    Good video. These adjustments also apply to others bikes as well. I think many people do not bed in the brakes.

    Tim, I don't mean to be a nuisance, but thanks again as I fine tune my 2023 Limited Edition? Zebra. As I stated earlier, this step over version has the updated control panel. I'm not finding as much information as I'd like to see. Again, we all say thank you for helping.

      I’m sorry David, I don’t have the zebra anymore. And the one I had seemed very similar to my Himiway Cruiser as far as the screen adjustments.

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  7 місяців тому

      I had to decide between my original cruiser and the Zebra. While the zebra had, what I would consider, better components…ie battery and motor. The balance and comfortable ride that my cruiser affords was too good to give up. So I kept my original Himiway Cruiser as one of my two daily riders, and it is my favorite.

    Thanks again. Do you have any tips on how to align the front wheel with the forks? My zebra front tire is not in the center of the forks. It is off by about 1/2" to the left of dead center. I have a squeak in the front breaks and will use your tip to hopefully adjust it.

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  Рік тому +1

      The tires on my Zebra have less than a half inch to the fork. If yours is off a half inch the tire would hit the fork…
      If the axle is fully seated in the dropouts in the forks it should naturally align in the center of the forks. So I would ask, on the forks there is a bar that runs across above the tire. (the one that the headlight attaches to)
      Is it in front of the forks or behind? (it should be in front)
      If that’s the case, I would closely inspect the forks for damage. If they are bent or something the tire could be misaligned.
      Let us know what you find!

      @@TinkeringTurtle Thanks. I am not with the bike right now. I will check tomorrow. I may have exaggerated the distance. But it is not centered. Thanks for the prompt reply...

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  Рік тому

      Make sure your axle is fully seated in the dropouts. I make sure my bikes are upright and not leaning on the kickstand when I tighten the front skewer. If you have it leaning over the axle may not be fully seated in both dropouts.

      The plate you referred to is in front. I just loosed the leaver, centered the tire, and tightened it up. It is aligned now, thanks.

      Keeping in mind that diagnosing an issue like this over the internet is almost impossible. I would guess that a bearing in the head tube is damaged or contaminated in some way. I would suggest contacting support for troubleshooting suggestions and, or taking it a local bike shop so they can take it apart and analyze it. Either way contact support, even if you go the local bike shop route they may cover the expense.
      I hope this helps!

    Hello, I've been watching your videos for years...GREAT VIDEOS...Most informative!!! However, I thought you were going to show the tinkering/adjustments for the display on the NEW Himiway!!!??? Especially since Himiway did away with pedal assist adjustments and put a governor on the top end speed limits!!!

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  Рік тому +1

      I will look at it and see if there is enough to do a video on. But the settings, at a quick glance look the same as the cruiser other than the top speed is different. I didn’t see the pedal assist adjustments went away. I will go thru it. thx!

    Hey, I did not get all those extra parts only an extra L bracket and I had to use it because one of mine broke from shipping but everything is okay and I got some extra mm nuts and bolts, also I got one of the first ones shipped to the U.S. so maybe that's why but I had all the bolts for my front basket and water bottle holder, and it will be good watching to see what you are going to do to yours because I have already done a lot to mine and have almost 2800 miles on it and are looking at maybe getting some white wall street tires for it soon because I think it would look cool on that bike and I only ride on the street too and some hard trials!

    • @TinkeringTurtle
      @TinkeringTurtle  Рік тому +1

      Maybe it’s a more recent thing getting the extra parts. I really like that they are doing that though.

      After 3 yrs I had accumulated 9 bikes and filled up my shed with spill over into my garage. So I sold them locally to make room for future bikes.
