually suggests that she might have died some months before the liberation in February or early March. Bergen-Belsen was liberated by the British on 15th April 1945. Survivors who had contact with Anne in the camp state that she was showing symptoms of typhus in late February, and left untreated it's unlikely she would have lived into April 😢😢
Even if she lived to see liberation if it was late stage she would have not survived, many didn't survive after liberation despite care. But she would have lived to see liberation. Sad 🥺 either way though.

When my family went to Holland, we went to Amsterdam and we went to the Anne Frank house. It was really cool to see, but it’s also such a tragic thing that happened! I’m glad I got to see it.

Anne frank wrote the book, her dad edited it because it was too long and too much private information in it. I've watched a frank family member's interview where they explained all of that. At 64 years old, I finally read the Diaries. It has had a profound effect on me. Everything Buddy says here is exactly how I found Anne to be through her writing. What an exceptional young lady she was. And I know she suffered terribly at Bergen-Belsen. But based on what I learned about her, and her overall positive demeanor, I'm sure that she was hopeful and as positive as possible to the end. Still, her story is devastating to me. There's no way a fifth-grader (for many of whom this is on their reading lists) can really appreciate Anne's story. In the end, she got her wish. She absolutely became an influential writer. If only she knew. God rest her soul.
