While studying in the US, an auditing professor invited 2 British auditors as guest speaker to share auditing experience with us. If I am not wrong, they are from Wales. I was completely lost during the 2-hour session. I simply can't understand what they said. It was an alien language to me, though I knew they were speaking "British English". After going through the entire career and working with people from all over the world, that was the only time I couldn't "manage" the accent.
The US and Canadian accent definitely have a strong Irish roots to my ears...the UA-cam travel Vlogger couple ON Tour With Dridgers have the hardest accent to understand, they say they are from the South, but their accent is very different to the Southern accent in this film though...it's fascinating that such a small country have so many accents!
This is an absolutely fantastic video-so informative and educational. Well done, everyone! My favorite singer, Ed Sheeran, is from Halifax, which I believe is in West Yorkshire. The gentleman you interviewed kind of sounds like Ed, though Ed’s accent might be influenced by all his travels. Once again, hats off to you all!

i spent my teenage years in dudley and my best frd at that time was a British born Chinese and he has the strongest brummie-dudley accent ever. He e-nit all the time.. i went to Wolverhampton quite often but at that time i couldn't tell the difference of accents. i moved to London and then Dagenham for work, very different from Birmingham.. i also lived in Edinburgh before.. so i was in a few of the towns which Sussie went..
UK feels likes a live museum to see the past. Houses and accents are very old, it has instrumental things that are somewhat modern, with an ancient vibe from people.
This is a GREAT video! Tiny human #1 is OBSESSED with, at minimum, "sounding" British. I think that tiny human #1 will have a LOT of fun with this video, learning about the various British accents.

喜歡聽各種口音覺得很有趣，記錄此次採訪不容易，辛苦了，謝謝。兩三個問題請問，1.是否英國人比較注重隱私不喜歡受訪，如果不拿攝影機大家會友善一點嗎? 還是大家對陌生人都比較冷漠? 2.因為英國口音非常多和複雜，排除地區特殊用法(slang)，單純口音上會否英國人也會有聽不懂對方在說什麼的狀況? 3.各地方是否都對自已區域口音為榮?(像是中部那位先生?) 或其實不喜歡口音，因為會被身份識別(被劃分北方中部南部有刻板印象？) 戴舒萱老師覺得多數人是哪一種呢?，謝謝

Intonations are quite different as well, most obviously, in Liverpool, Scotland and Ireland.
在倫敦和伯明翰找一個講正宗Cockney或 Brummie口音的人，難度要比去找到India/Pakistan/Nigeria/Caribbean Region/Eastern Europe口音的人還要高一些。
不難，找個當地出生的bbc, 他們本地accent 最重，比當地白人更重。我以前三個英國bbc朋友，分別最cockney, 最Brumnie,同最scotish！
